Perks and Programs

We asked Sugar Mountain to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • The Beecher's Foundation: As part of our mission to Change the Way America eats, we’ve created The Beecher's Foundation (www.beechersfoundation.org), a nonprofit supported by our family of companies. Aimed at building a better food future for all, the Foundation educates and inspires people to eat real food. The Foundation's youth-oriented Pure Food Kids Workshop has educated and empowered over 105,000 grade school students to make healthy shopping and eating choices for life. The adult program, Sound Food Uprising, intends to change the supply of overly processed, heavily sugared, additive-laden food in the Puget Sound region.
  • Flex Time: Flexible scheduling is part of our work/life balance philosophy. Many jobs have complete flex time within core office hours and some team members have access to compressed work weeks. People who have jobs with customer service responsibilities have opportunities to swap shifts with coworkers and may request shift changes based on personal preferences, student schedules, to care for a sick family member, and to attend to personal obligations.
  • Great Benefits: Sugar Mountain pays 75% to 100% of team members’ insurance premiums. This includes comprehensive Medical, Dental, Prescription Drug, Vision care, and pre-tax healthcare and dependent care spending accounts. The company also provides life and long-term disability plans. Employees are encouraged to save for retirement through the company 401(k) plan with a 4% match.
  • Meals & Discounts: All Sugar Mountain employees receive a $12 meal allowance during every work shift. And we encourage team members to enjoy our amazing restaurants and products through a 35% employee discount at all Sugar Mountain locations.
  • Lunch Huddles & Celebrations: Each month, we bring in lunch and gather together for business updates, employee recognition, and to share success stories. Lunch huddles are part of the company-wide communication framework, which also includes our intranet newsletter and employee polling. Every month, we take time out to celebrate employee work anniversaries.
  • EAP: Our Employee Assistance Program helps our people manage life events every day. It provides confidential assessment of personal situations, short-term counseling, and coaching, with three free sessions. The EAP provides referrals to community resources and education on various topics, including financial advice and daycare assistance.
