Perks and Programs

We asked myNexus, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Telework: We provide flexible scheduling and telework options for our employees as our desire is to find the most qualified employees, regardless of where they may live. Our employees who commute to the office are given flexible scheduling options to combat traffic concerns.
  • Wellness Program: We work with our medical insurer to provide a high-quality and engaging wellness plan.  This plan integrates physical activity, emotional, mental and financial wellness, incentives in the way of "bucks for points" where employees can earn gift cards or gifts from the Insurer's "shopping mall" valued at up to $300 per year. Additionally, the company offers up to $900 a year in wellness premium rebates for employees achieving set wellness goals. We also have periodic challenges, educational sessions, and activities to improve and reward wellness throughout the organization.
  • PTO Share Bank: Compassion is one of our core values and we see that in our employees every day. Employees may donate their PTO to a PTO Share Bank making paid time off available to our employees who are out on an extended leave due to a medical or family crisis. We also donate all unused and "forfeited" PTO at the end of the year to the Share Bank rather than returning it to the company's coffers. An employee who is on leave with no pay may request funds from the PTO Share Bank and the request is reviewed by an executive committee for approval.
  • Employee Appreciation: During the first week in March each year we celebrate our employees with a number of activities. We send hand-written thank you notes to our employees at home so the family members can see how much their loved ones are appreciated. Our executive and HR teams also cook breakfast for our employees - complete with omelet and waffle bars, yogurt parfaits, bagels, donuts, chicken sandwiches, and much more! We provide a gift to each employee and have door prize drawings including movie tickets, restaurant gift cards and wine. We have also had chair massages, daily prizes, and much more!
  • Charitable Giving & VTO: myNEXUS and myNEXUS employees support a KIPP charter school collecting winter coats, uniform pants, gloves, hats, underwear, socks, and t-shirts. Our employees also participate in career day at the school and job shadowing of students onsite. Additionally, we provide our employees with eight hours of volunteer time a year to spend with either KIPP Academy or a non-profit of their choice. Our website and our employee portal display a list of charitable organizations our employees support.  Another Core value is "protecting the environment" and myNEXUS partners with Waves, an organization that employs developmentally disabled adults to pick up and sort our recyclables.
  • Employee Referral Bonus: We believe the best candidates are referred from our employees, and our employees can be our best sales team! In an area with an unemployment rate currently averaging 2.2%, the best employees can be hard to find. We pay referral bonuses to our employees that range from $250 - $1,000. We prefer to pay our employees over recruiters and employee referrals come with a better potential outcome than hiring someone unknown to anyone in the organization. Over the last year more than 80% of our hires came from an employee referral.
  • Yoshi Memberships: myNEXUS pays the monthly membership for employees who wish to have their cars serviced at work! This is a nice benefit for those employees who commute - saving time on filling up, getting a car washed or having the windshield wipers changed.
  • College Colors Day: Being in the southeast region of the United States, college football is almost a religion. We celebrate the day before college football season starts by having a "tailgate party" including wings, appetizers, desserts, corn hole, collegiate attire, and a lot of "smack" talk. This past year we incorporated raising money for Hurricane Harvey relief. We had team captains representing the favored college teams. We encouraged our employees to donate to organizations supporting hurricane relief, and then submit their receipts to their favored team's captain. We collected over $15,000 for a variety of agencies supporting hurricane relief and we had healthy competition throughout the days around College Colors Day.
  • Employee Health & Welfare Plans: We offer Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, and Vision insurance, Basic & Supplemental Life & AD&D coverage, Short and Long Term Disability Insurance, Dependent Care FSAs, and Health Savings Accounts.  We have a robust Wellness Plans that offers incentives up to $1,200 per year.  We also assist our employees with their employee benefits' cost.  We pay the majority of medical expenses, match HSA contributions, pay one-half of the dental cost, and 100% of the basic life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment coverage.  We also pay 100% of the cost of long-term disability insurance.  We also offer a 401(k) Plan with a wide variety of fund options, including Target Date Funds.
