  • CommUNITY Starts Here: Week of Caring is held annually and brings employees together to support dozens of nonprofit organizations in our communities. Employees go out in project teams for one (paid) day during the week, choosing from a variety of organizations and causes that benefit families in need, provide education to underserved youth, beautify neighborhoods and more.
  • Fostering Innovation with HATCH: Our HATCH program provides a conduit for direct employee input into a myriad of business concerns. HATCH is an online platform that all employees can access at any time either through the corporate intranet or via the recently launched HATCH app, giving employees the opportunity to submit and review ideas and suggestions 24/7. We encourage employees to use HATCH to submit ideas related to any area of the business or work environment, and many of these ideas are brought to life within our organization.
  • Celebrating our Heritage: Each year, we hold eight standing employee-organized and executive-sponsored cultural celebrations. Employees collaborate together bring the entire workforce new experiences and opportunities for engagement each year. The eight cultural celebrations are built around these Congressionally recognized designated heritage periods: February – Black History Month, March – Women’s History Month; May – American-Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month; June – LGBTQ Pride Month; September – Hispanic/Latin Heritage Month; October – National Disability Employment Awareness Month; November – Veterans Day; November – Native American Heritage Month. In addition to these officially sponsored recognitions, employees regularly hold other cultural activities, celebrating holidays, such as Chinese New Year, EID, Diwali, and others. While these events don’t have official leadership sponsorship, they are employee-committee created and the company provides guidelines and funding to support them.
  • Running and Walking Club: Employee health and wellness is an important aspect of our company benefits. The Running/Walking Club is employee-led and encourages people to participate in road and adventure events in their communities. To increase participation, there is often a friendly competition between the company’s two main locations (Fort Worth and Farmington Hills) to see which group can accumulate the most miles over a certain time period. There are more than 150 employee members in the running/walking club -- including the CEO.
  • Success Stories: A recognition program acknowledges commitment, effort and achievements that support the organization’s goals and values while focusing on customer's expectations. Individuals are recognized and receive awards and their colleagues have a chance to learn from their success as their stories are shared among teams and departments. Managers may also provide recognition to individual team members through Success Stories points that employees can redeem for cash using a custom-designed VISA debit card. Managers can also purchase branded merchandise to reward their employees.
  • Business Resource Groups (BRG: In 2015, at the recommendation of the Diversity and Inclusion Council, the Operations Committee approved the launching of six new Business Resource Groups: • SPECTRUM (LGBTQ+), • IGNITE (Black/African-American), • EN-GEN-Y (Millennials and Generations), • WIN (Women’s Innovation Network), • A2PEG (Asian/Asian Pacific) • VETERANS COUNCIL (Veterans). The groups are based on a strong underlying business strategy and are empowered by leadership to make a difference. They also participate in organizing cultural activities throughout the year, as well as support employee development and community initiatives.
  • Every Experience Matters: CustomerONE is a strategic initiative that inspires our employees to create positive and lasting memories for our customers, whether they are our colleagues, dealers, brand partners or those who purchase our products and services. Its tagline sums it up: Every Experience Matters. This began as a U.S. initiative in 2012, the program is now benchmarked in several countries around the globe, as well as different business divisions, and is universally viewed as a critical element in our company culture.
  • Experiencing Perspectives Art Program: Art Inspires Our Workplace and Communities and is very important at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. We believe strongly in arts power to inspire and bring about change. Our Experiencing Perspectives art program encompasses annual art exhibitions in in our Farmington Hills (MI) and Fort Worth (TX) facilities, art tours, community conversations and scholarships for emerging artists and other art activities. We also want our own employees to share in the joy and inspiration that comes from creating art, not just being a spectator.
