We asked LogicManager, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Daily Huddle: LogicManager holds a Daily Huddle where everyone in the company is encouraged to share insights from their day, challenges they face to solicit help, ideas to improve company policies and procedures, or updates on a fun social activity others might be interested in. For example, the sales team might notice that potential customers have been asking a lot about LogicManager’s expertise in a certain industry. This insight would prompt the marketing team to create new campaigns for that industry, and other teams to explore growth opportunities for the use case. LogicManager’s Daily Huddle is just one of the many ways the company fosters cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor Program: As LogicManager grows rapidly, the company seeks ways to ensure its award-winning culture stays intact. To this end, LogicManager created a Mentor Program. LogicManager’s Mentor Program is entirely volunteer based, with more than half of all employees choosing to join the program. During the mentor process, new hires are matched with current employees on different teams to allow for cross-functional relationships and open conversation. Mentors frequently take their mentee out for coffee, a walk by the water, or lunch, during which they talk about anything from whether it’s cool to keep hot sauce in the fridge to advice on who to connect with on a certain project. This relationship enables new hires to feel more comfortable in their role, make a new friend, and get involved in LogicManager’s culture.
  • Strength Finder Program: LogicManager uses the Strengths Finder Program, based on Tom Rath’s StrengthsFinder 2.0 Gallup assessment, to identify individual strengths and build teams around complementary perspectives. Growing teams around complementary strengths has enabled LogicManager to incorporate varying perspectives into the innovation process and implement increasingly creative solutions. In addition to providing the company insight into who would bring value to a particular project, the Strengths Finder Program gives every employee a way to articulate what they’re good at and what they enjoy doing, which then empowers them to express to their manager the kinds of opportunities they’d like to pursue. LogicManager’s focus on leveraging individual strengths and passions has helped create an atmosphere where employees are incredibly proud of the work they do.
  • Education Reimbursement Program: LogicManager believes in empowering employees to reach their full potential in and out of work. Many employees have expressed interest in learning new skills or developing expertise in subjects outside of their immediate job description. To help employees achieve their goals, LogicManager developed an Education Reimbursement Program. Whether employees want to earn a certificate in Advanced Database Engineering or go back to school to earn their J.D., LogicManager provides partial tuition reimbursement to incentivize continuous learning.
  • LogicManager's Culture Team: To preserve the company's unique culture as it scales, LogicManager has created a Culture Team. The Culture Team is a volunteer-based committee, which instills the creative, collaborative, innovative culture at LogicManager by planning a variety of activities and events over the course of each year. This includes intramural sports teams, video game nights, fantasy football leagues, fantasy bachelor and bachelorette leagues, Yankee swaps, bi-weekly yoga, and more. Aside from all the fun, the Culture Team is also partially responsible for keeping a pulse on company culture, and contributing new ideas to make the office more efficient.
  • Summer Lawn Party: LogicManager’s annual Summer Lawn Party is a company retreat hosted at the home of LogicManager’s CEO, Steven Minsky. At the retreat, all employees take the day off from work and are randomly assigned to teams to play a variety of Olympic-style lawn games, earning points for successes and wins. At the end of the day, the team with the most points is awarded a trophy, small prizes, and most importantly, office bragging rights. In addition to the games, LogicManager provides a plethora of food, snacks, and beverages. The Summer Lawn Party has become a company-wide favorite and something teams looks forward to each and every year. It’s a time for the entire company to celebrate success, relax, and have fun.
  • Pizza Fridays: LogicManager offers weekly Pizza Friday events where employees from all departments, roles, and levels gather for a free, company-sponsored lunch. The only rules are employees can’t talk about work and they can’t take their lunch back to their desks. This has become a weekly company tradition of sharing stories, building personal relationships, and having an interesting experience with folks employees might not interact with on a daily basis. As a tradition that can be traced back to the company’s origins, Pizza Friday has evolved into so much more than pizza. Today, the menu rotates every Friday based on employee suggestions, which has brought Mediterranean, Mexican, and Indian food, to name a few.
  • First Thursdays: On the first Thursday of every month, LogicManager’s Culture Team picks a bar/restaurant for all employees to meet at after work. LogicManager is conveniently located in Boston’s growing Seaport & Innovation District, which means an ever-expanding selection of local venues. Nearby parks and pop-up beer gardens, as well as Harpoon Brewery in particular, have become popular spots for LM’ers to spend a few hours together on First Thursdays. This monthly tradition has become an event employees can count on as an opportunity to grow the relationships they’ve created at LogicManager.
