Perks and Programs

We asked to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Monthly Cultural Events: Having a company culture that our employees are excited to be apart of, is one of's top priorities. Our employees work hard and play just as hard. Each month, the culture team plans at minimum one event for our employees that embody our three core values. Activities include trivia nights, kickball tournaments, game shows, and happy hours. The events provide an opportunity for employees of different departments to have a chance to get to know one another in a fun and unique atmosphere.
  • ULeader Program: Identifying our emerging talent and equip them with the tools and resources in order to seamlessy transition into a management role. Key learnings and development to ensure success in their promotion to people management.
  • Award-Winning Collaborative Workspace: is headquartered in a 22,021 square foot converted warehouse in Downtown San Diego. The workspace was designed with details to reflect the transparent and collaborative culture of the company. The Culture and leadership team worked with local designers to cultivate a variety of shared working spaces including an indoor park area with live trees, sunken living room, two glass-walled conference rooms, and a submerged speakeasy-style bunker. The company’s bar, known as the Watering Hole, also serves as space for employees to share creative ideas over pints of local brews.
  • Work-from-home Opportunities: Flexible schedules are available for exempt employees, including different daily start times and two telework days a month. Some of our exempt employees love to get in early and leave early; others work best in the evening. As long as they are here during "core" hours, they are free to dictate their own schedule.
  • Tuition Rembursement: After 90 days, employees have access to a $1,500 tuition reimbursement to put toward courses that will enhance one's skills and career path. The tech industry is continually evolving, encouraging our employees to stay relevant and ahead of the market not only benefits the bottom line but also keeps employees engaged in their work.
  • Paid Volunteer Hours: values giving back. That is why we have paid volunteer opportunities for employees during the work week. Employees have delivered meals for Meals on Wheels, fundraised for Helen Woodward Animal Shelter, and volunteered with Special Olympics San Diego. Additionally, if the company hits its monthly revenue goal, a portion of the money is donated to a nonprofit organization of the employees' choosing.
  • The UE Foundation: launched The UE Foundation in 2018 as a way to give back to the San Diego community. The foundation takes all proceeds from rentals of our fantastic office space and gives them right back to nonprofits in the community like The Special Olympics and The San Diego Police Foundation.
  • Dog Days: Man's (and woman's) best friend deserves to be by your side. That's why twice a week you can bring Fido to the office with you, and take breaks during the day to play fetch at Petco Park across the street.
  • Free Downtown Parking: While we love our home in downtown San Diego, we also know parking here can be a hassle. That is why we offer free parking for employees starting on their 6-month anniversary.
  • Lunch N Learn: Our employees have a diverse skillset and they love to share it. Opportunities for employees to teach their fellow teammates different skills such as html, public speaking, SEO strategies, etc. why enjoying a meal together.

How to Get Hired

We asked for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

There are nine key characteristics that we look for in prospective employees. These key characteristics make up the three core values of UE and tell us whether or not someone's a match for our family or not.  - Ownership (Someone who's not afraid to put fate in their own hands)  - Innovation (Someone who's always thinking of improvements)  - Creativity (Someone who doesn't believe in thinking inside the box) - Passion (Someone who shows a true connection with their work)  - Dedication (Someone who's not afraid to come in early and stay late)  - Results Driven (Someone who takes action based on data)  - Communication (Someone who's not afraid to step up and speak out)  - Autonomy (Someone who can set their own course) - Fun (Someone who knows how to re-energize)

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

On our application page, we asked for each applicant to tell us which of our core values they identify with the most and why, as well as what makes them unique. That's their chance to really stand out and give us an idea of who they truly are as an individual. We get some amazing and funny responses that make me want to pick up the phone and call them immediately. We also have had candidates walk in the door during the day and hand-deliver their application. We love this initiative, and it usually signals to us that they have the drive to be successful here.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We're looking to expand our Sales and Customer Support teams with Account Managers, Sales Consultants and Customer Experience Consultants. We're also expanding our internal platform offerings and looking for innovative engineers to help us create new technology.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Visit our careers page and stay up to date on our current openings. If they see a potential fit, they should apply as soon as they can. Connect with us on LinkedIn and follow us on social media to stay up to date on the business itself and get a glimpse of what life is like inside UE. If they find themselves in the San Diego area feel free to pop in and say hello. We love visitors.
