Perks and Programs

We asked Snowflake Computing to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Our values: We have a lot of great perks, but what really defines us and make us excited to come to work every day is our values. They define who we are, what we believe in and the respect we have for each other. It’s the foundation for our outstanding culture and work environment.
  • Our annual ski trip: Our founders built our vision when living in Lake Tahoe, CA. Based on that heritage and our name Snowflake, the entire organization is invited to a 3-day ski trip in North Star every February. Our employees are pampered with Spa days, skiing and fun filled evenings. It’s the ultimate team building and bonding event that create memories we all share for a lifetime.
  • Snow Stars – Our women’s support group: We have formed a support and networking group for the women at Snowflake called Snow Starts. We have ongoing and scheduled events such as formal training and social after work events. We want to support, retain and help all women with their professional development and success at Snowflake.
  • Weekly optional social events: We truly believe that teams who play together, stay together. We organize social events every week. Waffle Wednesday features a full breakfast buffet cooked by Snowflake employees. On Thursday we end the day with a wine tasting and cheese event. We also have running and workout teams. We work hard to keep our “family like” work environment as we grow to hundreds of employees.
  • Celebrating diversity: Our strength and success is based on our wide diversity and backgrounds. We celebrate that and every year we organize a company-wide international potluck event where we bring together dishes from all over the world.
  • Free breakfast lunch, dinner and gym membership: We provide provide breakfast lunch, dinner and healthy snack options all day long. It’s highly encouraged that we eat together, which is another opportunity to communicate and get to know each other better. We also have onsite massage chairs, walking work stations, ergonomic chairs and gym memberships
  • Open communication and no hierarchy: We take pride in open communication. We have weekly all hands meeting and board presentations and discussions are presented to all employees after every board meeting. Our executive sits together with their teams in an open landscape. We believe everyone in our organization is equally important and impact is not related to a title.
