  • Wellness for Life: Our Wellness for Life program provides employees and their spouses, enrolled in our medical plan comprehensive biometric screening and health coaching. By participating in the program, employees qualify for discounts on their medical insurance premiums while gaining important health information. The coaching program provides employees the opportunity to develop specific goals and targets while also providing educational resources and a robust web portal for health management.
  • Community Art Gallery: We have partnered with a local art gallery to establish several rotating art displays in the hospital. The rotating art enhances the physical appearance as well as overall feel of our facility. Employees enjoy learning more about the local artists when new art arrives and patients enjoy the changing scenery. Our largest art display is in our Infusion Center were cancer patients enjoy a rotating gallery of pieces from talented local artists.
  • Service Awards: Annually we provide employees with service awards based on their years of service with the organization. At our summer employee appreciation picnic, service award recipients are honored by our leadership team. Recipients beginning with ten years of service receive a monetary gift. Employees who have reached 25 years of service or more receive a personal gift. Past gift items have ranged from box seats at sporting events for an employee's favorite team, custom golf clubs, tickets to specific events, gardening equipment, jewelry and more. We are proud of the time our employees have contributed to our organization and feel it is important to recognize this commitment with a personal gift item.
  • Flex Credits: At the time of annual benefits enrollment, employees have the opportunity to convert PTO hours to a Flex Credits balance. The PTO hours are converted to dollars and paid out during the following calendar year to assist employees in paying their benefit premiums. This provides employees an additional use for PTO hours while allowing them to lower the out of pocket cost of their medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits. Additionally, as a seniority benefit, employees with at least 20 years of service may convert PTO hours to Flex Credits without enrolling in benefits.
  • PTO Reward Program: Our PTO Reward Program provides full and part-time employees with up to 16 hours of free PTO annually based on meeting certain financial targets. The PTO hours are added to employee PTO banks quarterly and may be used however the employee may choose. PTO hours earned through the PTO Reward Program may be used for a vacation, personal day, time off to spend with family or converted to Flex Credits to assist in paying for benefits. The possibilities are endless!
  • Hydroponic Garden: In our main hospital lobby we have added a Hydroponic Garden. This garden provides a green space within the hospital but also provides fresh vegetables and herbs for use in our cafeteria and kitchen. The items grown in the hydroponic garden are used to create healthy meals for employees, patients and visitors.
  • Community Health Dens: Our organization has partnered with local schools for drug prevention programs and Health Education "Dens". Our staff provide shadowing opportunities and mentoring for students who attend the Health Den Program through local schools. We regularly host school groups, provide learning opportunities and resources for local schools.
  • Hospital Week: Our Hospital Week has become an annual event. Employees receive a hospital gift each day during the week and free meals and snacks. We take the week of recognize our staff members throughout the organization for various accomplishments and achievements. Nurses receive nursing specific awards and recognition. Our employees reaching service milestones receive gifts and the week ends with a large, festive all employee picnic, featuring a band, barbeque and fun atmosphere.
  • Competitive Compensation Programs: All employees at Western Reserve Hospital are paid through a Pay for Performance process, allowing employees to impact their raise potential with individual performance results. Employees are evaluated annually and provided Pay for Performance pay increases based on specific measurements. Additionally, Western Reserve Hospital provides an employee bonus program that gives bonus potential based on patient satisfaction and financial performance of the hospital. Western Reserve recognizes the importance of both individual contributions and teamwork to meet our goals and objectives; our Pay for Performance and bonus programs provide employee incentive and recognition for both.
  • PTO Purchase Program: Western Reserve Hospital implemented the PTO Purchase Program, which gives new hires the opportunity to purchase PTO that can be used immediately upon hire, rather than waiting to accrue PTO. What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

The vision of Western Reserve Hospital is to be all about the patient, and we work to recruit individuals who share that vision. We believe that recruiting the best and brightest individuals, committed to health outcomes, top healthcare delivery and the patient experience is key to meeting our goals. There are several steps to the recruitment process, including a phone interview with Human Resources, an in person meeting with Human Resources, and interview with the hiring manager and often times meeting with future coworkers within the department. We strive to provide candidates with the most comprehensive and detailed look at the workplace environment, to ensure they fully understand the job and their prospective team. We look for dynamic individuals to help us move our hospital and community forward, to improve delivery of the safest, highest quality care.

A prospective employee can get our attention by highlighting career successes, including a focus on high quality patient care and efforts to improve delivery especially in clinical roles. We look for candidates who fit our culture of caring, with a focus on compassion and empathy. As we continue to grow in locations and services, nursing and allied health positions are in high demand, along with various support and clerical positions.
