Perks and Programs

We asked SyncStream Solutions to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Benefits programs: SyncStream was founded through collaboration with an employee benefits consulting firm, so the company practices what it preaches by offering benefits programs that meet employees’ needs and lifestyles. A startup, SyncStream offers an inclusive structured benefits program that rivals that of any well-established company. Offerings include a robust medical benefits as well as a retirement savings plan and voluntary benefits.
  • Company celebrations: SyncStream celebrates employees in big and small ways, making each individual feel like they’re part of something greater than themselves. Employees may engage in weeks of festivities leading up to a new product launch or a formal holiday party. During certain times of year, the company’s celebrations are more frequent and informal, which is a reflection of SyncStream’s fun, inclusive, and enjoyable culture. Recently, SyncStream celebrated a solution launch with a week’s worth of festivities for employees. In planning, SyncStream’s President focused on making the events thoughtful, team-oriented and fun, as she does with all company celebrations. The daily festivities included decorations throughout the office, gift bags, contests, free lunch and an ice cream social. Employees were also permitted to dress casually throughout the week.
  • Bereavement support: When life takes unexpected turns, SyncStream believes taking care of their own is paramount, and it offers unparalleled support during times of need. SyncStream understands that each person grieves loss differently and needs to take the time to heal. As such, the company offers grief and bereavement support to all employees. For example, when a SyncStream employee died of a sudden illness this year, the company came together as a family to support the entire staff by offering bereavement needs upon her passing. Before that, when this staff member was ill, the company created flexible schedules to assist in providing companionship and support for her family. SyncStream also provided financial support for care services for the employee.
  • Internal growth opportunities: SyncStream offers opportunities for employees to expand their knowledge and grow into positions throughout the company. Employees participate in formalized training on business logic to help them become experts who are better able to better serve customers, and SyncStream is continually working to formalize and fine-tune these processes. As evidence of this advancement program, one employee who began their career as the customer service representative is now running a development staff of six. The sky is the limit in terms of growth at SyncStream, and company leadership takes the time to recognize and award employee progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Employee feedback: Since its inception, SyncStream has heavily valued employee feedback and has developed a schedule for receiving these critical internal assessments. On a regular basis, employees of SyncStream provide their feedback through surveys and listening sessions. From there, SyncStream creates a plan to address their comments, ideas, or critiques, which is folded into the company’s strategic plan for the upcoming year.
  • Software improvements: In 2016, SyncStream pledged to constantly improve and develop new software; they call it SyncStream 2.0. To achieve this goal, SyncStream puts employees on the front line in various departments to determine what products are best suited to fit customer needs and what software support is needed, such as a ticketing or new accounting system. With this program, SyncStream encourages employees to take initiative, research new opportunities and provide recommendations on ways to better serve customers. This is another example of how SyncStream values employee feedback and uses it to better the company as a whole.

How to Get Hired

We asked SyncStream Solutions for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

First and foremost, a prospective employee is a great fit for SyncStream if they have the relevant skills and experience for the position. A qualified candidate should be able to work independently, collaborate on a team, and thrive in an evolving and dynamic organization. Roles are always shifting and expectations within those roles can change. This individual is not afraid of sharing new ideas for company initiatives and is a team player.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Prospective employees can get SyncStream’s attention by explaining what they can do for the company rather than what they need from it. A successful interviewee can clearly articulate how they always strive for personal growth, but they won’t make the interview solely about themselves. SyncStream looks for “big thinkers” and problem solvers who would be a positive addition to multiple areas of the company.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

SyncStream is particularly focused on hiring sales, customer service representatives, and sales support positions. Each of these positions will play an instrumental role in the company’s growth plans for this year and beyond.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Interested candidates should visit SyncStream’s LinkedIn page for information on open positions. We’d also recommend candidates connect and network with any current SyncStream employees or others familiar with the organization: We’ve seen great success hiring through internal referrals. We’re also exploring relationships with companies that work in developing STEM careers.
