Perks and Programs

We asked N2 Publishing to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Flexible/Remote Work: The N2 Team is given the opportunity to work flexible hours and/or work remotely as often as their position allows. For many people, this means they can set their work schedules so they have the ability to pick up the kids from school. Others choose to use the flexibility to take a break during the workday to head to the beach to surf. Others work almost entirely from home.
  • Generous Paid Time Off: All full-time team members enjoy generous paid time off each year: 8 paid holidays, 5 to 15 days of time off to use at their discretion (days vary based on tenure), and a 2-week company-wide break to ring in the new year.
  • Lunch and Learns: N2 team members are invited to attend a biweekly program featuring a speaker on the topic of personal and/or professional growth. Speakers range from leaders within N2, to leaders within the local community, to experts on a certain topic like personal finance or real estate. Those in attendance enjoy a complimentary catered lunch.
  • Fitness and Health: We have an on-site fitness instructor, who is accessible to full-time team members, part-time team members, and interns. He holds two to three group fitness classes each weekday. We also have a full-time nutritionist. We also offer incentivized health programs, where employees can win fitness gear like clothes or vivofits.
  • Team Member Relationship Building: N2 provides many opportunities for coworkers to build relationships: a monthly after-work social with company provided appetizers, many company sponsored co-ed recreation teams, a casual office environment with lots of shared space, fitness classes with elements of team-building activities, internal communication tools that provide a medium for team members to share information about milestones in their life, and more.
  • Team Member Wellness: N2 hosts optional courses on financial wellness led by the executive team as well as experts from the community. Emotional wellness is promoted through access to a licensed counselor, as well as an annual marriage stipend to strengthen personal relationships through counseling and/or couple retreats.
  • N2 Care Team: The N2 Care Team exists to love and care for individuals within the N2 Family, especially in times of need or during a challenging season of life. This team provides motivational weekly calls, prayer and/or support, and connections to third party resources when necessary.
  • Nutrition: We have a registered dietician and licensed nutritionist available to our team full-time. She gladly meets with our team one-on-one to evaluate each team member's dietary needs, as well as provide treatment, education, counseling and research to help our team reach their nutrition-related goals. We also provided subsidized vending machines with healthy snacks and drinks for our team to enjoy throughout the day.
  • Leadership Program: N2 is committed to promoting leaders from within whenever possible. Because of this, there is a great responsibility to train our leaders. Last year, we developed an award-winning nine-month-long training program where elected participants are given guidance and training on how to be effective leaders, not only within N2, but for endeavors outside the office as well.
  • N2GIVES: Our people work for a greater purpose. This past year, $2.2M of our revenue went to fight human trafficking locally, nationally and around the world. Those who work on our team know they are not just working to earn a living, they are working to make a real difference in the lives of real people. Our team, though, not only had the ability to have their work contribute to the cause, they were also invited to be a part of the donating process. We took recommendations from team members about which nonprofits we should support. Additionally, we had a Field Day where people could launch water balloons in a sling shot at the CEO and he would donate money for every hit.

Leadership Diversity

Workforce Diversity

This year, N2 gave away $2,200,000 to fight human trafficking. As a part of that, we had a field day where the team could come out and help raise money for the cause. That doesn't mean, though, we didn't fit a three-legged race into the festivities, too.

DEMOGRAPHICS

Each year, we hold a company-wide ping pong tournament. The competition can be tough, but nothing beats the feeling of the CEO lifting you up on his shoulders after a victory.

How to Get Hired

We asked N2 Publishing for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

It's important for each N2 team member to feel like they fit within our culture. To accomplish this, we seek specific characteristics during the interview process. We look for someone who: is self-motivating, self-disciplined, and self-improving; doesn't wait to be told what to do; never feels "that's not my job"; picks up the trash lying on the floor; behaves like an owner; demonstrates loyalty; owns their mistakes; remains humble; is fun to work with; has a strong moral compass; is team-oriented; is emotionally healthy; is trust-worthy; values function over flash; and is a scholarship player with a walk-on approach.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We're interested in getting to know people in a genuine and authentic way throughout the interview process. Always be yourself. If you're a friendly professional with a strong work ethic, then you will get our attention.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

N2 is growing a lot, and so we're always looking for more awesome people to add to our team. While we hire people from an array of skill sets, we anticipate continued growth on our Technology Team. Many of our positions are entry level, so we're always on the look out for regular people who can do extraordinary things. Another opportunity within the N2 Family is through sales; our sales team members are scattered throughout the U.S., working directly with our communities and advertising partners.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Please check us out online! Our website is a great place to start. There, we regularly update our blog, which we would recommend anyone interested should check out. We are also active on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Glassdoor, so don't forget to follow us on those sites and look out for our posts. Anyone interested in applying for positions within the N2 Publishing Home Office in Wilmington, NC should complete the online application at application.n2pub.com.
