      What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

      We look for people who have a positive attitude, are enthusiastic, helpful, and willing to provide great service. A happy person with a sense of humor is a plus, because we encourage our associates to have fun at work. Candidates must be personable and enjoy engaging with others, make direct eye contact and SMILE!

      What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

      During the online application process, candidates have the opportunity to tell us more about themselves through our "All About You" section. In addition to describing what they hope to accomplish by working for Nugget Market, Inc. and how they would like to contribute to our company, they are able to let us know about outside-of-work interests and causes about which they are passionate. This helps us get to know them better, and we look for clear communication skills, including spelling and grammar.

      Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

      We always hire people for entry-level positions, but currently our focus is on the Kitchen and Bakery departments of our stores, filling roles that require specialized skills such as chefs, production cooks, cake decorators, and bread bakers.
