  • Talented, Close-Knit Team: Wavestone US is a small, close-knit team, and so it is important to ensure that candidates fit with the company culture. Each employee is an ambassador and representative of the Wavestone brand, therefore it is very important we hire individuals that are Motivated & Entrepreneurial, Enthusiastic & Team Players, and Professional. Wavestone US prides itself on a constant “best-foot forward” approach. Employees in Wavestone culture are often highly attentive to detail, and exercise the ability to go above and beyond expectations. This above-expectation delivery is also a source of pride for our employees, and we regularly receive compliments from our clients.
  • Access to Management: Wavestone management is always open to suggestions about how to improve the company and working environment of employees. Whether it is on a project or in the home office, employees are free to make suggestions that will be considered. Calendars of the Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers are public to the team and they are available to meet to discuss any topics. Partner’s office doors are almost often open, and the Wavestone US office also has an open floor plan, making it easy to approach all other management.
  • Company Transparency: As a small, close-knit team, information is shared from senior managers all the way down to entry-level employees by: Team meetings: On a bi-monthly basis, team will gather to discuss the events of the previous months and upcoming business dealings. Management will share business developments, and have the team to ask questions about the current business environment and firm activities. Focus groups: held on a bi-monthly basis allow for a more private discussion about the current status of firm business dealings and internal activities. During focus groups, smaller groups of ~10 employees sit with the partners to have an open discussion about any topics related to the firm. These focus groups are designed to ensure every employee’s voice can be heard.
  • Generous Financial Rewards: Wavestone offers a 401k program with up to 5% matching. This high matching rate is vested on an annual schedule to align with other sharing mechanisms in the company, namely the annual bonus – which, as discussed above is distributed to almost all employees, but increased even further on a merit basis – as well as an annual profit sharing which rewards all employees (regardless of level) based on the success of the company.
  • Inspiring Work: There are a few reasons that Wavestone US employees take pride in their work: Size and scale of projects: Wavestone employees are also often proud of the size and scale of projects they work on. Projects can often of multi-million dollar value, with many countries and stakeholder teams involved. When an employee is able to manage the complexities and scale of such projects, it is especially gratifying for them. Innovative projects: Though not all bank projects can be are truly exciting, areas of expertise for Wavestone include innovative topics such as cybersecurity, IT management, and other innovative new methods or styles of management. Exploring these topics places Wavestone employees at the crest of the innovation frontier, and allows the team to feel like true pioneers.
  • Work/Life Balance: Wavestone US offers a generous 25+ days of PTO per year. These days can also be ‘saved up’ for use in later years or, alternatively, if a long vacation is planned employees can sometimes ‘dip in’ to their PTO for the upcoming year. All Wavestone employees also have access to, a service that offers discounted tickets to movies, sporting events, museums & parks, and other cultural events. Employees are welcome to use the service to buy multiple tickets, so friends and families can be included as well.
  • Control Over Company Direction: The main way employees can directly influence the firm’s direction is through participation in groups called “Task Forces”. Task forces are subdivisions of the team that take responsibility for important aspects of the company’s advancement. Current task forces include: • Recruitment • Training • Knowledge Management • Social Activities • Marketing & Branding • HR • Finance & Target Operating Model Each taskforce is comprised of employees from multiple levels. These task forces not only serve as the team directly responsible for successful results in their category, but also a unified channel of contact if any employee has an idea they would like to see become reality.
  • Social Activities: Happy hours: Wavestone US hosts happy hours on a monthly basis for all members of the team Holiday party: Wavestone US hosts an annual holiday part to which all employees as well as their significant others are invited Summer party: Wavestone US hosts an annual summer party in an outdoor location for all employees Team-building trips: The company hosts the entire team in an off-site location, and holds team building activities, recreational activities, dinners, and more over the course of 2-3 days. All expenses are covered by the company. As an example, the most recent team building trip (Summer 2016) was a 2 day trip to Miami with team building exercises, beach visits, dinner parties, and a tour of the Everglades.
  • Women of Wavestone (WoW: Wavestone US has a female interest group within it, called WoW (Women of Wavestone). WoW is self-organized with a charter to increase the female footprint within the company. Since the start of 2017, Wavestone US has increased its gender ratio from 15% to 21% female and intends to keep up the trend.
  • Leadership Opportunities: Wavestone encourages employees to research and develop thought leadership on the subjects that interest them. If an employee wishes to investigate a topic of their interest (e.g. blockchain technology, cybersecurity), the Wavestone US team readily encourages investigation and publically promotes any content they create.
