Perks and Programs

We asked Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Day One Stock Options: All Full-Time Regeneron employees are invested in company success when they are granted stock options on their first day of employment.
  • Science Poster Day: Designed as a way to share and “talk science,” Science Poster Day draws hundreds of employees together to hear our scientists share their unique perspectives and knowledge. As we like to say: “Science drives our business and passion drives our science.”
  • Cheesy Hawaiian Shirt Day: What started as an idea to beat the winter blues has turned into a much-loved tradition during which hundreds of employees show up to work in their best cheesy Hawaiian shirt. Aloha!
  • A Week Off at Christmas: Every year, Regeneron closes most of its sites the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve so employees can celebrate with their families and friends without using vacation days.
  • Free Gourmet Coffee & Smoothies: Cold brew? Vanilla latte? Strawberry smoothie? Our employees can enjoy complementary coffee and smoothies from the centrally located coffee bar on the main campus. We also have weekly visits from the ice cream truck in the summer, and the hot cider and donuts truck in winter.
  • Regeneron Science Talent Search: We’re thrilled to be the new sponsor of the nation’s most prestigious science research competition for high school seniors and to continue our work developing the next generation of scientists. For us, it’s personal. Our CEO and our Chief Scientific Officer competed in STS in the 1970s.
  • Six Flags on Us: Employees at our product supply facility in Rensselaer, New York, hold their company picnic at Six Flags Amusement Park, with free tickets for them and their families.
  • Day for Doing Good: It's in our DNA at Regeneron to "do well by doing good," and we demonstrated this spirit in 2017 with our first global day of service, the "Day of Doing Good." Of course, we try to do good every day with our efforts in our offices and labs - for instance, our unique rapid-response drug discovery capabilities enable us to join in the fight against pressing global health issues such as Zika and Ebola.
  • Lab Warmings: Since the number of employees at Regeneron continues to grow, we’ve dedicated specific times throughout the year to open our research labs to the entire company for a Regeneron-style open house, offering tours, demonstrations, food, conversations with colleagues, and an overview of our groundbreaking science.
  • The Regeneron 5: Many companies have a set of corporate values. We have the Regeneron 5, words to live by at Regeneron that help define who we are, what we do, and how we do it.

How to Get Hired

We asked Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

A passion for science and patients, the ability to learn on the fly and deal with ambiguity.  A natural curiosity for figuring things out with a team, and doing whatever it takes, no matter what role or title he/she holds.  Expertise in his/her field, and still the desire and capability to learn new ways and new things.  Thriving on innovation and the spirit of it.  Self motivated, courageous, and at the same time humble.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Be well read and up-to-date on Regeneron before the first phone interview – the history of how we were founded and recent news of what we are doing. (Our website is a great resource!)  Know enough to ask interesting questions, and then be a good listener.  Each interview builds on the next, so it is a learning process for both Regeneron and our candidates.  Be ready to have candid conversations about what challenges you have faced in the past and how you have successfully overcome those with creativity and perseverance.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Given our continued high growth mode, we are focused on Medical Doctors and Ph.Ds to support our scientific discovery and clinical development, as well as recent college graduates for our career entry positions at our production site in Rensselaer and Limerick.  In particular, we are looking for people with interest and expertise in immune-oncology, genetics, and biotech production.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Get to know us through our website, social media channels, scientific publications and media coverage.  We hope you'll learn about our scientific focus, the R&D breakthroughs we've made, the technologies that set us apart from others, and the ways we are helping patients.  And stay in touch on Linkedin and Facebook!  Our employees are always willing to share their experiences and answer questions.
