Perks and Programs

We asked Logistics Plus Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • On-Site Fitness Center: The company provides an on-site fitness center, complete with cardio equipment, and both machine and free weights. The company also provides a full-time fitness trainer that works with employees, individually and in groups, on fitness and nutrition throughout the work day.
  • Discretionary 401K Contributions: The company, at it's discretion based on company results, will provide one-time 100% employer contributions to employee 401K accounts. Additionally, the company will offer 401K contribution matching. For example, in 2017, the company provided all employees with a one-time 5% of salary contribution to 401K accounts and an employer/employee contribution match of up to 3% throughout the year (that continues into 2018).
  • Relaxed Dress Policy: Our only real dress policy is no pajamas. Beyond that, employees are encouraged to come to work dressed however they feel most comfortable (e.g., t-shirts, tennis shoes, shorts, etc.). We only require business casual dress on special occasions when customers visit us.
  • Contemporary Health Benefits: Logistics Plus provides a good, affordable and broad health plan to its employees. There are multiple health coverage flex and PPO plans available, including FSA accounts. Additionally, dental and vision coverage are provided.
  • Free Lunch Days: The CEO provides free lunch to all corporate employees every-other-Wednesday. These are full buffet lunches in the restaurant located directly below our offices, and it provides a great opportunity for employees to connect and interact in a very casual setting.
  • Great Downtown Location: Logistics Plus is located in downtown Erie, PA putting it in proximity to many downtown apartments, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. Additionally, Logistics Plus sub-leases the lower portion of its headquarters to one of Erie's best micro-breweries, known for its great beer, food, and vibe. Employees are allowed to move freely between the brewerie and their offices as needed to "relax and recharge."
  • Active Internship Program: Logistics Plus has given hundreds of local college students a chance to excel through the company’s robust internship program since it first began in 1999. Interns get a chance to experience a high-end, world-class business. We get their enthusiasm, knowledge, computer skills and the chance to see whether they work well in an environment where the customer always "needed it yesterday." We believe in giving people chances to grow, and we've found if you set the right atmosphere and give employees responsibilities, letting them take ownership of their role here, that a lot of them will not just take it on, but excel. For that reason, many interns end up with permanent, full-time positions with Logistic Plus after they graduate.
  • Giving Back With Community Support: Logistics Plus is actively involved in downtown improvement projects and local charities. Our commitment to the community is huge. The company sponsors many national and local charitable organizations; and employees have weekly fundraisers for local charities. Our founder and CEO believes in "karma" and what you put out in the world eventually comes back to you.
  • We Celebrate Diversity: As a global logistics company, we have employees that represent every gender and a multitude of cultures and religions around the world. To celebrate our diversity, we proudly fly nearly 50 country flags at the top of our global headquarters - each one representing the nationality of one of our employees or a country where we do business.

How to Get Hired

We asked Logistics Plus Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

On the culture side of things, we try to create a very fun, work-hard-play-hard kind of culture here; and employees that enjoy the freedom and latitude we give them, really seem to like it here. If you do the right job and you hire the right people for that – they love it! If you hire the wrong people, they hate it. If you want to come to a place where you’re told what you do, and every day someone is going to tell you “good-job, good-job,” and it’s the same thing day-in-day-out, then this place is not for you. But if you like to take on new challenges, try some new things, have some fun, and have a few laughs along the way – then this is the place for you. You find those people and they stay forever.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Prospective employees can reach out to us to inquire about career opportunities at any time. We proactively provide contact information on the Careers section of our website, with updated job postings. That is always a great place to start. Beyond that, we are very much a relationship business. So we would encourage prospective employees to reach out and connect with our current employees. Many of our new hires come from employee referrals and connections, so creating relationships with our current employees goes a long way. For younger prospects, we have a very active internship program with all the local universities. We would encourage college students to inquire about one of our many available internship opportunities.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We place less emphasis on industry experience and greater importance on candidates with a "passion for excellence" and a willingness to learn, work hard, and have a positive attitude. We will always find opportunities for candidates that embody these traits.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

As mentioned above, visit the Careers section of our website, view available job openings, and send us your professional resume. Also, read the many articles we have on our website and social media and connect with our current employees where you can.
