Perks and Programs

We asked Ultra Corporation to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Flexible Work Program: Employees have the convenience of maintaining flexible work hours, including unlimited vacation and sick days, by working from virtually anywhere.
  • Core Values Program: Ultra's core values include integrity, honesty, being the best, teamwork, adding value, and doing what it takes. At each monthly meeting, employees are recognized by their peers and management for exhibiting these core values.
  • Ultra Applause Program: There is a dedicated page on Ultra's internal team website where employees can nominate their colleagues for exhibiting exemplary qualities. These entries are also highlighted during our monthly company meetings. By participating, both the nominator and the nominee receive $20 in “Ultra Bucks” to go towards our Ultra Company store, where employees can buy items like t-shirts, ball caps, and accessories branded with the Ultra logo. This program is designed to promote a constructive team atmosphere and to share our appreciation for others. Additionally, it instills a sense of company loyalty and comradery.
  • Ultra Trivia: During every company meeting, we reserve time for a couple fun rounds of Ultra Trivia. Each question is about an Ultra employee, and the person who submits the correct answer first receives recognition and Ultra bucks that go to our company store. This game tests the knowledge of our colleagues, and allows them to learn a bit more about their teammates in a fun and engaging way.
  • Client Referral Incentive: At Ultra, we strive for cohesion between all of our departments. We especially want to get all employees involved in the selling process, even if they're not directly in sales. For each new client brought in, the Ultra employee who referred them will receive a $500 cash bonus.
  • Birthday & Anniversary Recognition: During our monthly company meeting, employees experiencing a birthday or work anniversary receive company-wide recognition. These special dates are also published on our company calendar.
  • FitBit Challenge: Ultra encourages health and wellness amongst our employees. Every month, there is a company-wide competition for who can log the most steps, as recorded by Fitbit. The winner receives "Ultra bucks," or money that can go towards purchasing various items in our company logo-wear store, as well as bragging rights and recognition at company meetings.
  • Welcome Packages: Every new employee receives a hand-curated welcome package. This includes an Ultra mug and pen to get their swag collection started, in addition to local and artisan goodies like craft coffee and chocolates, and a handwritten welcome note.
  • Employee of the Quarter Award: During our company meetings, one employee is recognized as Employee of the Quarter for exceptional performance. This employee receives money towards Ultra's Company Store, as well as a cash bonus.
  • Additional Bonus Programs: Throughout the year, employees can be considered for a variety of bonus compensation programs, including incentive compensation, discretionary bonus, annual merit increase. Incentive compensation: allocated from company profits to high performing employees. Discretionary bonus: given for above and beyond, exceptional performance throughout the year. Annual merit increase: annual base compensation increase based on each employee's contribution to company success.

How to Get Hired

We asked Ultra Corporation for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We place primary importance on the ambition, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm possessed by a potential employee. Assessing these characteristics allow us to evaluate a candidate based on their core values and cultural fit, rather than just their existing skill set and business acumen. We look for highly motivated, bright individuals with great people skills who are willing to jump in and do what it takes to meet the needs of our clients and our team.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

It is always impressive when a prospective employee or interview candidate has clearly taken the time to research our company and the educational resources on our website. It catches our attention when a candidate requests to attend an Ultra webinar, reads one of our whitepapers, or invests time learning about our people through social media. This shows they want to get to know our company just as much we want to get to know them. We also look for candidates who are extremely prepared for their interviews, as we believe this skill directly translates to one's ability to master client presentations and contribute value.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We have developed a need for more specialized resources as a direct result of the expansion of our service offerings. In the next year, we are looking to hire supply chain experts, information technology architects, and organizational change management consultants to meet the growing needs of our clients. In addition, we will continue to expand our project manager skills and business consulting resources with the best talent available in the marketplace.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Candidates interested in applying for a position at Ultra Consultants should refer to the Career page on our website, or email contact@ultraconsultants.com.
