Perks and Programs

We asked Mavens to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Stars: Stars is a program that awards employees for going above and beyond for the client. Any time a client sends any messages (phone/email/etc.) saying that they are extremely happy with the work that was done, they couldn't do it without this person, etc. the employee is awarded a set monetary amount for their great efforts.
  • Birthday: On every employee's birthday, they are sent an Amazon gift card in the amount of $101 and given the day off to celebrate their special day. This is a big hit with everyone!
  • Anniversary: On every employee's anniversary they are sent an Amazon gift card equal to their years of service times $100 (eg. 3 years = $300). Again, this seems to be a big hit and is greatly appreciated by all.
  • Work From Home: All employees are offered the chance to work from home or from our office in Chicago. Even those folks who are located out of the state are given the opportunity to come and co-work anytime they wish, and the flight is on us!
  • Flexible Work hours: Employees are able to work on their own schedule which means that their work hours can be whenever they need them to be.
  • No People Managers: We have no formal management team. We hire people who are capable of managing themselves, are self motivated, and who are willing and able to jump into any project to help out a co-worker/team in need.
  • Open PTO Policy: We have no set time off policy so our employees are able to take as much or as little time as they feel they need. The only requirement we have is that you find a suitable backup and that they are available, then let your clients know you are out of the office and introduce your backup, if necessary.
  • Maternity Policy: We pay up to 100% of salary for 6 weeks in conjunction with STD coverage.
  • Allstate Coverage: We offer an Allstate accident policy for all employees and their families that covers many different accidents along with reimbursing up to $100 of an employee's co-pays or out of pocket expenses or $200 per family per year. This policy is 100% paid for by Mavens.
  • 401(k) Safe Harbor Contribution: We will contribute 3% of your gross salary to your 401(k) if you're classified as a non-highly compensated employee under the Safe Harbor plan.

How to Get Hired

We asked Mavens for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

There are the cognitive skills: critical thinking, creative thinking, and empathetic thinking.  Then there are the soft skills:  accountability, professionalism, craftsmanship, and exercising good judgement.  Those are the key characteristics we look for when interviewing.   Also, having an IT Consulting background and industry experience in Health and Life Sciences and with CRM systems are definite plusses, but not required.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Be well aware of what makes Mavens different from other companies.  Know who we are and what we do. Be knowledgeable on open source technology, look us up on Glassdoor, and be responsive in the interview process.  These things will get a prospective employee noticed.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Currently, we are looking to hire skilled Technial Architects, Solution Architects and Salesforce Consultants.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
