Perks and Programs

We asked Roche Diagnostics to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Live Well: Life is more than work. Life needs balance to thrive. At Roche, we believe in enhancing your physical, emotional, and financial health. Through Live Well, we strive to offer services and resources that provide the convenience and ease to help you maximize your experiences at work—and in life.
  • Women's Leadership Initiative: Through the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), we’ve learned the power of gender diversity to meet the business needs of the future. The WLI is dedicated to attracting, advancing, and retaining the most talented women. It is also committed to: --Inspiring and enabling the women of Roche to pursue their own definition of success. --Supporting the Roche global initiative to grow the number of female leaders in key positions by building a strong bench of future female leaders. --Promoting Roche in the community as a leader in the advancement of women to attract even more talented women.
  • Formal Mentoring Program: Roche Diagnostics' mentoring program, sponsored by our Women's Leadership Initiative, is a broad-based, year-long program that matches an employee with an experienced professional based on interests and goals. The WLI mentoring program has proven so successful that we are currently planning for expansion in 2017, targeting other minority employee resource groups as we broaden our overall inclusion efforts.
  • Annual Bonus and Performance Sharing: Regardless of their position in the company, every single Roche employee is financially rewarded for their contributions to the organization. Our Performance Sharing Plan allows employees ranging from entry level to professional level to benefit financially from the success of our company. The objective of this plan is to reward each employee for their contribution when the company achieves profitability objectives that position the business for sustained long-term growth. The Roche Annual Bonus plan, offered to leaders and certain professional-level individual contributors, measures both individual and business contributions. Employee targets range from 20% to 50% of their base salary.
  • Business Resource Groups: As we continue on our path of cultivating a more inclusive culture and leveraging diversity and inclusion (D&I) as a competitive advantage to drive business results, Roche Diagnostics launched six new Business Resource Groups (BRG) in 2016. BRG groups will provide business value through advancing our D&I goals, with a focus on recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent, community outreach, and serving as business resources to drive initiatives. Current planned BRGs include Young Professionals/Millennial, LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Allies), Veteran, African American, Latino/Hispanic, and Asian.
  • Camp Roche: Through a partnership with the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, children of Roche Diagnostics employees (affectionately known as “Rochelings”) ages 5 through 12 are invited to attend Camp Roche during the summer. It may just be our most unique—and most beloved—offering. Each day, campers meet at our Employee Forum for a free hot breakfast before heading out to our 45-acre on-campus park to participate in a variety of camp activities, including: archery, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, soccer, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, nature exploration, and sports.

How to Get Hired

We asked Roche Diagnostics for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

At Roche, we look for people with heart: passionate, courageous, open, inspiring, and genuinely committed to the health and wellbeing of the patients we serve. We look for those who work well with others, who always give their all, and who can comfortably adapt in a rapidly changing world. We value the risk-takers, the challengers of the status quo, those who are always looking for better paths to success. We look for people who communicate well and genuinely respect others. And we look for those who share our cultural beliefs of innovation, achieving results, and winning together—for our customers, the community, and the world. If you’re clear about your purpose—the ‘why’ behind what you do—you’ll fit right in at Roche.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

In recruiting for Roche, we’re always looking to find that missing piece—the candidate who fills a specific need better than anyone else. At the same time, we’re seeking those whose development is wide open: We need people who can meet the needs of today, but also stretch to meet those of tomorrow. To catch our eye, you should cultivate a detailed and broadly thought-out candidate profile, one that demonstrates your professional development, your contributions and impact, and strong social brand. We’re impressed by candidates who know Roche well and understand our mission. And we’re drawn to those who tell their stories well and support them with actions and results. If your strengths and talents are clearly defined and uniquely displayed, we’ll notice.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Varies by business area and business need.
