  • Social Media Link Concept Crew: The Concept Crew is SML’s Leadership Team designed to work on the business, not in the business. It gives members of the SML team direct access to working with the Executive Team, as well as a chance to showcase skills outside of day-to-day tasks. This cross-functional team rotates every six months, creating a collaborative environment and bringing people together to drive innovation, strengthen our culture, spark creativity and bring to life our five Core Values.
  • Balance in the Workplace and Flexible Schedules: As part of creating a diverse culture, SML enjoys allowing employees to pursue interests outside of work, even if during work hours. We have a team member who is an NCAA Women’s Basketball Official, one who is a writer and director of short films, and many parents who crave time with their children. Encouraging team members to pursue their passions by offering flexible work schedules helps create a positive environment, which drives team members to work harder.
  • Extra Paid Holidays: SML believes rewarding employees is one of the most important aspects of building a hard-working culture. As a reward, SML offers employees their birthdays off, six half-days during summer Fridays, and an entire week for winter break at the end of December, on top of regular paid holidays throughout the year.
  • Team Bonding Events: Social Media Link hosts a number of out-of-work team bonding events to increase collaboration and culture inside the office. This year, the team has done events such as a cooking class, St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco De May celebrations, Go Karting and a summer scavenger hunt around NYC.
  • Direct Access to Executive Team: In order to facilitate and encourage idea generation, the executive team gives all levels of employees the chance to present a program or idea to our team of seven executives. The Executive Team provides feedback and helps each employee generate a plan to bring their idea to fruition.
  • Intern Program: During the summer months, each department is given the opportunity to hire one to two interns. The interns work closely with the departments to complete meaningful projects, creating an impact on company goals. We often hire interns when new job openings become available - 14% of the hires we made in the last 12 months have been recent college graduates.
  • Continued Education and Development: As a technology company within a fast-growing and competitive industry, we strive to promote and hire within. Our continuing education program gives each employee the chance to further enhance knowledge and hone expertise in their specific field through activities such as seminars, conferences, coursework, etc.
  • Bring Your Child to Work Day: SML believes taking interest in our employee's lives outside of work is important for allowing employees to truly get to know one another. For many of our employees, that means taking interest in their children. We invite all our employees to bring in their children, nieces, nephews or any other kids in their lives for Bring Your Child to Work Day. The entire team is involved in planning, setting up and engaging with the children. This year's theme was Carnival - we had 14 children attend.
