Perks and Programs

We asked Scorpion to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Quarterly Blood Drives: At Scorpion, we believe in giving back however we can. To help accomplish this, our employees organized a quarterly blood drive and bone marrow donor match which has helped thousands of people in our community to date. Our employees look forward to this every quarter because they we all have real life stories of people who have benefited from someone who has donated blood or bone marrow - and we love that feeling.
  • Employee of the Month: Every month a select number of Scorpions are rewarded for their hard work, great accomplishments and accolades with the Employee of the Month award. These employees are each given a bonus, and recognized company wide. With an ever growing company, It is always a fun surprise each month to see who won on our internal TVs - especially when they run around the office giving every employee a high-five! Not only do the EOMs get a bonus but one EOM gets to donate money to their favorite charity to further give back.
  • 5Ks, 1/2 & Full marathons for charity: Many of our employees participate in charity 5Ks, such as the Michael Hoefflin foundation each year. Some of our employees are even more extreme and get sponsored to run 1/2 and full marathons for various charities.
  • Scorpion Mojo: Employees who work at Scorpion are proud to be Scorpions. Our employees frequently ask for swag to wear, so because of the upcoming storm, Scorpion gave a free North Face jacket to each employee to go along with their polos, hats, and other swag. Additionally, Scorpion also does some motorized cooler races in the parking lot amongst the various teams in a bracket system to help create team spirit.
  • Goal Crushing Outings: By working at Scorpion, we enjoy going after ridiculous goals... goals that other companies might say are impossible. And WHEN we accomplish them, we love celebrating our accomplishments. These range from getting box seats at Lakers and Kings games. Trips also include a paid-day off to Disneyland, Universal Studios, a local horse race track (with some bets placed on behalf of each Scorpion employee), Dave & Busters, etc.
  • Employee of the Month donations: Each month, one of the Scorpion employees of the month is randomly selected to donate $1,000 to a charity of their choice. Scorpion likes to do this because it allows us to further give to organizations to help people for things that are close to that particular employee.
  • End of Quarter food trucks: To keep the end of quarters fun after crushing our goals, Scorpion will sometimes get a food truck to come to the office. Scorpion fully sponsors the truck, so the Scorpion employees can order their meal for free by simply flashing their wristband that is passed out that morning.
  • Spirit Week: For the last week of every calendar quarter, Scorpion creates themes (such as Favorite Sports Team, Hawaii, TV Land, Cowboy, etc.) for each day that employees may dress up for spirit and mojo purposes. Some of Scorpion's employees enjoy this so much that they often dress up as a team. Pictures are taken every day for the employees that participated in that spirit day, and those pictures are send around the office as some of costumes and team themes are very creative.
  • Lunch Provided Everyday: Each Scorpion employee is given a weekly per diem at our local cafe to be able to order breakfast, lunch or snacks throughout the day. This gives all of our employees an opportunities to meet other Scorpions from other parts of the company that they might not otherwise see on a daily basis. This cross-department interaction has resulted in Scorpion developing some products and services which has continued to help us push the needle for our clients.

How to Get Hired

We asked Scorpion for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We have found the most successful employees to be individuals who join with an honest desire to learn and grow in the field of digital marketing. Actual marketing experience isn’t always a necessity here, but we do appreciate self-starters, who can hit the ground running and research items they may not immediately understand. Scorpion is a competitive company, so those who have a natural desire to inch above their coworkers in performance metrics, deadlines, upsells and quality of work will feel right at home. As with most competitive teams, there is also a sense of camaraderie and family. Scorpion is a home away from home. We are looking for organized and detail oriented members to add to our family.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

When we are recruiting we review a number of basic factors in applications: •Do you have a well-constructed resume with zero grammatical errors? •Does your listed work experience match the job you are applying for? •Can we sense a passion for Scorpion in your cover letter? •Do you present yourself as fun-loving, easy-going, hard-working and motivated?

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Needs are ever changing at Scorpion. That’s what makes our company so exciting, but sometimes tough for potential new employees. One week we may focus heavily on hiring for our marketing teams and then the next week we may need a bunch of new project managers in delivery. Best advice would be to apply and keep following up, as it’s tough to have an inside look on company operations.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Interested candidates should definitely do some research on us, check out our culture, look at our reviews, and decide if this is a company they can call home. If so, make sure to present your application with a palpable passion and excitement. We want to employ people that are ecstatic about joining the scorpion team and expanding the ever-growing family. Good luck!
