What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
As mentioned, the foundation of our culture is about trust and accountability. It boils down to our mantra of "behave like an adult, get treated like an adult". While that is vague, the key characteristics we look for are accountability, being a team player, striving for excellence and not being afraid to fail, resilience, and being open-minded. We look for people that appreciate and respect the work-life balance that Northwoods allows for and that enjoy the family atmosphere of Northwoods.
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
Be unique, but also genuine. It can be a fine line to walk, but don't use the same old resume template (nor get too wild with your resume format). Show your passion for what you do - don't just list all the buzzwords that you think will get attention. Highlight what you do outside of work in terms of volunteering or what you care about. Let your personality shine through.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
Currently, we are looking mostly for Sales and Development staff. But in any given year, we also look for people to add to our services, support, and back office teams.
