  • Promoting a Learning Culture: PolyOne Academy is a global learning platform available to all associates. From webinars to classroom training to self-study programs, PolyOne Academy provides learning opportunities in various regions and languages that are dedicated to an associate's professional and personal development. Other opportunities include 360 feedback assessments, professional coaches, Lean Six Sigma certifications, language learning and various soft skills that are aligned with PolyOne’s core competencies. PolyOne recently purchased content from LinkedIn Learning, which offers on-demand, mobile-enabled content, and will extend the reach of our learning opportunities to our associates at locations across the globe. PolyOne also leverages external professional and leadership development programs offered by universities and organizations such as the YWCA.
  • Building Leadership Capability: PolyOne offers three annual leadership development programs to emphasize leadership capability building: NextGen, PolyMasters and Emerging Leaders. Global associates identified as top talent are invited annually to participate in NextGen, which strives to “Build Tomorrow's Leaders Today" through an intensive two-week session focused on inspirational leadership and building trust. Participants lead a change project, and are paired with an executive mentor to continue learning post-program. The PolyMasters program empowers 32 high-performing associates to develop innovative ideas on improving and growing the organization, providing individual mentorship from a senior leader. Selected participants will present their change ideas to the PolyOne Board of Directors. Each year, several of these change projects are selected for implementation. Emerging Leaders was launched in 2017 as a development program for top manager talent. 16 associates are selected to participate in the regional programs, facilitated by NextGen program graduates, where they develop change projects in groups.
  • Recognizing Top Talent: In addition to PolyOne's recognition and rewards programs, associates who exhibit superior performance can be recipients of one of PolyOne’s prestigious global recognition programs. The “Chairman’s Club” recognizes the top 25 global sellers and the “Chairman’s Achievement Awards” highlights 6-8 associates annually who have made a large impact to the business through their work in one of PolyOne's Four Strategic Pillars of Globalization, Specialization, Operational Excellence, and Commercial Excellence.
  • Appreciating Individual Contribution: PolyOne has several programs to recognize associates. Our most popular and accessible to all associates are the "You Made a Difference" (YMD) Awards and "Spotlight" Awards. YMD awards are for associates who have gone above and beyond the scope of their role to help out or make a positive impact for someone else. Nominations can be made at any level of the organization and those recognized receive a $150 cash award. Each year, approximately 400 YMD awards are given. Spotlight Awards are for associates who have made a significant impact to the business. Nominations can be made at any level of the organization and those recognized receive a $500-$1000 cash award and a certificate toward PolyOne merchandise. Each year, approximately 50 Spotlight awards are given.
  • Developing Future Leaders: PolyOne has implemented two-year leadership and development programs for top college graduates within its functional areas and business units. Some of these programs include rotational assignments within a function; international assignments across businesses; formal training and development opportunities; and team-building/networking activities. Other programs are targeted at structured development in focused areas. After program completion, associates are placed into roles that will continue to grow their career at PolyOne. Globally, PolyOne hires over 50 associates into these programs each year.
  • Caring for Communities: Associates are committed to the communities in which they live and work. Several associates serve on the board of directors for organizations they are passionate about. From blood drives to food drives and from elementary classrooms to high school mentorship programs, associates all over the world contribute to their communities. Most notably, associates lead an annual United Way campaign across North America. Due to the overwhelming generosity of its associates, PolyOne raised over $1.5 million dollars in 2017 to support their local communities. This level of generosity has made PolyOne the largest contributor to the United Way of Lorain County, Ohio —donating over $1 million dollars each year. Additionally, in 2018, PolyOne announced a new benefit that allows associates to take up to 16 hours per year of paid time to participate in activities that support their local community. PolyOne also has a Community Service Committee to coordinate company-wide service opportunities.
  • Creating a Flexible Workplace: As we continue on our journey of becoming a Great Place to Work, PolyOne is pleased to offer a special and unique benefit of Flex Fridays from June through August, 2018. Flex Fridays allow associates to have up to six Fridays out of work without using vacation time. Associates will work with their supervisor to create a flexible schedule that will allow them to complete their work hours.
  • Supporting Wellness: PolyOne offers a wellbeing program through Virgin Pulse to give employees the tools to get active and get healthy. This program helps individuals reach their physical, emotional, mental and financial wellness goals through an interactive online platform with resources to provide resources and motivation. Employees can join company-wide challenges and participate with friends to track healthy activities like moving more and eating more veggies. There is no cost to employees to participate, and by completing certain wellness challenges and activities, they can earn “pulse cash” to purchase gift cards and other prizes. PolyOne is also committed to wellness in the community. We are the main sponsor of a new recreation facility in Avon Lake, The Anchor, and our associates participate in the Corporate Challenge, where they compete in recreational events with other organizations in Lorain County.
  • Committing to Sustainability: The PolyOne Recycling Committee is group of volunteers who are passionate about environmental issues, working to improve employee awareness of how we can positively impact the environment. The Committee has existed at PolyOne for over 20 years, and they coordinate events for Earth Day and America Recycles Day. They also work with Avon Lake City Council to participate in the Lorain County Pride Day cleanup day as part of the Great American Cleanup Initiative. All events are funded by dollars collected from selling IT scrap to a partner for responsible recycling. The Recycling Committee serves as ambassadors for sustainable behaviors at our Corporate Headquarters, leading initiatives such as the replacing of Styrofoam coffee cups with reusable travel mugs, removing over 40,000 single-use cups annually.

We look for associates who are aligned to our core values, ensuring that candidates are collaborative, innovative, customer-centric and focused on achieving excellence in all they do.  With our strong focus on our customers and finding innovative ways to help them meet their goals, it is important to find individuals who share that same passion for being ahead of the trends. We are always looking for candidates who want to build a career and make an impact.
