Perks and Programs

We asked SSOE Group to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • SHOW ME THE MONEY: SSOE'S bonus programs provide great opportunities for our employees to earn some extra green! Employees are eligible for either a discretionary bonus or incentive bonus based upon their individual performance. Company performance is rewarded through our profit sharing (Vanguard) and team award (cash) programs. We also have our 401k match and a student scholarship program.
  • BRAVO: Our team members do amazing things every day to make our clients and SSOE successful. To recognize their achievements, we partner with Globoforce to provide a global recognition program called BRAVO! Employees or managers can recognize other employees on a social platform that allows other employees to congratulate them. The awards can either be redeemed for merchandise or gift cards, or may be paid in cash! Our Founder’s Award is awarded annually to an individual or team that has demonstrated exceptional performance by delivering great client service, diversifying SSOE’s business by growing in strategic markets or innovating processes and identifying quality improvements for our clients. Our Leadership Award, also awarded annually to either an individual or team, recognizes exemplary leadership that directly benefits SSOE’s business.
  • SSOE SWAG FOR NEW EMPLOYEES: New employees are provided a gift certificate that they can use to purchase merchandise from SSOE’s company store! Items available include backpacks, golf shirts, polos, dress shirts, tumblers, coffee mugs, golf balls, and more!
  • SSOE EXPERIENCE: The SSOE Experience is a one-day class that introduces new employees to our organization’s mission, strategic direction, culture, values, and practices. The class incorporates information on Great Client Service, business etiquette, diversity, communication, and our Employee Value Proposition, which includes career planning.
  • INNOVATION LAB: Over the next 10 years, major technological changes will be taking place in the A/E/C industry, which will enable rapid increases in productivity and speed. In order to take a leading position in the industry through these anticipated revolutionary changes, SSOE must continue to lead the way! Through the Innovation Lab, we encourage our employees to submit their innovative ideas, browse, vote, improve ideas, and win points for their participation while helping us achieve this goal. Ideas are then prioritized by the Innovation Lab’s community polling. Top innovative ideas will receive funding to assist with business plan development, and those that are client focused will be given a budget and dedicated resources—perhaps even equity if a spin-off company is appropriate.
  • WELLNESS WORKS: SSOE’s wellness committee strives to increase awareness of the factors and resources that contribute to an employee's health and wellness. This empowers individuals to take responsibility for their own health. One program offered is Wellness Works, a free program that provides health, fitness, work, well-being, nutrition, financial, team, and coaching challenges. This online program includes free health screenings, flu shots, well-being assessments, and unlimited health coaching, allowing employees the ability to set and track personal goals and join company-wide wellness challenges - all while earning points to qualify for funds for their medical savings account. Some additional wellness options offered are fruit of the week, gym or Weight Watchers subsidy, and discounts on Garmin devices.

In addition, they provide, at no cost to the employee, vision insurance, long-term care coverage, employee assistance program coverage, patient advocate program coverage, and life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage.

How to Get Hired

We asked SSOE Group for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We are looking for talent that not only has the technical experience that we need but also are a strong cultural fits to the organization. We want individuals who align with our Corporate Vision (World-Class People, Delivering World-Class Projects for World-Class Clients) and Core Values (Safety, Quality, Integrity, Agility, Collaboration, and Innovation). We look for candidates who demonstrate leadership potential and who can add diversity to our workforce.  Candidates who want to bring the highest level of customer service — internal and external — will thrive in our environment.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Have a well written resume with good details about skill set, project work (including value provided to your client and personal or team achievements), what you are looking for in a role, volunteer / community experience, and professional and non-professional accomplishments. Creative resume formatting and out-of-the-box thinking. Candidates who directly engage with SSOE through our social media sites particularly standout to our recruitment team.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are currently experiencing growth in our architectural and structural disciplines globally. We have multiple openings under both of these disciplines throughout our different offices. In addition to our recruitment efforts to secure the architectural and structural talent we need, we are also looking for strong project managers, project directors, and BIM / virtual design and construction (VDC) talent. The talent we are looking for will continue to drive our firm’s evolution from a traditional AEC company to a global project delivery firm.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

There are multiple ways that prospective candidates can connect with SSOE. In addition to the traditional means of sending us a resume through our careers page (www.ssoe.com/careers), they can also connect with and follow us via our social media platforms (Facebook, WeChat, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). We also have a dedicated team of corporate recruiters who they can talk to. We look to connect with students through our career fair visits and on-campus recruiting efforts. The SSOE Talent Connection user group on LinkedIn was specifically developed to allow talent to connect with and engage with SSOE directly and more easily.
