What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
We look at three key areas in potential account executives. First, we want to know if they are a good cultural fit for us. Culture is the most important element to our success. Second, we look at whether or not this person would be motivated by what we have to offer. Will they be motivated by our culture, team environment, leadership style, and intense passion for our job? Third, we look at the way they build on their strengths. Have they had prior success in sales? Are they able to create relationships over the phone? Are they creative independent producers? We look for people who are friendly and kind, hard workers who are committed to follow-through and are looking for a career (not just a job). We look for people who are eager to learn, are creative thinkers, who have an impeccable integrity and a compassion for helping others.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
What really stands out to us is when prospective employees come into an interview prepared. We look for people who have delved into who we are and what we stand for even before they are considered for the position. A little bit of research can go a long way! People who follow up when they say they are going to, who aren’t afraid to ask questions, and who exhibit their strengths from the start… those people get our attention. Prospective employees impress us the most when they act as if they want the job for themselves more than we want it for them.
