  • Taking Care of Our Own: One of Live Nation’s guiding principles is to take care of our own. That applies to our artists, fans, partners, and above all, our employees. On top of regular benefits and compensation, we created a special Taking Care of Our Own program to assist employees in times of hardship. This program has helped hundreds of our employees with everything from housing assistance due to floods, hurricanes, and fires, to health expenses from disease and disabilities, as well as drug and alcohol dependency treatment, and many other personal crises. Employees also have the option to seek support from their own networks through a partnership with the leading crowd-funding platform, CrowdRise, and Live Nation is committed to matching up to $5,000 of funds raised.
  • Promoting a Diverse Crowd & Inclusive Culture: We aim for our workforce to reflect the millions of fans we serve, and cultivate an inclusive workplace where employees can bring their whole selves to work. In turn, working for Live Nation quickly becomes a celebrated piece of our employees' identity. We have a network of 20+ global chapters of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) set up to embrace diversity and promote a stronger sense of community while also providing personal and professional development for our Asian, Black, Latino, LGBTQ, and Women employees. These ERGs then create programs open to the entire company around key initiatives such as female networking, voter registration, women in tech, gay pride gatherings, veteran recruitment, training workshops and more.
  • Ensuring Work/Life Balance with PTO: Live Nation provides a varied Paid Time Off (PTO) package to encourage work-life balance. FTEs receive a minimum of 2 weeks’ vacation, while manager and above have informal unlimited vacation. Our PTO package also includes 9 holidays, 5 personal sick days, 5 days to care for sick loved ones, 3 weeks bereavement leave, 2 personal days (to enjoy your birthday and that of a significant other), and 10 PTO days for jury duty. Most offices also close for 2 weeks from mid-December through the new year, meaning employees have the opportunity to enjoy more than a month off each year. And to thank our long-standing employees with 25 years of service, Live Nation launched a sabbatical program providing 6 months paid leave.
  • Fostering Tech Innovation: Our technology has to be top notch to handle $28 billion in gross ticket sales a year and millions of fans flooding our platforms for on-sales for artists like Beyoncé and U2. We have many programs in place to promote our tech-forward culture, including: regular tech meet-ups for discussion and research, often with guest speakers or group trainings; Women in Technology (WiT) which aims to attract,  grow, develop, appreciate and retain female rock stars. We foster creativity and reward great ideas through our Patent Reward Program where employees are awarded financially and with public recognition for contributing to new intellectual property, and LN Innovation Incubator, an annual competition which offers $10,000 for the most innovative idea to improve our business. 
  • Putting Family First: Live Nation supports our employees and their families by offering a wide array of family related benefits including fully supporting fertility needs such as egg freezing, egg donation, and IVF. We also help employees during the adoption process or with surrogacy needs up to $10,000 per employee. All new parents receive a cash “baby bonus” of $500 for the new members of their families. We partner this with a generous paid time off program of 6 months for primary caregivers to bond with their child. Additionally, we provide paid time off to care for a child or family member during unforeseen situations, including 5 additional days of sick leave (on top of personal sick leave), and 3 weeks for bereavement leave or end-of-life care.
  • Investing in Education, Past & Present: We’re always looking for benefits that take care of our own, and with student loan debt at an all-time high in the U.S., second only to mortgage debt, we believe Student Loan Repayment Assistance fits that goal, especially for our millennial population. Live Nation contributes $1,200 per year towards employees’ student loans over 5 years – for a total contribution of $6,000. We’re proud to have been the first entertainment company in North America to offer student loan repayment assistance. We also offer Tuition Reimbursement ($5,000 for graduate, $3,000 for undergraduate, and $500 for certificate courses each year) to assist employees with tuition as they develop professionally. Reimbursement for non-accredited courses related to the business (e.g., music lessons) is also available to support varied pursuits.
  • Recognizing Our Rock Stars: In 2016, Live Nation posted our eleventh consecutive years of revenue growth. This continued success is all due to the hard work and dedication of our employees, and we have many programs in place to recognize them, including: a monthly note from our CEO calling out key people and teams for recent business wins or philanthropic efforts; our Rock Star awards which give managers the opportunity to recognize their team members and give them a cash bonus for major contributions at the departmental, divisional, or company-wide level; some divisions also have quarterly and annual awards for employees who exemplify their values. We think service anniversaries deserve celebration too, and our weekly global newsletter calls out employee milestones and introduces all new hires.
  • Paying Music Forward: The music industry is a tight-knit community, and Live Nation supports a variety of music foundations as well as causes that are close to artists’ hearts. Our own Music Forward Foundation sets the stage for success for underprivileged youth, providing instruments and artist showcases for aspiring musicians, and career exploration to inspire the next generation of music industry leaders. Our employees help identify which causes we support financially, such as MusiCares Foundation, Rihanna’s Clara Lionel, and Chance the Rapper’s $1 million donation to Chicago Public Schools. Our teams also donate their time and expertise, for example, coming together to produce the One Love Manchester benefit-concert which raised $12 million to support victims of the Manchester terrorist attack. Plus, employees receive 5 paid volunteer days annually.
  • Empowering Employees Through Onboarding & Career Development: This kicks off with business overviews at the enterprise and divisional level, a benefits orientation, a team celebration, and an award-winning welcome box of company swag, including a $200 gift card to go out and enjoy the live concerts and entertainment we offer our fans. New employees are assigned a buddy to help them through their onboarding process, and invited to attend a deep dive 2-day orientation with the opportunity to meet business leaders and expand their peer network. To ensure long-term success, we empower employees with ongoing development opportunities at every division, ranging from workshops that hone knowledge on key concepts, to multi-day seminars on situational leadership and self-awareness, and even life-coaching at the executive level.
  • Enjoying the Show: While some of our employees live a life on tour, we make sure every employee has insider access to shows across the globe through our Employee Ticket Concierge team. Employees receive two free concert tickets each year and two free tickets for each festival in Live Nation’s ever-growing portfolio, plus a “Grass Pass” for entry for two at our amphitheaters. Employees and their entire families (half, step, in-laws included) also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for any Live Nation show without service fees. To top that off, we give unsold inventory to employees (and their loved ones) through a lottery, gifting a record breaking 39,531 tickets valued at $3.5M in 2016. What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Innovative, entrepreneurial, and bold people thrive at Live Nation. The work flow here is fast-paced, and our employees dynamically adapt to changes in strategy or evolving visions from an artist. Most decisions are made at the team and divisional level, not pushed down from our C-suite, so we need people who have great ideas and aren’t afraid to share them. This decentralized approach is what allowed Live Nation to expand from operating in just the U.S. to having a presence in over 40 countries in just a decade. It also means that everyone has potential to make a big impact. You don't have to know everything about music history or even the music industry to succeed here; as long as you bring passion to your work you will fit right in.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Know your shit. Whether you’re looking to promote global tours, run hospitality in one of our 180+ venues, strike sponsorship deals with world-class brands, or get more tickets into the hands of fans, our recruiters can tell when they’re talking to an expert. Be ready to give us concrete examples of how you’ve made an impact in past roles. And we're always impressed by candidates that share new ideas that could move the needle.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

It’s important to remember that we’re more than music; as the world’s leading live entertainment company we cover the action from stage to field, and touch many industries from technology, marketing, operations, hospitality, customer service, sales, film, advertising and beyond. Our Concerts group needs tour managers and marketers to fuel our core touring business. Ticketmaster is always looking for top tech talent to help innovate our platforms and improve the ticket buying experience.  And Media & Sponsorship needs analytical brains to help manage our 900+ clients as well as creative gurus to continue developing award-winning brand integrations for world-class partners. We keep our corporate team very lean to prevent becoming too bureaucratic, which means our central business services (Finance, HR, Legal, M&A, Communications, IT, etc.) are looking for the best of the best.
