We asked National Corporate Housing to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • TeleHealth: TeleHealth is a service that allows associates to consult with a board certified doctor, for free, via the phone or video chat.  The doctor can diagnose the issue and prescribe short term medication if necessary. It's a great perk because associates can use this service from anywhere in the world, at any time of day or night. It also allows them to email a board certified doctor and provides them with a Health Advocate that they are ask their health related questions to. The questions can range from how to read a medical bill, help with how to navigate the health care system, or even helping an employee understand where to start with long term care for a parent.
  • Corporate Apartment: Following twelve consecutive months of employment, all associates are eligible to use a corporate apartment anywhere in the U.S., free of charge, for up to four nights.
  • Innovation Award: The Innovation Award is given quarterly to the associate that has the most innovative idea that helps the Company increase revenue, control costs, improve technology or a process, and or increase associate satisfaction. At the end of the year an Annual winner is chosen from one of the four quarterly winners. The annual winner gets a $1,000 bonus and is able to attend the Incentive Trip and bring a plus one.
  • New Hire Orientation: All of our new hires go through several days of orientation in our Denver Corporate Office. This provide us the opportunity to introduce them to the Company culture and expectations. Since we have several offices across the US, it also allows associates to build and for relationships with each other. During this time, associates also get to spend time with the Executive team.
  • Incentive Trip: Each year associates that hit their goals are invited to an all expenses paid incentive trip in a warm, tropical location. Not only are they invited, but they get to bring a plus one. The reason they get to bring someone is that this trip is rewarding their success. Along the way they have someone in their life or year that helped them be successful and we want to reward them both! The trip is usually 4 nights and includes activities and events for those attending. There is also an awards celebration the last night.
  • Take Your Child To School: National will provide paid time off for associates to take their child to school on their first day. We believe education is key and it is important to support our associate as they set their child/children up for success on the first day of school. We believe this time also allows parents to meet their child's teacher(s) and establish a relationship from day one.
  • Bring Your Child To Work: National participates in the Bring Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day organization. It is important for our associates to spend time with their children and show them where they work and what they do on a daily basis. This event also provides an opportunity for the kids to see what their interests might be when they grow up and enter the work force. It's important to us that we invest in the future of our kids as they are our future workforce.
  • Conferences: Each year we put in conferences for specific job types. We have a Sales & Management Conference in March and an Account Manager/Customer Service one in the fall. These conferences bring associates together in a single location to learn new job skills, roll out new programs, and network with each other. We mix educational sessions with fun after hours events to build the camaraderie with the teams.
  • Director Of Fun: Each office is tasked with having a Director of Fun for each month. This person is responsible for planning a fun event for the office and has a budget of $50 a month. Some of the events that have been planned are an Easter egg hunt in the office, a mini golf course set up in the office, a pot luck, a name that tune contest, baby photo contest and so on. These events provide a break from work and build camaraderie within the teams.
  • Summer Concert Series: Each Tuesday the corporate office shuts down a little early to enjoy live music across the street. The whole office goes and we provide beverages and snacks and listen to live music. We also invite our families to join us!

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

While our team members vary, each bringing their own unique qualities to the National team, there are a few key characteristics that everyone shares. When interviewing potential candidates we look for those that have a passion for providing superior customer service, have a positive and pleasant attitude, are resilient, and enjoy being part of a team. National’s vision states, “We are in the business of passionately creating Exceptional Experiences. We do this by consistently delivering Surprisingly Superior Service worldwide.” In addition, our first Guiding Principle states “We treat our people as our most valued resources”.  We seek employees who will provide the very best care and customer service to our clients, guests, and each other. 

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Prospective employees will get our attention by their history of and/or passion for providing the best in customer service. While we seek experience, we understand some will not come to National with a background in corporate housing or hospitality. What stands out in a sea of resumes is customer service experience and real life situations that were handled and resolved with the customer being the number one focus. We also look for employees that have had a pattern of success in their careers and who can bring fresh ideas to the table, to continue moving National forward.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

In the coming year we are focused on growing our technology and operations teams to include developers, customer service, account management, and corporate support positions. Last year we focused on growing our sales teams and we had incredible growth!  In order to keep up with that growth and service the business we have the need to expand our internal tech teams and our operations teams.  We are looking to fill positions in all 28 of our locations, including the UK.
