  • Squirrels Company Retreat: Something we consider to be a valuable part of our employee-centric attitude is quality group time. At least once every year we like to get all employees together in one central location for a company retreat. The goal in mind is to come together as a team, rejuvenate, set goals and create a clear course of action for the year to come. Previous company retreat locations include Lake Tahoe, Outer Banks and the British Virgin Islands.
  • Squirrels Holidays: We believe that employees should enjoy life outside of work just as much as they do life at work. Instead of taking holidays in the winter (MLK day and similar), we give those holidays off in the summer. One Friday of every summer month (June-September), employees are allowed to observe a "Squirrels Holiday," and enjoy summer with family and friends.
  • Flex Scheduling: Squirrels provides employees with the option of flex scheduling to manage the balance between work and personal life. As long as an employee is in the office from 10am-2pm, they can start and leave whenever they want if they've covered an eight-hour work day. Squirrels does not require employees to clock out for lunch.
  • 401k Program: Squirrels LLC has established a 401k Retirement Plan in which eligible employees can participate after six months of employment. With that, we also have a financial advisor to help employees reach their personal financial goals, whether it's buying a house saving for a wedding, buying a new car or paying off debt.
  • Equipment Distribution: Every employee is issued a Mac that's appropriate for their level of work. Additionally, every year that a new iPhone comes out, we offer employees subsidies to upgrade to the latest model.
  • Health Insurance: We cover 100% of premiums for health, dental and vision insurance. Employees are only left with a copay. For employees with spouses and dependents, we cover that premium as well. Squirrels also offers employees and his/her spouse or dependent a gym membership, as we see this as an added health benefit.

        What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

        When a candidate is enthusiastic and upbeat during an interview, we know they'll fit. They don't even need to be enthusiastic about the job; it could be about gardening or fixing old cars. If they have enough drive to talk about what they love doing to other people, it's likely they'll be able to put the same amount of enthusiasm toward their new job. Employees who can be proud of their work and are passionate about what they do are great for morale and productivity.

        What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

        We appreciate genuine candidates who can speak to their experiences and relate them to the job at hand. We like to get a feel for candidates before we interview them, and because we're a technology company, we like to research online before meeting. Easily accessible information is key.  Hiring managers appreciate aesthetically pleasing and grammatically correct resumes that speak directly to the job at hand.
