We asked xMatters to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Personal Progression Program: Each year xMatters provides a cash grant to employees and their families to be used for anything that will better them in their personal or professional lives. If an individual is asking for the grant, the sum of the grant is $250 and if the employee is including their family in the program, the grant is $500. Each year more than 75% of xMatters' global employees take part in this program for unique goals like gym memberships, Crossfit, weight loss programs, photography classes, cooking classes, a marathon or Ironman Race, a family triathlon, learning to brew their own beer, rescuing civilians from North Korea, adoptions, etc. The only requirement is that employees post their progress in our xMatters Employee Community site with pictures, updates, metrics, etc.
  • xMatters Biggest Loser: This program is on a volunteer basis for employees who wish to lose weight, lose inches or just feel better about themselves in general. xMatters breaks into 3 teams and from January 1st to April 1st, there is some serious competition amongst the teams to see who can get the healthiest. The winning team is the team that loses the most percentage of weight across the 3 months. We have seen some major transformations!
  • xMatters Company Kick Off: Each year, in April, the company gets together for networking, training and fun to kick off our new Fiscal Year which starts April 1st. This week is extremely important to our culture. In 2017 we brought half the company to our Sales Kickoff in San Diego and half to our Engineering Kickoff in Vancouver. By incorporating members from engineering and IT in the sales conference and people from sales in marketing in the engineering conference, we bring ALL employees together - finance, HP, engineering, admin, sales, advisors, marketing and leadership. This week is the highlight of the year for many employees!
  • President's Club Trip: Each year, the best of the best at xMatters get whisked away on the trip of a lifetime in some exotic location around the world. We have been to Mexico, to the Caribbean, to the French Polynesian, the Bahamas and more. This trip usually includes 30 employees and their spouses and is al ALL expense paid trip to say thank you for a wonderful year. The employees on the trip includes executive staff, sales team members that have hit their annual number and MVP's from the various departments of finance, Marketing, engineering and client services. It's truly the trip of a lifetime.
  • Culture Club: Each quarter, the Culture Club sponsors events to foster internal culture. Bowling, Oktoberfest, Charitable event, Family Picnics are examples of sponsored events.
  • Movie screening for Product Launches: We give each product release an internal name from an upcoming movie, i.e. the Blue Steel release from Zoolander, the Task Force X release from Suicide Squad and The Bond release from James Bond. We celebrate and promote every product launch at xMatters with the appropriate movie screenings at theaters across the United States, Canada and Europe. We invite all employees as well as some customers and partners to join us as well.
