Perks and Programs

We asked Qualbe Marketing Group to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Idea Monkey: Our Idea Monkey program facilitates an environment of innovation and involves the entire company in building up our business. Each week, employees are encouraged to submit any ideas they have for improving what we do. These may be a marketing idea for our websites, a new piece of technology we could build, a way to make the office more fun, or a sales tactic they read in a book. All ideas are presented to a panel that votes on the best idea each week. The winner receives bragging rights and the honor of housing our stuffed monkey (sound effects included) on their desk. All other ideas are shared with the company to inspire more brainstorming.
  • Rock Star Cards: To recognize employees that live out our Core Values, an employee can honor a fellow employee by filling out a Rock Star Card. Each card matches an employee story on the job to one of our Core Values. All "Rock Stars" are announced weekly to the company, and each recipient gets a printed version of their accomplishment to keep.
  • Book War and other Development: Qualbe believes in developing our employees both personally and professionally. Some examples of this are our company-wide "Book War" and monthly "Lunch and Learn" seminars. The Book War is a company-wide competition that awards employees for reaching varying levels of reading. This year, we averaged 10 books read per employee and the winner read over 50 books! We also hold monthly Lunch and Learn seminars where a different employee or an outside guest provides a short lecture on various topics over lunch time (split into two times so everyone can attend). Qualbe also provides an extensive library and an Audible account for employees to access at will. These things help contribute to our second Core Value: “Be Teachable.”
  • Qual of Fame: For awards that are above and beyond, we have a wall in Qualbe that honors them. Awards range from sales awards like achieving $1 million in sales to more fun awards like pie-eating contest winner and Awkward Family Photo contest. Our "Qual" is a central place to help visitors and job applicants get a quick understanding of what's important to our culture and business.
  • Stay Interviews: Most companies conduct Exit Interviews when employees leave to see what they thought of the company while they were employed. Qualbe believes this information and feedback is extremely valuable for maintaining and improving our culture, so we conduct yearly "Stay Interviews." During these one-on-one interviews, we check in with employees to see how they think management is doing, gather feedback on any areas where we can improve, and see what they think we are doing particularly well. Coupled with anonymous surveys, this information helps management keep a pulse on employees' opinions and adjust areas accordingly.
  • We Have Fun: Qualbe makes sure to take our core value of "Have Fun" seriously, and does so with planned monthly events, our recreation room that includes a ping pong table, pickle ball, corn hole and indoor basketball, and with our annual Christmas Party. During the Christmas Party, we gather employees and their dates to eat dinner, hear about the past year from our CEO, and have incredible entertainment put on by our own employees and management team. Last year our employees competed in a Lip Sync Battle, and our management team stole the show with their choreographed lip sync of "Stop In The Name of Love."
  • Company Communication: We want to maintain clear, open and honest relationships and communication between all our employees. One way we do this is by having weekly one-on-one meetings for each employee and their manager to discuss current projects, progress, pain points and questions. We also hold quarterly Town Hall meetings for the whole company where we cater breakfast, close our call center to allow all employees to attend, and have our leadership present current initiatives to the company. We believe these programs make sure communication is always open and that all employees feel involved with the company's projects and goals.
  • Vendor Appreciation Day: Qualbe is very grateful for its long-term partnership with Careington International. Once a year, we take a small team to their office to serve them lunch and to interact with their employees face-to-face. We believe that taking this time to thank them for all they do allows us to stay in line with our core value of “Building Positive, Proactive and Loyal Teams,” both within and outside out company.
  • Family Friendly Company: It’s not rare to hear kids in our office when families drop by to share lunch with a parent during a break, or come by after work to see people. Our CEO is known for always having a corny joke ready for the kids or a new magic trick he learned. We also plan company events around families so they can be involved in what their parent is doing here and connect with other employee families.
  • Community Events: Qualbe values participation in community events. We are always open to getting involved in events and causes that are important to our employees. This year, we have participated in our local zoo's 5K race, which encouraged employees to be active and to financially support the zoo; we have donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in honor of our COO who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last year, and we have been a sponsor for several years in a local Golf Tournament supporting veterans.

How to Get Hired

We asked Qualbe Marketing Group for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

When looking at prospective employees, we look to see if they are excited by and agree with our Core Values. We strive to hire for character and fit, and train for skill. We use a multi- assessment profile to give us more information about prospective employees' personality and tendencies during the hiring process. We look for people that are teachable and are life-long learners. We also want to make sure a candidate is humble, which plays out in the way they interact in teams, how teachable they are, and really is the base of all of our Core Values.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

To get our attention, prospective employees can show a passion for their job and an excitement for our Core Values. We want to make sure people are a good fit for their position because we believe this is how they will develop best, both personally and professionally.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are always looking for sellers for our Call Center. This coming year, we are also focused on hiring for various positions to expand our Digital Marketing unit as well as Application Developers to support all four of our business units.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
