New Engineer Rotation Program - Class of June '15

Perks and Programs

We asked MAVERICK Technologies to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Hire A Hero: MAVERICK had partnered with the US Navy Nuclear Power Program to help find employment for enlisted members who are separating after their first tour of duty. In the pilot program, we hired three and included them in our new engineering orientation program to get them started in the world of Industrial Automation and Control. Due to the successful integration of these sailors into our company, MAVERICK will continue to recruit, hire and train similar candidates and integrate them into MAVERICK offices around the country for the foreseeable future.
  • New Engineer Rotation Program: MAVERICK’s Engineer Rotation Program is designed to help entry level engineers gain a better understanding of MAVERICK while developing them into the best processes controls engineers they can be. The new engineers start out with a MAVERICK orientation at the Columbia office for two weeks. These two weeks are comprised of getting to know the insights of Maverick, ISA training, and hands-on training with PLCs and HMIs. After the orientation the real journey begins when the engineers go back to their office and begin diving deep into being a process controls engineer.
  • Comp Time And PTO: We offer paid holidays plus one paid floating holiday that employees can take off when it makes sense for them. We also give incentives to our Engineers who work overtime as well. It is not uncommon for our salaried engineers to put in overtime. Recognizing the need for a good work-life balance, MAVERICK has an overtime/compensation time plan somewhat unique in our industry. All hours worked on client projects are compensated in the form of compensation and/or paid overtime. After finishing an arduous project our employees are encouraged to use some of their accrued compensation time to relax and reconnect with their families, saving their normal PTO for planned family vacations. Up to 160 hours of compensation time can be accrued and carried over indefinitely.
  • MAVERICK University: Continuing education is a shared responsibility at MAVERICK, and we make every effort to facilitate a learning environment. In 2006 we founded MAVERICK University in response to an overwhelming employee request for even more educational opportunities. Our learning department is continually adding new programs and looking for new ways to learn.
  • Work-Life Balance: MAVERICK goes above and beyond to ensure our employees have the proper work-life balance. Flex time, comp time and working from home programs are all available to those that need it. Everyone, including the CEO, truly believes that family comes first.
