Perks and Programs

We asked Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Employee Cruise Privilege: One of our most popular benefits, Royal Caribbean’s Employee Cruise Request (ECR) offers employees, their family, and friends the opportunity to see the world. They can enjoy economical cruise vacations around the globe that may be booked months, weeks and even day-of-sailing. Our online ECR tool and convenient mobile app help employees keep tabs on their requests as they move up in line.
  • Volunteer Time Off: Launched in 2015, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) is a way for employees to give back and support diverse activities about which they are truly passionate. Every year, each office employee is encouraged to take an eight-hour work day and dedicate it to a non-profit organization of their choice in the community. From the homeless, to the elderly, to the environment, our employees use their VTO to help make a difference.
  • Paternity Paid Leave: Family is important to work-life balance, and the weeks after a baby is born are critical to any growing family. To help establish a strong connection between a father and child, RCL allows employees whose spouse has a child or whose name appears on a child’s birth certificate to take ten business days of paid leave to help welcome their child to the world and bond with them.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: It’s win-win! When Royal Caribbean employees decide they want to expand their horizons through further education, the company is ready to help. RCL offers $6,000 a year for students pursing undergraduate degrees, and $10,000 a year for degree-seeking employees who are pursuing Master’s and Doctorate degrees. Employees have a great opportunity to further their education, while RCL gains a more well-equipped, flexible and stronger workforce.
  • Neighborhood Fuel: Our new Neighborhood Fuel offering allows employees in our South Florida locations to gas up -- while they work. Employees can fill up with regular or premium gasoline for the same price they would pay at the pump. Three times a week a truck comes to RCL, and using a convenient mobile app, employees text whether they need fuel or not. They then leave the gas door open and the truck driver pumps the gas and emails the employee a receipt. Implemented this year, it is an awesome complement to the existing onsite car wash.
  • Free Onsite Gym: Whether spinning in morning, taking a Zumba class at lunchtime, or pumping iron in the evening, RCL office employees are taking advantage of the free onsite fitness center at each of our U.S. locations. In addition to membership, we offer many convenient services including personal trainers, massage therapy, and salon services at a modest price.
  • No Waiting Period: When you are a new RCL employee , there is no waiting period for our extensive benefits offerings to kick-in. This has allowed us to attract more qualified candidates interested in working with us.
