Perks and Programs

We asked Riverside Health System to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Team Member Advisory Group: Front-line team members help shape system strategy by sharing feedback with executive leadership through the Team Member Advisory Group monthly collaborative meeting. The goal is to improve communication, enhance trust and help Riverside continue to grow as a great place to work.
  • Emerging Leaders Academy: This annual program combines a year of coursework with group activities for 25 high-potential team members who want to advance into leadership roles. Projects include systemwide initiatives and performance improvement activities. Candidates must apply to join the academy. Those accepted into the program are paired with a mentor. To date 69 team members have graduated and 27 have been promoted within Riverside.
  • My Healthy Lifestyle: Riverside is committed to the health, well-being and personal growth of our team members and their families. My Healthy Lifestyle is our program to offer resources and support to help our team take charge of their health. We encourage annual wellness visits and offer a number of specialized programs to focus on diabetes and other chronic conditions. We partner with Health Advocate to offer coaching and more. Riverside hosts a number of competitions throughout the year to encourage healthy choices. Many prizes are awarded. Team members can save on medical insurance by participating in the My Healthy Lifestyle program. They also enjoy discounted membership rates at our wellness centers.
  • Shared Solutions Award: This innovative program offers cash prizes to Riverside teams that work together to achieve dramatic improvements in customer service, work efficiency, and quality of care of our patients. This was implemented based on feedback from our Team Member Advisory Group.
  • Employee discount: Team members get a 25 percent discount for using most Riverside health care services. Registered family members also qualify! This helped team members and their families save more than $400,000 in 2015.
  • Special medication rates: We offer team members special medication rates through our Pharmacies - a unique benefit we can offer as a health care provider. As part of this program we also work with pharmaceutical vendors to offer reduced rates for costly specialty drugs. Access to these medications is life-saving, and the significantly reduced cost is a financial life saver.
  • DollarSmart: This discount program is open to all team members. It features discounts and special offers from 290 local participating businesses, ranging from automotive to entertainment to pest control companies.
  • Staff employment options: We have created more options to help team members select the right employment opportunity for their work-life balance. These options include premium-pay PRN positions to supplement department staffing, job sharing, flexible scheduling, retirement transitioning, pay partial benefits, and part-time employment. More than 46 percent of our open positions were filled by internal candidates.
  • WinShare: WinShare is a special bonus program that helps eligible team members share in the health system's success. Results are based on patient-experience goals and system finances. Riverside added a midyear progress payment based on feedback from the team.
  • Educational assistance: Riverside has paid out more than $1 million in educational assistance over the past two years. We also offer a number of educational partnerships to help team members save money as they further themselves professionally through higher education.
