We asked New Relic to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Enhanced family leave: All Relics are eligible to receive Paid Parental Leave with the goal to provide 10 weeks of pay. Effective January 1, 2018 (may vary by country as required by local law), this offering has been expanded to all of our global locations. This benefit will pay 100% of On Target Earnings (OTE) or Target Total Cash (TTC) so Relics on commission or with a bonus target will receive both base and incentive target pay during their leave. Parents have more time to bond with their new child following the birth, adoption or placement. Our program is designed to provide important bonding time equally for both parents (or the birth and non-birth parent). Birth parents will likely qualify for additional time off with pay under other programs such as disability or statutory maternity leave.
  • Paid Medical Leave: Paid Medical Time gives New Relic employees peace of mind when they need to take time away from work due to a serious health condition (including childbirth) or need to take care of a family member. Paid Medical Time provides full pay/OTE/TTC for up to 10 weeks!
  • Flex Time Off Program: “Flex” time makes our benefits package even richer and provides the flexibility to take even MORE time off each year. There is no set limit, so it is up to employees to take the time off they would like while ensuring they can deliver on business commitments. Maintaining a healthy balance between work and the rest of life can make a big difference for overall well being. This program is offered to all full-time, exempt (salaried), employees.
  • Volunteer Program: New Relic has developed strategies to promote a culture that gives back to the community. Each calendar year, every employee receives sixteen hours of paid time off to volunteer. Through our volunteering program called DataNerds4Good, we aim to match our Relics’ passions with real needs in local communities.
  • Employee resource groups: We have three formal employee resource groups at New Relic that aim to support underrepresented groups; Women @ New Relic, Relics of Color, and Rainbow Relics. While they are aimed to build a sense of community while at work, the Relics in these groups are some of the biggest drivers of change and crusaders of inclusion. They hold meetings to discuss common issues and provide programmes to spread awareness and knowledge about our many cultures and identities, as well as mixers and social events.
  • Thrive Time: We expect all Relics to contribute to company culture in a way that is outside of their immediate job description -- e.g. leadership in an ERG, doing talks at offsites, mentoring others, organizing events.
