Perks and Programs

We asked Matrix Service Company to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Talent Pipeline: Our talent pipeline programs help ensure we attract best in class employees. Our Emerging Leaders Program is a 2-year program for recent college graduates that provides three 6-month rotations through our major business units along with leadership and soft skills training. Participants complete the program by presenting a capstone project similar to what they might in a postgraduate program. Our ELP Internships offer pair current college students with seasoned Matrix employees and also provide for networking with other employees and formal mentoring by a current ELP member. Our Company also partners with local and regional colleges and technical schools to offer Traditional Internships in areas including Accounting, Engineering, Marketing, Human Resources and Fabrication.
  • Talent Development: Our talent development programs help us retain best in class employees and provide our employees with the tools and resources they need to achieve their maximum potential. Matrix University offers access to on-demand training in hundreds of courses including those focused on professional development as well as skills-based training. Our Field / Fabrication Leadership Program helps ensure our frontline management also possess strong leadership skills. Our Leading to a Higher Standard Program offers training to current employees who have been identified as potential future leaders to prepare them to take on greater, more complex responsibilities.
  • Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement: Beyond our own Matrix University, we offer our full time administrative employees reimbursement for eligible educational expenses for a grade of A or B, or for a passing grade in a “Pass/Fail” course, up to an annual maximum. Courses of study must be directly related to an employee’s present job or must be determined to enhance the employee’s potential for advancement.
  • Safety Culture - SafetyMatters: Safety is a behavior-based culture that resonates throughout our Company. In our business, where employees can be exposed to dangerous situations, we want to make sure each of our employees goes home to their families safely every day. Led from the top by our CEO, our Safety culture is embraced all the way to the field. All employees receive extensive training, understand and use Stop Work Authority and take responsibility for incident reporting including near-misses. We perform taproot investigations to determine and correct the true cause of any issue, audit practices frequently, and regularly report on potential issues and best practices. This past fiscal year our Company achieved a record low Total Recordable Incident Rate.
  • HealthMatters: With the goal of helping our employees live healthier lives, Matrix Service Company launched HealthMatters, a program offering our employees valuable insight into their own health status and that of their family members. Under HealthMatters, employees and their families can receive free annual health and biometric screenings, access to tobacco cessation programs and to our Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, employees receive access to tools and resources to help them set and achieve a healthy lifestyle. If annual requirements are met, employees can also earn a premium discount on their health insurance. We also sponsor “get moving” activities to encourage healthy behavior, and nearly 800 Oklahoma employees receive access to free onsite and near-site wellness clinics.
  • Community Service / Volunteering: At Matrix Service Company, community service is one of our core values and not only a privilege, but an obligation we believe we have to give back to the communities in which we live and work. We also know that having a robust community service program adds to the vitality and pride our employees have in working for us. As such, we encourage our employees to volunteer, join boards and give back. We provide paid time off each year for full time office/administrative employees to do so and also match employee donations. As a Company we also sponsor and provide employees with the opportunity to volunteer at a significant number of events throughout the year.
  • Work/Life Balance: In addition to our generous holiday and PTO programs, most administrative employees have the option of working flexible schedules or flexible work weeks, based on individual needs.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution: Matrix Service Company’s 401(k) plan is one of the Company’s most generous benefits. The Company matches 100% on the first three percent of salary deferral contributions an employee makes to the 401(k) plan and 50% on the next two percent. Vesting is immediate for both employee and employer contributions. Employees are eligible to participate after completing two consecutive months of service.
  • Company Events and Entertainment: The Company hosts annual events for employees and their families and also offers tickets to sporting events, concerts and other activities on a first-come, first-serve basis, free of charge. These activities provide an opportunity our employees to spend time together and with their families. We work hard, but we also enjoy taking time out to play.
  • Other Perks: Matrix Service Company offers its employees a number of other perks including discounts for products and services that include home/auto insurance, cell phone plans and offsite fitness centers.
