  • Profit Sharing (PSP): Each Stellar employee receives an additional 25% of their pay rate for each hour worked contributed to their PSP retirement account for every hour worked.  The account vests at 100% immediately.       
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO): Each employee receives an additional 20% of their pay rate contributed to their FTO account for every hour worked (which is the equivalent of at least 9 weeks of FTO in a standard year).  The employee has the option to use this time any way they see fit.  Unused FTO is available upon request as a taxable cash distribution.  
  • Healthcare/Wellness: Stellar pays for 100% of employees' insurance premiums for medical, dental and vision, and they pay for 80% of premiums for their dependents.  If an employee opts out of our plans, they receive an additional ~$3,000 payout per year.
  • Annual Meeting: Every spring Stellar hosts an Annual Business Strategic Planning Meeting for its employees and their spouses/partners. The meetings have been held in: Maui, Disneyland, Vail, Steamboat, Napa Valley, London, Washington D.C. etc. The company puts on several events and pays for lodging and travel.
  • Health Reimbursement Account: Company provided account to cover medical expenses (up to $3,600 annually) not covered by insurance.
  • Empowerment: Each employee's input is valued as an important part of the company's strategic planning process to ensure alignment between their dream job and our customers' critical needs.  
  • Annual Incentive Plan: Every employee has an annual incentive bonus plan (target is 10% of base salary) tied to the employee driven strategic plan.  
  • Laptop and Cell Phone: Each employee receives a new laptop or iPad every three years and  a new cell phone every two years.  
  • Spot Bonuses: On the spot bonus payments for outstanding customer service (customer recognition), publishing papers, participating on panels or conferences, crossing-the-boundaries (cross-sector collaboration). shout-outs (peer-to-peer recognition) and hiring referrals.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We really look for self-starters that are engaged and believe in the Stellar vision of satisfying customer critical needs while realizing our dream jobs.  Because our employees are dispersed working at customer sites it's critical that they can take initiative, hold their own with the customer, represent Stellar, and make an effort to stay connected to their colleagues and the company.  We also rely heavily on employees to spot growth opportunities, potential new projects, and "stellar" candidates that we would want to hire as they are immersed in the customer environment every day, so we look for people that are willing and able to do that as well.
