How to Get Hired
We asked Talent Plus, Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.
What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
Positivity and exactness are tickets to admission. We accept people based upon who they are and their framework of needs, not the framework of ourselves, so we look for evidence of an individualized and caring approach. We operate on relationships. People who thrive at Talent Plus are intentional about buidling positive relationships. Individuals don't have to be extroverted, but must have strength in connecting to others to build healthy teams. Our business is complex and sophisticated; curious individuals with an insatiable desire to learn are a great fit. We don't have a lot or rules/regulations, so we look for ambuiguity tolerance and self-direction. We look for demonstrated focus (fundatmentally about biological energy and its direction). We look for assertiveness -- associates who can express their needs/goals. We select for integrity. Associates at Talent Plus know fellow associates act upon the best interests of our clients and one another.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
We are always recruiting. When a candidate goes beyond "applying," it gets our attention. An example of this is a unique, interesting cover letter: A candidate compared great companies and Talent Plus to Greek yogurt, "it's about the culture." It set them apart through creative courage. An individualized approach sets people apart. When a candidate takes the time to learn our recruiter's name and does their homework on who we are and expresses it in some fashion during the process, it gets our attention. We notice when a candidate has good questions. Applicants are making important life decisions and those who fit best bring good questions. When talented people have the opportunity to express their talents, we take notice, e.g. when someone loves their job and performs it with excellence, whether a server at a restaurant, acting as a volunteer or performing their work role with excellence.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
Technology, research and sales roles to support our strategic growth. This includes Java developers and other software developers, research and data scientists as well as sales professionals who understand our industry and possess a consultative sales approach.
What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
Visit the Careers page on Talent Plus' website, www.talentplus.com, and complete an application. Candidates will have an opportunity to upload their resume to start the process. As well, they should become as familiar with Talent Plus - our culture and the solutions we offer -- as possible so when they arrive for an in-person interview, they will have questions to ask those with whom they visit. If they don't want to apply online, they can simply call our recruiters directly at 1.800.VARSITY and ask for Kyle Bruss or Kesha Harris.
