We asked Vibrant Credit Union to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Save the Community Day: We believe so strongly in making our communities vibrant that we provide 8 hours of "volunteer time off" annually to each team member. This could happen in a single day, or be broken up into smaller commitments over time. The only rule is that the time must be volunteered to a 501(c)(3) organization.
  • The Vibrant Cares Campaign: Vibrant Credit Union has long held an interest in giving back to the local community. The philanthropic spirit is simply a part of our DNA. We take great pride and pleasure in helping improve the lives of people in the communities we're involved in. The Vibrant Cares Campaign provides our employees an opportunity to select from up to three local and three national charities to provide contributions...all of which have a mission of benefiting children. Employees can opt to make regular bi-weekly paycheck deductions or to provide a one time annual donation.
  • Thanksgiving Dinner Program: In the spirit of Thanksgiving, each year we ask our members to give us names of families who, without help, might not have a holiday dinner. We then deliver a big, fat turkey and all the trimmings to local families. We do all we can to help create a more vibrant community.
  • Vibrant Ice Cream Truck: Take a minute to reflect on some of your fondest memories as a child. Chances are they include racing after an ice cream truck as it ambled through your neighborhood. We took that experience and re-imagined it with a Vibrant Flair. We top off all our philanthropic efforts (no pun intended) the best way we know how: with ice cream! That's right. Vibrant is the proud owner of a genuine ice cream truck. We use it to deliver free treats to the neighborhood. If free ice cream doesn’t make the community awesome, we simply don’t know what will.
  • Motivational Moments: Most tellers start their days with a cup of coffee—ours start with line dancing. We believe happy employees make for happy members, so each of our locations kicks off the day with a Motivational Moment. These 15-minute company meetings can be anything from musical chairs to a paper airplane contest; the only rule is everybody must participate and nobody is allowed to talk shop. Seriously—no business talk. Nothing ruins a perfectly good morning sing-along like the word “deadline.”
  • 401K Match Program: Vibrant Credit Union’s 401(k) plan is a great way to save for retirement by providing staff with an opportunity to set aside money from each paycheck (either before or after taxes are taken out) through Standard IRA or Roth IRA contributions. Vibrant provides a discretionary match opportunity based on employee contribution up to 6%.
  • Education Reimbursement: Vibrant provides financial support to employees who participate in externally sponsored educational courses, which meet certain criteria. This support is intended to enhance employees’ professional development and skills and knowledge related to our business. Active employees that work 30 or more hours per week with 12 months of service are eligible to apply for reimbursement for qualified tuition expenses.
  • Jeans Day is Everyday: We firmly believe that you don't need to be in a three piece suit to provide sound financial service and advice to members. Thus, staff have the option to dress professionally or in business casual attire 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday and are encouraged to "dress for their day".
  • T-Shirts and Tennis Shoes: At Vibrant, we celebrate Fridays with our "Casual for a Cause" program. Team members may elect to contribute $5 per month for the opportunity to wear a Vibrant T-Shirt and Tennis Shoes. These contributions are then distributed to our monthly charity or philanthropic initiative of the month.
  • 24 Hour Gym: To best provide our employees the opportunity to be happy and healthy, we provide a 24-hour gym at our corporate center. Healthy employees tend to be happier and more productive. We know that sometimes everyone needs a little motivation to get the ball rolling, so we brought the gym to the workplace. We provide gym memberships to staff members working at branch locations outside of our headquarters community to ensure that they have the opportunity to invest in their health as well.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Vibrant has a unique and engaging culture.  We take fun seriously and as such look for folks who are willing to do the same.  We seek to attract individuals dedicated to creating a unique and engaging banking experience for our members.  In short, we search for employees who have an outstanding work ethic, are highly dedicated to operating in a team based environment, and are willing to engage wholeheartedly in our playful culture.  We focus on cultivating happy healthy people, both personally and professionally. We hire the most passionate, intelligent, happy, caring and hard-working people we can find, and then we work hard to nurture, explore, and unleash these talents and traits in big ways.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Vibrant Credit Union is growing at a rapid pace.  As such, our staffing needs frequently change and are constantly evolving.  We're always looking for engaging, team-oriented, and knowledgeable individuals who want to join us in our mission of improving members lives and redefining the banking industry.  We do our best to identify each employee's unique strengths and talents to ensure that they're placed in roles where they can use those abilities on a regular basis.  All that said, roles we're regularly looking for outstanding talent in include our Teller and Personal Banker positions.  We also seek to attract talented leaders with limited banking experience through our Retail Leadership Development Program.
