Perks and Programs

We asked MDVIP to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Staff Picnic (annually): Catered whole day event, where employees and their families can participate in fun activities, bond and enjoy a relaxing time together.
  • Town Hall (monthly): In addition to receiving updates on the performance of the company employees are offered a 3-course meal.
  • Holiday Party (annually): Each year it is a themed event (e.g. 2018 was Back to the Sixties). This is a catered event designed to encourage employees to 'let their hair down' and engage with their colleagues on a personal level.
  • Big Kahuna Club: Sales employees are recognized for the number of signed contracts. Winners are awarded a 4-night trip to recognize those who have made the most contribution to the company's goals
  • Just Did It Award: Personal Accountability is inherent in our core values and reiterated by the IIPLT mnemonic phrase ‘I Improved People’s Lives Today’. As we maintain the focus on our core values, we recognize employees who demonstrate personal accountability with a sense of urgency. Awards are made as designated at the monthly Town Hall meeting. Recipients receive a physical awarded and customized Nike sneakers with the IIPLT phrase.
  • MDVIP Membership Benefit: Regular, Full-time employee can enroll with a MDVIP Physician at no cost to the employee, and also enroll one family member at a 50% discounted rate. Valued at approximately $1,800 - $2,700 annually if enrolled with a family member.
  • Top 5 Employees of the Year Award: At the end of each year, our Recognition and Reward Committee shortlists 10 employees from ALL the nominations for employee of the month. They recommend their top 10 employees to the Executive Leadership Team and they select the top 5 employees as winners of the Top 5 Employees of the year. Top 5 being aligned with each of our core values. Awards are presented at the annual Holiday Party in December and Recipients receive a trophy and $1,500 (pre-tax).
  • Culture Team Events: Our Culture team leads a range of activities: Cooking classes; Health & Wellness Walks; Healthy snacks at least once per month; Toiletries drive for the homeless; Back to school supplies for those in need inside and outside the company; Journey Week - recognizing innovations and celebrating key milestones in the company's history; Spirit Week - employees celebrate their personal culture as they learn more about the company; Halloween Contest – best individual and team costume receives a prize; Mediation classes - a trained Yoga Instructor spends time with employees to help them relax; Lunch and Serve - employees cut out and sew cuddly bears which are donated to the local fire and rescue service to give to children who are involved in any form of accidents etc.
  • Spot Bonus: This pre-tax award is given to employees who have gone over and above to deliver on a project or a task.
  • Health Savings Account contribution: For those enrolled in the company’s medical plan, the company provides a contribution to the Employee’s Health Savings Account. The annualized amount is $1,500. Up to an additional $500 is available by completing certain wellness-focused activities, such as MDVIP annual wellness exam and Health risk assessments.

How to Get Hired

We asked MDVIP for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

The company is looking to engage candidates who reflect our core values and believe in our Purpose and Mission.  Candidates should have a strong skill set that matches the needs of the role, but also be willing to demonstrate their work ethic, integrity and commitment to professional development as a strong candidate. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, is expected in most roles.  Accountability to achieve goals within the anticipated timeline is vital to the individual’s success. 

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Candidates who actively engage with us throughout the interview process is key to demonstrating their desire to work with the organization.  This includes developing a dialogue with the recruiter and hiring manager to detail their fit for our culture, how their prior experience matches the needs of the role. Strong candidates complete their own research to better understand the company’s services and ask good questions to ensure we clarify areas of uncertainty.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

The company continues to add staff in key areas to support the organization’s network and new initiatives.  In the upcoming year it is expected to have additional account management staff and some new roles focused on medical specific initiatives.
