  • Awards & Recognition: "XFactor" - Xactly recognizes people who go above and beyond. Winners receive a $100 gift card and a certificate. Historically, about 10% of Xactly employees receive an X-Factor each quarter. "Who C.A.R.E.s" - Once a quarter, Xactly recognizes two people whose actions during the quarter best exemplify C.A.R.E., the company’s core values of Customer Focus, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. The winners receive a certificate and $2,000. "Anniversary Awards" - Xactly offers service awards to employees at one, three, five, eight, and ten years of service. Employees receive the option to choose a gift from a wide selection of items. "President’s Award" - Once a year, approximately ten people are recognized for their outstanding contributions; winners receive stock.
  • CEO Orientation: Every employee that walks through Xactly’s doors gets an orientation directly from our CEO. This fosters our open door policy, encourages openness and respect between Xactlians and the executive staff, and allows our core values and mission to be presented from the top down, ensuring we maintain our thriving culture as our company continues to grow.
  • Professional Development: Professional development fosters employee engagement through learning, and at Xactly, professional development is strongly linked to our culture and our fiscal year corporate objectives. Xactly is investing in employees’ careers with its goal of 16 hours of professional development for all employees every quarter. Xactly created this program to promote growth and career development while giving employees the opportunity to gain new experience, broaden existing skills, and build relationships with colleagues in other parts of the business. It’s also a great way to utilize the tuition reimbursement program provided by Xactly, which reimburses employees up to $6,000 each year toward education costs.
  • XactlyOne: The company’s philanthropic foundation organizes volunteer opportunities for employees that strive to make a meaningful impact in the community. The rewarding experience of helping others through activities like sorting produce at Second Harvest Food Bank, or cleaning up the Guadalupe River, further strengthens our team. XactlyOne also hosts fun and charitable events like the Halloween Costume Contest which has nearly 100% participation, BBQ’s where our CEO has been known to rock a Hawaiian shirt, and our annual Relay for Life Fundraiser which has at least one Xactlian walking the track for an entire 24 hours in honor of a former employee who lost her life to cancer. To further encourage employees to give back, Xactly provides three paid volunteer days a year.
  • Intern Program: Every summer, Xactly welcomes bright students from prestigious universities to intern in various departments across the organization. Our paid interns are asked to dive in and participate, not go for coffee runs; one intern even developed a sales-related app that was beneficial for the business while doing his internship. We’re delighted to report that numerous Xactly employees started as interns and later developed into full-time employees. The program has been as advantageous for us as it has been for our interns.
  • Cristo Rey High School Student Work Program: Cristo Rey Jesuit high school is for underprivileged students who couldn't otherwise afford a private education. The school partners with Xactly and other local businesses for their work- study program. By doing this, the students are able to pay for half their tuition through the Work Study program. Throughout the year we have had four high school students delighting us with their enthusiasm and desire to learn and contribute. For example, one of our work-study interns created original artwork for our Instagram account, many helped Finance with its filing needs, and another mastered administrative tasks.
  • Best Buddies Program: Best Buddies International is the world’s largest nonprofit organization devoted solely to providing opportunities for friendships, jobs, and leadership training for people with developmental disabilities. Over a year ago we began employing Ryan through this program, and he has touched nearly everyone at the company with his positivity, humor, and enthusiasm for local sports. Ryan participated in Best Buddies Friendship Walk this year, and with the help of Xactlians was able to surpass his fundraising goal and raise a total of $2615. He ended up being the 4th highest individual fundraiser for the event!Eat Club
  • Eat Club: This subsidized lunch program has become a staff favorite. Each employee gets $100 every month to spend on meals they pick from an online menu. The flexibility and options to pick individual lunch choices is a huge perk for employees, in terms of both convenience and the ability to eat according to their individual dietary preferences and requirements. Many employees also choose to save their easily transportable meals for dinner, further increasing the convenience factor for our busy professionals. Employee wellness is incredibly important to Xactly, so in addition to our $200 gym membership subsidy and onsite facility, bi-weekly on-site massages, and complimentary Fitbits, providing our employees with Vegan, Paleo, and other nutritious food choices is another way for us to promote wellness.
  • All-Hands Meetings: Quarterly, the entire company gets together to review highlights from the previous quarter, give recognition, and introduce new employees. New employees are asked to add a rubber band to the company’s rubber-band ball, a tradition that has continued since the company barely had enough rubber bands to do more than sling them at each other. It symbolizes that together; we are capable of different and far better things than we are on our own because each of us comes to work with a different perspective and background. While headquarters began the tradition, we now have rubber-band balls growing in all four of our other locations. As the ball—and our company—grows, it’s incredibly important to maintain respect and acknowledgement of our organization’s diversity.
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO): Xactly employees are not limited by a “set” number of vacation days based on tenure. Rather, they are empowered to control their own time off and be accountable for the work and projects that need completion.     What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

    Resourcefulness and intuition; if they don’t know the answer, they find it. Candidates who strive to find creative solutions for problems and enjoy taking on new challenges. They thrive in environments where they can continuously learn and grow both personally and professionally. We look for candidates who are versatile, and proactive when working in a group, but also have the ability to focus individually on tasks. We seek humble candidates who value feedback and who know which skills they need to improve to progress in their career. They also work most effectively when they’re around motivated people in dynamic environments. These candidates seek companies with initiatives to give back to the community, they want to know the work they do matters, and they believe in the solutions we provide to our customers.

    What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

    Past proven success through good choices and strong work ethic in their environment or as an industry leader are attention getters for us. We not only want to understand an applicant’s tangible skills but also the ‘why’ behind what they love to do! We hire candidates who are resourceful and demonstrate knowledge and passion in the industry. On our initial call with a candidate, those who genuinely inquire about the growth plans of the company, our core values, and want to understand what opportunities we offer for development stand out. You can’t always find that info on a resume! It helps us to understand the candidate’s thought process. When we ask candidates about their experience, those who proactively provide examples pertaining to teamwork, ownership, and integrity also stand out as good matchs in both in skillset and culture.

    Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

    As a fairly newly publically traded company we are scaling; not only by diversifying our portfolio of new clients as we move into various industries, but as a SaaS company we are renewing clients every year. Our customers come first, in everything we do. It is our top priority to create our growth plan around how we can continually serve our clients best. Recently, we’ve focused on further building two departments here. Professional Services, which has roles within client facing capacities, is a large focus area so we can continue to serve our increasing client base. Marketing is another area of focus to ensure we are staying relevant to top talent in the market. We strive to create innovative ways to reach out to candidates and capitalize on emerging technologies.  

    What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

    Our website provides extensive information about our company, culture, and why we do what we do! There is an entire page dedicated to sharing customer’s stories, successes, and ways our solution has improved their overall business. The compensation industry is niche, but becoming familiar with current trends is a great place to start. We believe in utilizing compensation as a motivator to drive human behavior. Ensuring companies are paying people correctly, and motivating them to continually work hard, is resulting in massive ROI for our customers. This idea is growing and becoming a regular topic of conversation not just in sales teams, but also department stores, car dealerships, and even banks! Some ways that candidates can become familiar with this concept is to stay in tune with media around this topic, blogs, news articles, and even checking out our social media channels and blog regularly.
