  • Parental benefits: Zillow Group’s parental leave policy provides new parents with extended quality time with their family. Expecting mothers receive 16 weeks of fully paid leave, and non-delivering parents receive 8 weeks of fully paid leave. We have designated nursing rooms, fully-equipped with hospital grade pumps and fridges in all of our offices. Since 2010, we’ve offered free overnight breastmilk shipping for nursing mothers on business trips. These benefits build on our already strong culture of supporting working parents. In addition, Zillow Group supports all of our employees through the family planning process. Coverage for infertility services is available under all of our healthcare plans, and Zillow Group gives employees $5,000 in adoption assistance that can be applied toward the costs that come from adopting a child.
  • Equity Choice: Zillow Group employees receive company stock as part of their total compensation. Zillow Group is one of only a handful of companies in the U.S. that allow employees to choose how to receive their stock—in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs), stock options or a combination of the two in 25 percent increments. The program allows employees to tailor their equity-based compensation to their long and short-term financial goals and needs. In addition, because Zillow Group believes so strongly in the long-term success of the company, Zillow Group offers an incentive of approximately 20 percent for employees who select stock options. This program allows our employees to pick a compensation package that meets their personal investment needs.
  • Free Breast Milk Shipping: After TSA hassled an employee traveling for work because she was carrying breast milk, Zillow Group adopted a policy that enables moms traveling on business to overnight ship their breast milk home from anywhere in the country for free. This resource ensures that working moms can continue to provide for their children without worrying about the logistics of getting their breast milk home.
  • Transportation Benefits: Reducing our carbon footprint and the stress that often accompanies commuting is important to Zillow Group. We cover the cost of public transit for our employees up to $500 a month. Coverage is not just limited to buses or train; in Cincinnati and New York, bike sharing is included, while in Seattle, ferry transportation is included.
  • Health and Wellness Program: As part of our focus on work-life balance, Zillow Group encourages employees to live an active lifestyle. To be flexible for employees' needs, we provide on-site fitness classes including yoga and meditation at many of our locations and offer a wellness reimbursement that can be used towards fitness dues. Other wellness benefits include: ● 100% of employee premiums for medical, prescription, vision and dental covered ● Gym reimbursement ● Standing desks at all employee workstations for those who wish to stretch their legs during the day. ● Treadmill desks where employees can have walking meetings, answer emails or simply get moving during the workday ● Weekly in-office yoga classes ● Mind Body Spirit days (SF only) ● Daily in-office meditation classes (SEA only) ● Library “Quiet Rooms” for rest, relaxation or quiet work.
  • Baby Bucks: Bringing a new baby home is both exciting and expensive. To combat the added costs of a new addition to employees’ families, new parents at Zillow Group receive a $1,000 Amazon e-gift credit to help purchase the essentials. The program is available to all new parents, including adoptive parents.
  • Zillow Group Speaker Series: The Zillow Group Speaker Series brings in leaders from all industries to candidly speak to our employees about their thoughts on business, leadership, work/life balance and the really cool work that they do. Some of our most popular Zillow Group Speakers have included Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute on “The Office”), who discussed working with his nonprofit the Mona Foundation, and Seattle Seahawks Defensive End Cliff Avril, who discussed his career path and how he worked his way from being on the one of the worst teams in the NFL to playing a crucial role in the Seahawks Super Bowl XLVIII win.
  • Hack Week and Innovation Week: Hack Week, or Innovation Week, takes place a few times a year. During the week, employees are invited to dedicate their time to dreaming up and innovating on projects of their choice. Individuals pitch and collaborate with others on creative ideas, channeling the startup energy that launched Zillow. The week has led to the launch of many new features, including: ● Zillow’s WeChat and other resources for Chinese buyers looking at U.S. real estate ● Trulia’s Facebook Messenger bot for rentals ● Trulia’s Rent Near Transit feature to help consumers find rentals near mass transit stations ● Zillow’s Community Pillar program that connects income-restricted renters with property managers that have agreed to relax their standard tenant screening process in order to help applicants with potential rental barriers
  • Pet Insurance: As part of our family-friendly benefits package, Zillow Group provides employees with discounts on comprehensive insurance plans for their four-legged friends. The pet insurance program helps owners with veterinary bills, injuries, illnesses, emergencies and genetic conditions.
  • Zillow Group Recharge & Reboot: After six consecutive years of employment, Zillow Group employees are eligible to take up to six consecutive weeks off of work to recharge and reboot (“R&R”). We look for candidates who do the right thing, have a bias for action, act with respect and resourcefulness, and who are passionate about helping people make smarter decisions about their homes. We work in small teams and have an open workspace, so prospective employees must have excellent communication skills and be able to thrive in a collaborative environment where their voice is just as important as the person sitting next to them.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Getting noticed requires thinking outside the box and an attention to detail. Candidates should provide clear, concise, chronological resumes highlighting their accomplishments and skills. We encourage prospective employees to connect with us at career events held throughout the country, at open houses and events we host, or on social media. When we connect, we want to know they’ve done their homework. Software developers, software testers, sales professionals, customer support, and marketers are a top priority for hiring in the next couple of years. We look for data-driven people who take ownership, are honest and constructive, overcome obstacles, work hard and have fun.
