Perks and Programs

We asked Nextiva to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Nextiva Cares: Nextiva Cares is our corporate social responsibility program in which we partner with local non-profits each month to give back to our community. We’ve given over $75,000 in donations this year alone and partnered with organizations such as the Arizona Humane Society, the Pat Tillman Foundation, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and more. This last month we partnered with Central Arizona Shelter Services to combat homelessness in the Phoenix community. To kick off the month, volunteers went to CASS's shelter in Phoenix and donated their time by organizing recent donations. For the remainder of June, we hosted an internal bra and underwear drive. With the help of everyone on our team, we were able to donate over 500 bras and pairs of underwear to CASS. Read more: nextiva.com/cares
  • Company Events: Every year we host the Amazing Bowl, a company-wide flag football tournament, that more than 100 employees participated in this past year. It has become so popular that we created the Amazing Bowl Committee, which handles team drafts and an awards ceremony for the winning team. The Amazing Nextiva Picnic is another way we bring families and coworkers together. With over 350 team members and their families in attendance, our most recent picnic included sporting events, outdoor activities, and a fully catered lunch. Lastly, on an annual basis, we host our company appreciation party at a local venue which includes dinner, entertainment, and an awards ceremony led by our CEO, Tomas Gorny.
  • Spirit Events: Celebrating events internally has always been a part of our culture at Nextiva. Spirit Week is one way we celebrate each year. During the week of May 15th, the day that we acquired our first customer in 2008, each day has a different, fun theme (i.e. Pajama Day, Fancy Pants Day, Throwback Thursday, etc.) and our departments compete all week long to become our Spirit Week Champions. The winning team receives a free lunch, prizes, and year-long bragging rights with our Nextiva Spirit Stick. We also have theme days throughout the year including “Dress Like a Manager Day” and “Star Wars Day" to keep up our fun spirit.
  • Nextiva Kudos: Through the Kudos program, members of our operations team are given cash prizes up to $100 per customer compliment. This serves as a bonus for our employees who go above and beyond to provide Amazing Service to our customers. Customers and other team members can submit Kudos to give a shout-out to thank their representative for their help. In addition to the cash bonus, we also have a Kudos TV on our operations floor that highlights recent Kudos that team members receive while encouraging others to keep up the great work.
  • Birthday & Anniversary Gifts: We love to celebrate employees’ birthdays and work anniversaries! For birthdays, employees receive individual birthday brownies delivered to Nextiva - a special treat everyone looks forward to. For work anniversaries, our employees receive custom Nextiva items that increase in value each year. In addition to personalized messages from their manager, team members receive a Nextiva shirt on their first anniversary, customized Nike shoes for their second anniversary, and continue to other items like custom Bose headphones for anniversary number seven.
  • Free Food & Snacks: Food is fuel, and we offer weekly breakfast and lunch catered by local vendors and healthy snacks for our team members. This ensures our team has the energy needed to focus on their work. We offer fun treats like ice cream every other week, but we also focus on offering healthy options such as fresh fruit, trail mix, and energy bars to coincide with our wellness program efforts.
  • Wellness Program: Our wellness program began in 2014 and now has a full committee dedicated to our team’s health and wellness. Each month, our dedicated health coach counsels team members to help them reach their health goals. She also provides nutrition coaching and weekly health tips, as well as monthly sessions with two naturopathic physicians. Additionally, we offer monthly in-office massages, an annual health fair with local vendors, health screenings, and other events that improve our team members' overall well-being.

How to Get Hired

We asked Nextiva for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We focus on hiring individuals that are excited to learn, highly motivated, solution-oriented, embrace change, are always looking for ways to improve current job functions and duties, and are overall go-getters.  Experience in communications and tech is always a plus, but we hire more for attitude, drive, and personality than previous experience.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Candidates definitely stand out when they show an active interest in Nextiva, what we do, and the position they are applying for.  Referencing experience to specific skills and responsibilities of the position shows they’ve done their research.  Also, discussing ways they can contribute to the overall mission of the company during their interview will grab the team’s attention.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are focusing on hiring team members for our various sales departments including Inside Sales, Channel Sales, and Enterprise Sales.  We are also expanding our Operations Department and are looking for talented individuals to join our Technical Support, Onboarding, and Account Management teams.  Lastly, product development is a huge focus for Nextiva and we plan to grow our team of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and System Engineers.  We are focused on finding candidates that are adaptable, coachable, passionate about their work, and who want to grow their careers at Nextiva.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

If a candidate is interested in starting a career at Nextiva, it is best to start by visiting our website to get an idea of what we do and who our customers are.  Then, they should visit our Careers Page to learn more about our company culture, the available opportunities, and the benefits we offer.  They can then apply through our careers page.  We also suggest checking out our social media pages, connecting with recruiters on LinkedIn, and reaching out to anyone they may know at Nextiva to learn more and express interest in joining the team.  Lastly, we suggest preparing a range of questions that they can bring to a potential interview that shows they are prepared and interested in our company.
