Perks and Programs

We asked TCG, Inc to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Telework: TCG has adopted a telecommute-first model, where management prefers and advocates for employees to work remotely. Nearly ¾ of all TCGers telecommute full-time. As 97% of our staff live in the DC metro area, our telecommute model keeps a lot of cars off of the road, conserving approximately 42,000 gallons of fuel each year. Because of this, in 2017 TCG was recognized by the Washington, DC Department of Transportation and Commuter Connections for its exceptional telework program.
  • Commuter Benefits: TCG pays for an annual bikeshare membership (a service of Capital Bikeshare), and reimburses up to $200 a year for bike-related expenses for staff who use a bicycle as their primary mode of transportation. Additionally, employees are reimbursed up to $75 for walking shoes twice a year if an employee primarily walks to onsite work. We also offer a match on Metro (mass transit) expenses, pre-tax mass transit/parking, and use the Metro SmartBenefits program.
  • TCG Sprees: Once per month, TCG provides groups of employees up to $1,000 to organize social gatherings that can be anything TCGers wish to do together. The only restrictions are that the outing must be open to all TCG employees, and at least six TCGers must be involved. Employees have organized trips to sporting events, played paintball, gone fishing, learned how to scuba dive, held cooking classes in their homes, painted (pictures of) their pets, and many other events.
  • Ticket Giveaways: TCG provides pairs of theatre and sporting event tickets to employees. Employees peruse a list of available tickets, choose which they want, and then pick the tickets up at the box office on the day of the event. Employees can claim up to three pairs of tickets per year.
  • Adoption Assistance: In addition to parental leave for adopting parents who are full-time TCGers, those saints who adopt a child (age 18 or under) are eligible for a reimbursement of up to $16,000 per adoption to help cover legal fees, court costs, adoption agency fees, and travel expenses. TCGers can also allocate up to the IRS limit in pre-tax income to a flexible spending account each year to help cover expenses.
  • Bonus.ly: While it’s nice to be recognized by your employer, we like to give our employees the opportunity to recognize one another as well. We provide a Bonus.ly (www.bonus.ly) account to every TCG employee. The monthly ration of 100 Core Value Points can be awarded to coworkers who exemplify our core values and do a great job. Earned points can be cashed in for gift cards, charitable donations, and even paid time off. Last year 3 employees got a day off because of their coworkers’ awards!
  • Backup Child Care: Life happens. Sometimes the babysitter gets sick, or the kid gets sick and can't go to school but it’s difficult to take a day off yourself. Emergency in-home childcare helps on days when regular childcare is not an option. TCG makes the service available to staff and picks up the bulk of the tab.
  • Fitness Competitions: All employees are invited, through the Incentfit app, to participate in monthly fitness competitions. A TCGer can link their fitness tracker to the app and see how their fitness accomplishments measure up to their coworkers’. Prizes are given out quarterly to those who win the competitions and annually for those who had a stellar year.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Student loan debt is on the verge of becoming a crisis for many Americans. TCG, via FutureFuel.io, contributes up to $5,000 over 6 years to supplement the repayment of our employees’ student loans.
  • Credit Monitoring: Keeping a close eye on your personal information is an important, but daunting, part of day-to-day life. TCG has made it easier for our employees to do with access to services ID Shield or Identity Guard.
