  • Cafe': There’s something for everyone at SECURA’s subsidized on-site Café. The dedicated staff knows associates by name and makes it their mission to provide a salad bar, home-made soups, made-to-order sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a variety of entrée options according to a gold, silver, and bronze nutritional rating system. They’re also more than happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. In case the line at the drive-thru was too long, associates can nab a convenient caffeine fix at the Starbucks coffee machine and, when evening family activities cramp them for time, they can request meals made to go! We believe that what you eat has an impact on how you feel, and helping associates feel good is something we care about.
  • Fitness Center: Providing exceptional service to our customers takes loads of energy, so we promote active lifestyles to help associates maintain the momentum needed to outperform competitors while boosting interdepartmental camaraderie. Our fitness center offers these perks to associates and their family members: Open from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with flexibility to work out when it’s convenient; spin and stationary bikes, treadmills, step machines, ellipticals, free weights, and a circuit system; instructor-led, subsidized fitness classes throughout the day; personal trainer services—free of charge; and locker rooms with steam rooms and showers. Associates receive other wellness benefits including standup desks, a fast-acting Ergonomics Team, paid race entry fees, a running club, walking trails, and an onsite Weight Watchers program.
  • Health & Wellness Center: Sick happens. When it does, associates are encouraged to step away to care for themselves and their family members. You can’t put a price on peace of mind, but SECURA’s unlimited sick days help ease associates’ stress, allowing them to rest up thoroughly themselves, take loved ones to appointments, or care for an ill family member. We take healing a unique step further by providing an on-site Health & Wellness Center equipped with a registered nurse, physician assistant, and physical therapist. This convenient care is FREE to all associates, as well as immediate family members in our health plan. “The doctor is in” every day and saves associates time and money while helping them reach their wellness goals.
  • SECURA Cares Program: Social responsibility is baked into our DNA. From the top on down, associates genuinely care about their communities, the environment, their customers, and each other. That culture of generosity is especially evident in “SECURA Cares”, a unique program where associates crowdsource internally to provide emergency financial assistance for fellow associates and their immediate families. Fundraisers such as Green Bay Packers and concert ticket raffles, Greeting Cards On-the-Go, and Sweets & Sweats Days are a huge success, because associates know their donations are benefiting each other. The SECURA family believes that showing support to associates in need is the right thing to do. Getting people back on their feet – making them whole again – is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Summer Hours: Our CEO stresses the importance of work/life balance. Finding that balance can be challenging, so we have programs in place to ensure associates find time to tackle their personal checklists and indulge in things they love. Some work flexible hours so they can fit a workout in, others work reduced hours so they can bug out to pick kids up from school, still others take advantage of options to work from home. Of course, when summer hits, everyone cheers! Summers are short, and we want our associates to make the most of every snow-less minute. Summer hours mean we close our doors every Friday at 1:30, so associates can get a head start on the weekend!
  • Foundational Leadership Program: Our success depends on our ability to discover and develop future leaders. Our Foundational Leadership Program helps ensure we have the talent to win in any environment. This 18-month program offers high-performing associates a chance to better understand the challenges and expectations associated with being a leader at SECURA, and provides them with opportunities to demonstrate leadership behaviors. Every two years, we invite all associates to apply for Foundational Leadership. Those selected gather at monthly leadership competency sessions led by SECURA directors and VPs. They also are challenged with business-essential group projects and present their work to SECURA’s Executive Team. Graduates from this program often move into leadership roles and continue to collaborate and connect both personally and professionally years after the program.
  • Career Counseling: With a landscape of career adventures, everyone has opportunities to go exploring. Associates are made aware early on that lateral moves are as valuable as climbing a ladder here. Those seeking adventure can map out future success routes with our in-house Career Pathing Expert. Career aspirations are supported with an abundance of convenient, on-site learning options, including soft skills and Microsoft classes, Lean Six Sigma certification, professional mentoring, and in-depth new supervisor coaching… all at no cost to associates. We also cover insurance education materials, exam fees, and congratulatory honorariums. Currently, 85 percent of our executives and 75 percent of all leaders at SECURA have been promoted from within. Associates appreciate this support and know they play an active role in earning their success.
  • PDQs & Profit Share: Associates who put forth extra effort are often surprised with a PDQ (Pretty Darn Quick) Award. PDQs can be as practical as a Café certificate or bank debit card, or as personal as a restaurant gift card, Brewers tickets, or gas card for an upcoming vacation. The best part is, it’s not limited to management… associates can award each other! When the company performs well as a whole, associates share in the revenue! Profit share is never guaranteed (says Mother Nature) but, more often than not, associates find themselves shaking our CEO’s hand as they’re handed their annual profit share check. Depending on the year’s success, the payout can be as much as 10 percent of each associate’s base pay across the board.
  • On-site Amenities: On-site extras make it easy for associates to run errands without ever leaving the building, allowing time to fit a workout in or relax during lunch. Dry cleaning – bring those stained shirts to the office and leave with ‘em clean. Mail service – skip the post office lines. Vehicle maintenance – oil changes without waiting at the shop. Bike tune-ups – springtime means free bike. TLC Garden to Doorstep – fresh organic fruits and veggies delivered weekly. Massages – fast stress relief when you’re in need of some kneading. Take-home meals – better “fast food” options for active families. Greeting Cards On-the-Go – never forget that anniversary card again. Food truck Fridays – summer fun food delivered right to the door.
  • First-time Homebuyer Program: Excitement and anticipation can go hand in hand with trepidation and confusion for those buying their first home. We alleviate the highs and lows in this complicated process by offering comprehensive homebuyer counseling and $5,000 grants annually. Those who’ve completed the homebuyer counseling, have been with SECURA for one year, work more than 20 hours per week, and are buying their first home, may qualify for a $5,000 grant. We assist as many associates as we can. Whether it means five grants in one year or 10 grants the next year, the associates who benefit from this program can look back on a positive, “moving” experience!

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

In 2016, we are focused on hiring a strong group of interns (in multiple areas), temporary, full-time employees, and full-time employees interested in starting their insurance careers with a great company. In addition, we added approximately 25 positions to our IT Team.  We will be focusing on experienced individuals for IT positions.
