Perks and Programs

We asked Nextiva to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Nextiva Cares: Nextiva Cares is our corporate social responsibility program in which we partner with local non-profits each month to give back to our community. Through this program, we’ve given nearly $70,000 in donations this year alone and partnered with organizations such as Mayo Clinic, Dignity Health, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and more. Our team often asks when they will have the opportunity to volunteer next. This last month we partnered with Barrow Cleft & Craniofacial Center to put together 100 gift bags for patients and families in the waiting area. We worked together with a girls group who had undergone surgeries at this center. The response from volunteers and patients alike were that both sides felt they had grown from this experience of spreading human kindness. Read more: nextiva.com/cares
  • Company Events: Every year we host the Amazing Bowl, a company-wide flag football tournament, that more than 100 employees participated in this year. It has become so popular that we created the Amazing Bowl Committee which handles team drafts and an awards ceremony for the winning team. The Great Nextiva Picnic is another way we bring families and coworkers together. With over 350 team members and their families in attendance, our most recent picnic included sporting events, outdoor activities, and a fully catered lunch. Lastly, on an annual basis, we host our company appreciation party at a local venue which includes dinner, entertainment, and an awards ceremony led by our CEO, Tomas Gorny, who delivers the award to each winner and publicly recognizes them for their achievements.
  • Spirit Events: Celebrating events internally has always been a part of our culture at Nextiva. Spirit Day is one way we celebrate each year on May 15th, the day that we acquired our first customer in 2008. Each department decorates their space and competes for the “Best Dressed” department. The winning team receives a free lunch, prizes, and bragging rights with the Nextiva Spirit Stick. We have theme days throughout the year including “Twins Day” where team members pair up and wear the same outfit or color, “Dress Like a Manager Day” where employees’ mimic the fashion of their favorite managers, and “Summer Fun Day” where teams wear bright summer clothes, pool floats, and have a dance party.
  • Amazing Service Incentives: Nextiva has a variety of ways we reward our operations department that consistently provides great customer service, which we call Amazing Service. The Support Team Achievement Recognition (STAR) program rewards 13 team members for providing Amazing Service with a $75 gift card monthly. We also have an employee of the month program treating the highest scoring team member to prizes that have been as large as a free trip to Las Vegas. Lastly, through the “Kudos” program, team members are given cash prizes up to $100 per customer compliment. Our apprentice program helps team members achieve their STAR status by giving them the training they need to be successful. Those looking to improve are coached by QA and Leads to help identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Amazing Team Appreciation Days: We recognize our Amazing Teams throughout the year to thank them for everything they do and highlight their successes. The team is celebrated company-wide as they enjoy a day in their honor with catered lunch, free massages, games, prizes, Nextiva swag, and a personalized “Thank you” video from managers and rest of the company at Nextiva.
  • Birthday & Anniversary Gifts: We love to celebrate employees’ birthdays and work anniversaries. For birthdays, employees’ receive individual birthday cakes delivered to their workspace, and their birthday is recognized on our internal blog. For work anniversaries, our employees’ receive custom Nextiva items that increase in value each year. Their first year anniversary they receive a Nextiva hat with a personalized message from their manager, a customized Nike shoes second anniversary, a Nextiva polo third anniversary, a Nextiva backpack on their fourth, and many more items increasing in value up to the 7-year mark. Since Nextiva is 8 years young, as we grow our anniversary incentives will continue grow.
  • Free Food & Snacks: Food is fuel, and we offer weekly breakfast and lunch catered by local vendors and healthy snacks to our team members. This ensures our team has the energy needed to focus on their work. We focus on offering healthy options, such as fresh fruit, trail mix and energy bars, to coincide with our wellness program efforts.
  • Wellness Program: Our wellness program began in 2014 and now has a full committee dedicated to our team’s health and wellness. Each month our health coach, Dr. Jaime Parker, C.P.T. from Wellness Council of Arizona, counsels team members to help them reach their health goals. She also provides nutrition coaching and weekly tips that can easily be incorporated into their daily routine to improve overall mental and physical health. Recently, we also began offering monthly sessions with two naturopathic physicians. Additionally, we offer monthly in-office massages, an annual health fair, health screenings, blood drives, and other events that improve team member’s overall well-being.
  • Nextiva Carpool Club: Through the Nextiva Carpool Club, all employees have the option to carpool with co-workers. We use our internal company blog as a way for riders to sign up and connect with team members that share a similar route to work. We have been able to help 53% of our team members get connected and start saving on their commute.
  • PerkSpot: Every employee at Nextiva has the opportunity to take advantage of discounts from name brands through PerkSpot, an online destination for discounts on a wide variety of products and services. This tool has helped our employees save up to 40% on flower arrangements, movie tickets, gym memberships, rental cars, and more.

    How to Get Hired

We asked Nextiva for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

At Nextiva, we focus on hiring individuals that are aligned with our company mission to revolutionize the business communications industry. Those that are dedicated to providing Amazing Service to their colleagues and customers, who are self-starters open to collaboration, and who are inherently nimble. Success comes easily to those who identify as life-long learners, that are up-to-date with the latest technologies, and who have strong business acumen. How we identify these core strengths in candidates is through our initial application and interview process. We ask questions throughout our application and interviews that focus on what the candidate has learned about Nextiva so far. As well as behavioral questions during their face-to-face interview that give us a better sense of how they respond to certain professional situations.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

When a candidate shows an active interest in Nextiva, what we do, and the position they are applying for, that always stands out. Referencing experience to specific skills and responsibilities of the position shows they’ve done their research. Also, not only discussing past experience but discussing ways they can contribute to the overall mission of the company during their interview will grab the team’s attention.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are currently focused on hiring team members for our sales departments including Inside Sales, Channel Sales, Mid-market, and Enterprise Sales. We are also expanding our operations department and are looking for talented individuals to join our Technical Support, Implementation, and Account Management teams. Lastly, product development is a huge focus for Nextiva this year and we plan to continue our growth within our team of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and System Engineers. We are focused on finding candidates that are adaptable and coachable individuals who are passionate about their work at Nextiva.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

If a candidate is interested in starting a career at Nextiva, it is best to start by visiting our website to get an idea of what we do and who our customers are. The next step should be to visit our dedicated careers page to learn more about our company culture, the opportunities we have available, and the benefits we offer. From here they can apply through our careers page directly. We also suggest checking out our social media pages, connecting with recruiters on LinkedIn, and reaching out to anyone they may know at Nextiva to learn more and express interest in joining the team. Lastly, we suggest preparing a range of questions that they can bring to a potential interview that shows they are prepared and interested in the company.
