  • Safety: Safety is our number one core value. In our business, where employees can be exposed to dangerous situations, protecting our people and those around them is paramount. We want everyone going home to their loved ones safely at the end of each day. Beginning with our CEO, our safety culture is embedded throughout our organization. Employees receive extensive safety training with the goal of zero incidents. Our culture encourages employees to take responsibility to eliminate a safety hazard, including stopping work if needed. Employees identify what they value most as a daily reminder to always work safe – we call it our Big 5. We also invest in programs and technology to analyze, understand and eliminate potential future safety risks.
  • Health and Wellness: Our robust health and wellness programs are designed to help our employees and their families live healthier, more rewarding lives. Our employees have access to free annual health and biometric screenings, to tobacco cessation programs and to an employee assistance program (EAP) which for some has been life-saving. The EAP is available 24/7 and provides our employees with guidance and direction when most needed. Employees also have access to resources to help them achieve a healthier lifestyle like free onsite/near-site clinics, virtual doctors, gym reimbursements, discounted fees for Weight Watchers and healthy snack delivery. Our leadership encourages employees to be proactive in taking control of their health and well-being. Because of this encouragement, many employees have walking meetings and others have come together to go to local trails and walk as a team. Employees receive a monthly Health Bulletin at home giving them tips on how they can stay healthy.
  • Career Growth and Development: At Matrix, employees drive our success and represent our most important competitive advantage. Providing development opportunities is one of the best ways to ensure our employees continue to flourish and meet their professional goals. Matrix provides all employees with opportunities for instructor-led training, more than 250 online training modules, self-paced training programs, company-wide lunch and learns, formal leadership programs and a Peer Advisor Program for new employees. The company encourages employees to take 40 hours or more of training annually. In addition, we offer a two-year leadership program for recent college graduates, formal project management training and a robust field supervisor development program. We also offer an internship program to students nearing graduation. Additionally, Matrix will reimburse full-time employees college tuition, up to $5,250 a year, to allow them to pursue a degree to better achieve their goals.
  • Community Involvement: Making a difference at a community level is core to who we are. We believe being of service to the communities in which we live and work is both a privilege and an obligation. Our employees are encouraged to volunteer, join boards and give back. We provide 8 hours of paid time off each year per employee for non-company related volunteer activities, match individual employee contributions to an organization of their choice up to $250 and match United Way contributions. Additionally, the company’s active involvement with programs and organizations like the United Way Day of Caring, volunteering in the classroom for Junior Achievement, mentoring students through STEM and adopting angels from the Salvation Army Angel Tree provide our employees with additional paid time away from work to lead fundraising, volunteering and mentoring efforts.

Demonstrating confidence, leading by example, and encouraging employee engagement and collaboration through open, positive communication are among the traits we look for. We hire individuals that know how to earn trust and respect through integrity, ability, humility, courage, conviction and accountability.
