  • Awards & Recognition: “XFactor Award” - Recognizes employees who go above and beyond. Winners receive a $100 gift card and a signed certificate. Historically, about 10% of Xactly employees receive an X-Factor each quarter. “Who C.A.R.E.s Award”– This quarterly award recognizes two people whose actions during the quarter best exemplify our company’s core values of Customer Focus, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence (C.A.R.E.). The winners receive a signed certificate and $2,000. “Anniversary Awards” - Service awards to employees celebrating one, three, five, eight, and ten years of service. Employees can choose a gift from a wide selection of items.“President’s Award” - Once a year, approximately ten people are recognized for their outstanding contributions. Winners are announced at an All Hands meeting and receive a certificate and cash bonus.
  • CEO Orientation: Every new employee attends an orientation hosted by Xactly founder and CEO, Christopher Cabrera. This well-established practice encourages openness and respect between Xactlians and the executive staff. In fact, Xactly was just noted for having an exceptionally “clued in” management team in the Top Workplace awards from the Bay Area News Group. In this session, the importance of our core values and company mission are presented from the top down, ensuring we maintain our thriving culture as our company keeps growing.
  • XactlyOne: Our philanthropic foundation organizes volunteer opportunities for employees that strive to make a meaningful impact in the community. Helping others by sorting produce at Second Harvest Food Bank, or cleaning up the Guadalupe River, boosts employee connectedness and spirits. XactlyOne also hosts fun and charitable events such as the Halloween Costume Contest which has nearly 100% participation, BBQ’s where our CEO has been known to rock a Hawaiian shirt, and our annual Relay for Life Fundraiser, which has at least one Xactlian walking the track for an entire 24 hours in honor of a former employee who lost her life to cancer. To further encourage employees to give back, Xactly provides three paid volunteer days a year.
  • Intern Program: Every summer, Xactly welcomes bright students from renowned universities to intern in various departments. Our paid interns fully dive in and participate in a variety of business related initiatives. Not only do our interns find deep value in their internship, but our executives engage in the program as well through a number of events including executive-led lunch & learns. Interns also receive LinkedIn profile enhancing headshots with our Creative Director and LinkedIn and resume building sessions. A large amount of Xactly employees started as interns, and later developed into full-time employees. The program has been as advantageous for us, as it has been for our interns.
  • Cristo Rey High School Student Work Program: Cristo Rey Jesuit high school helps underprivileged students who couldn't otherwise afford a private education. The school partners with local businesses for their work-study program. By doing this, the students can pay for half their tuition through the work-study program. This year, we’ve had two amazing high school students work with us throughout the school year. They work with our accounting department, assisting with filing and other administrative tasks. They were also trained to cover the front desk, and they both do a great job of greeting customers and visitors professionally. We enjoyed having them so much, that we hired both, part-time, to work during the summer. They continue to gain valuable work experience, while receiving competitive hourly wages.
  • Best Buddies Program: Best Buddies International is the world’s largest nonprofit organization devoted solely to providing opportunities for friendship, employment, and leadership opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Over a year ago, we began employing our buddy, Ryan, through this program, and he has touched nearly everyone at the company with his positivity, humor, and enthusiasm for local sports. This year, Xactly was selected as Best Buddies Outstanding Employer of the Year! Ryan participated in Best Buddies Friendship Walk for the second year in a row, and with the help of Xactlians raised a total of $925!
  • All-Hands Meetings: This may sound like something that should be a given, but it's one of the activities that employees most appreciate as it continues our strong culture of openness and transparency. Each quarter, our global company tunes in to a live session broadcast from our headquarters to review highlights from the previous quarter, give recognition, and introduce new employees. New employees are asked to add a rubber band to the company’s rubber-band ball, a tradition that has continued for 12 years. The ball symbolizes that together, we are capable of different, far better things than we are on our own. While headquarters began the tradition, we now have rubber-band balls growing in all five of our locations.
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO: Xactly employees are not limited by a “set” number of vacation days based on tenure. Rather, they are empowered to control their personal time, and be accountable for the work and projects that need completion. This encourages a better work/life balance, while inspiring that the focus is on output, not face-time.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Resourcefulness and intuition; if they don’t know the answer, they find it. Candidates who strive to find creative solutions for problems and enjoy taking on new challenges. They thrive in environments where they can continuously learn and grow both personally and professionally. We look for candidates who are versatile and proactive when working in a group, but also have the ability to focus individually on tasks. We seek humble candidates who value feedback and who know which skills they need to improve upon to progress in their career. They also work most effectively when they’re around motivated people in dynamic environments. These candidates seek companies with service-focused initiatives and want to know that the work they do matters, and they believe in the solutions we provide to our customers.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Past proven success, strong work ethic and thought-leadership are all attention getters for us. We not only want to understand an applicant’s tangible skill set but also the ‘why’ behind what they love to do! We hire candidates who are resourceful and demonstrate knowledge and passion in the industry. On our initial call with a candidate, those who genuinely inquire about the growth plans of the company, our core values, and want to understand what opportunities we offer for development stand out. You can’t always find that info on a resume! When we ask candidates about their experience, those who proactively provide examples pertaining to teamwork, ownership, and integrity also stand out as good matches in both in skillset and culture.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

As a leader in the market, we are consistently focused on strategic growth, and the only way to do that is by hiring top-talent.  This coming year, we remain focused on hiring people who will not only help nurture our existing client base, but also people who can help drive our business forward, specifically by way of innovation, marketing and sales. It is our top priority to develop our growth plan around how we can continually serve our clients, both existing and future.

Our website provides extensive information about our company, culture, and why we do what we do! There is an entire page dedicated to sharing customer’s stories, successes, and ways our solution has improved their overall business. The Sales Performance Management industry is niche, but becoming familiar with current trends is a great place to start.
