  • New Recruit Housing: New recruits that are not local to the Reston, VA area are offered free corporate housing for the first month of their employment. This program is completely at the expense of Macedon Technologies.
  • Profit Sharing: All employees share in an annual bonus based on company performance.
  • Parental Considerations: In the event of unexpected school closings, parents may choose to bring their children to work or may work from home. If children are sick, employees are allowed to work remotely
  • Recruiting Bonus: For employees that recruit their friends to work for Macedon, we offer both a monitory bonus and more importantly a ‘toy’. They toy is specially chosen for the employee. Toys have ranged from GoPro cameras, to an Xbox, to a new Apple Watch!

    Are there any unusual or especially rigorous steps of your hiring process that candidates should be aware of?

    Macedon uses a three phased interview process.  During each of the phases, prospective employees will be reviewed on 25 specific areas.  These areas include, but are not limited to, Technical, Personality, Motivation, and Intelligence.  In order to progress from one phase to the next, the prospective employee must consistently score at an acceptable level or above for each area.   The final interview will be with our CEO.  During this interview, the CEO will focus on areas that scored lower in the prior interviews.  When possible, interviews are conducted in-person or via Skype.    

    Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

    Macedon focuses on Computer Scientists or Computer Engineers from top engineering schools.  The majority of our candidates are directly out of school or may have one or two years of experience.
