Perks and Programs

We asked Ultra Corporation to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Flexible Work Program: Employees have the convenience of maintaining flexible work hours, including unlimited vacation and sick days, by working from virtually anywhere.
  • Core Values Program: Ultra's core values include integrity, honesty, being the best, teamwork, adding value, and doing what it takes. At each monthly meeting, employees are recognized by their peers and management for exhibiting these core values.
  • Ultra Applause Program: There is a dedicated page on Ultra's SharePoint site where employees can nominate team members for exhibiting exemplary qualities. By participating, both the nominator and the nominee receive $20 in “Ultra Bucks” to go towards our Ultra Company store, where employees can buy items like t-shirts, ball caps, and accessories branded with the Ultra logo. This program is designed to promote a constructive team atmosphere and to share our appreciation for others. Additionally, it instills a sense of company loyalty and comradery.
  • Blogger of the Month Award: Each month, the employee responsible for the most blogs or a few particularly fantastic blogs receives up to a $500 Amazon gift card.
  • Book Club: Each year, Ultra management chooses one book for the entire team to read. At our yearly company meeting, employees gather for a team dinner and other social events and activities to engage in discussion about the book, and how the lessons learned can be applied to our daily work.
  • Birthday & Anniversary Recognition: During our monthly company meeting, employees experiencing a birthday or work anniversary receive company-wide recognition. These special dates are also published on our company calendar.
  • FitBit Challenge: Ultra encourages health and wellness amongst our employees. Every month, there is a company-wide competition for who can log the most steps, as recorded by Fitbit. The winner receives "Ultra bucks," or money that can go towards purchasing various items in our company logo-wear store, as well as bragging rights!
  • Guess That Movie: One of the Senior Managers sets his Skype for Business bio line as a quote from a movie. The employee who correctly guesses the movie the quote is from receives a free AMC movie pass. This is a weekly contest to promote a fun workplace and comradery amongst our team.
  • Employee of the Month Award: During our company meeting each quarter, one employee is recognized as Employee of the Month. This employee receives money towards Ultra's Company Store, as well as a cash bonus.

How to Get Hired

We asked Ultra Corporation for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

As a company that operates virtually, we look for ambition, leadership, and independence in our employees. They should be self-sufficient and driven to complete their responsibilities with high quality effort and deliver on time without the need for supervision. The ideal Ultra employee is bright and enthusiastic with great people skills, and someone who is able to apply their domain knowledge to benefit our clients and company. We look for highly motivated individuals who are willing to jump in and do what it takes to meet the needs of our clients and our team.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

It is always impressive when a prospective employee or interview candidate has clearly taken the time to research our company, what we do, and the educational resources on our website. It catches our attention when a candidate has submitted a form to attend a webinar or read one of our whitepapers, because this shows they want to get to know our company just as much we want to get to know them. We also look for candidates who are extremely prepared for their interviews, as we believe this skill directly translates to one's ability to master client presentations and contribute value.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are looking to continue building our organization by adding more recent college graduates to the team. Currently, we have three resources in the Business Consultant role, two of which were hired within the last month, and we are looking to add more! We are also recruiting in our Sales and Marketing Team as well as for PMI certified Project Managers with experience in enterprise technology and business process implementations.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
