We asked Live Nation Entertainment to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Taking Care of Our Own: One of Live Nation’s guiding principles is to take care of our own. That applies to our artists, fans, partners, and above all, our employees. Our CEO felt so strongly about this mantra, that on top of regular benefits and compensation, he started offering help to employees who were going through a tough time. This grew into an official program called Taking Care of Our Own, which has helped thousands of our employees in times of hardship, including rebuilding after natural disasters, expenses from experimental medical treatment, alternative housing for domestic violence situations, as well as drug and alcohol dependency treatment, and many other personal crises. Employees can also seek support from their own networks through a partnership with leading crowd-funding platform, GoFundMe, and Live Nation is committed to matching up to $5,000 of funds raised.
  • Paid Time Off: We believe people do their best work when they are taking time to take care of themselves, which is why we provide ample annual paid time off (PTO). Entry level employees start out receiving 2 weeks’ vacation, and that expands to unlimited vacation for managers and above. Our PTO package also includes 10 observed holidays, 5 sick days, 5 volunteer days, 2 personal days (which we encourage everyone to use to enjoy their birthday and the birthday of their significant other), plus 10 PTO days to participate in jury duty. Our offices also close for 2 weeks from mid-December through the new year, meaning employees have the opportunity to enjoy more than a month off each year. And to thank our long-standing employees with 25 years of service, Live Nation has a sabbatical program providing 6 months paid leave.
  • Taking Care of Family: Live Nation supports a wide array of family-related benefits including fully supporting fertility needs such as egg-freezing, egg-donation, and IVF. We also help employees during the adoption process or with surrogacy needs up to $10,000 per employee. All new parents receive a $500 cash “baby bonus” for the new members of their families. And we partner this with a generous paid time off program of 6 months for primary caregivers to bond with their child, including adoptions. Additionally, we provide paid time off to care for a child or family member during unforeseen situations, including 5 additional days of sick leave (on top of personal sick leave), and 3 weeks for bereavement leave or end-of-life care. We know pets are family too, and offer pet insurance which covers any vet in the U.S. and access to a 24/7 vet helpline.
  • Student Loan Repayment: With student loan debt at an all-time high in the U.S., second only to mortgage debt, we rolled out a program to help our employees pay off their burdensome student loans. Live Nation contributes $100 a month ($1,200 per year) towards employees’ student loans. We’re proud to have been the first entertainment company in North America to offer student loan repayment assistance, and have saved our employees over $2 million since the program launched in early 2017.
  • Stock Purchase Program: In addition to investing in our employees' own futures through competitive 401(k) matching, we also wanted employees to share in the success of our business, which is why we introduced a stock purchase program this year. Once employees purchase LYV stock and hold it for 6 months, they are eligible for a 25% reimbursement. Our stock has nearly doubled in value over the past year, which makes this a super powerful perk. We also offer financial wellness & literacy courses to help educate employees on the power of stocks, savings, retirement funds, and overall wealth management. 
  • Women Nation Fund: Women are underrepresented across the entertainment industry, especially in the music business. As the leader in live entertainment, Live Nation wants to meaningfully address this issue and change the dynamic, which is why we launched the first-of-its-kind Women Nation Fund – an early-stage fund dedicated to investing in female-founded live music businesses. By providing financial capital, industry resources, and company connections, we believe we can help underrepresented female entrepreneurs grow their businesses while also improving gender equity across the industry. The fund is managed by a board of female Live Nation executives, and is open to our employees as well as external female business owners. The fund has sparked excitement across the industry, receiving 300+ applications in the two months since its launch, and earning applause from Dr. Stacy Smith, Founder and Director of University of Southern California's Annenberg Inclusion Initiative.
  • Mindful Nation: We recently launched Mindful Nation, our first in-house mindfulness experience for employees at Live Nation. The program was inspired by our CEO, who has found daily mediation to be a powerful tool to stay focused on what matters. Simple mindfulness techniques are clinically proven to relieve stress, improve interpersonal dynamics, camaraderie, and boost creativity and problem-solving skills. So, two times per month professional meditation gurus lead Mindful Nation sessions in our offices around the world. This includes a variety of practices, from guided meditations to sound baths and the art of calming essential oils. The instructors also teach simple mindfulness techniques that employees can practice on their own. We’ve received amazing testimonies on how this program is helping employees prioritize their professional and personal lives.
  • KidNation: KidNation is Live Nation’s version of Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day. This annual event turns our offices into a family-friendly festival for the day. Employees are invited to bring the little people in their lives – including children, nieces, nephews, close friends and even mentees – to learn about the business of live entertainment and enjoy an exciting day of live music, fun, food and super cool activities. This year, KidNation went global and is happening is more than 100 locations around the world! Some of the hottest activities this year are virtual reality, a puppy petting zoo (yes, real puppies), tours of our iconic venues and an appearance by The Wiggles! Of course, live music plays a huge role in the day and special appearances by super talented kids acts like sister duo DJ’s Amira & Kayla and Hip Hop trio TRNDSTTRS and Mannish were top hits.
  • Honoring Our Veterans: Live Nation is dedicated to supporting our nation’s service members. We've been a long-time supporter of the Veteran Ticket Foundation, aka Vet Tix. As the organization's top donor, we've gifted over $28 million in tickets since 2014. And just this year we utilized our Ticketmaster ticketing software to improve Vet Tix's platform, simplifying the ticket donation process for artists, venues, theatres and clubs while also making it easier for vets, service members, and their families to see ticket availability in real time. In addition to strengthening family bonds and building memories, we’re proud that these live entertainment experiences can help service members and veterans reduce stress and stay engaged with local communities as they return to civilian life. Live Nation is also committed to hiring veterans, and recently became an official partner to veteran empowerment organization, Got Your 6, which helps vets secure post-service careers in the entertainment industry.
  • Free Concert Tickets & Music Perks: While some of our employees live life on tour, we make sure every employee has insider access to shows through our Employee Ticket Concierge team. Our annual free-ticket allotment was recently doubled to 4 concert tickets, and employee also receive 2 free tickets for each Live Nation festival, plus a “Grass Pass” for entry for you and a +1 at all 46 of our amphitheaters across the U.S. Employees and their entire families (half, step, in-laws included) also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for any Live Nation show without service fees. To top that off, we give unsold inventory to employees (and their friends & families) through a lottery, gifting a record breaking 62,000 tickets valued at $3.7 million in 2017. Plus, each month, our offices host at least two performances from up-and-coming artists.

The work flow here is fast-paced, and our employees dynamically adapt to changes in strategy or evolving visions from an artist or client. Most decisions are made at the team and divisional level, not pushed down from our C-suite, so we need people who have great ideas and aren’t afraid to share them. This decentralized approach is what allowed Live Nation to expand from operating in just the U.S. to having a presence in over 40 countries in just a decade. It also means that everyone has potential to make a big impact. You don't have to know everything about music history or even the music industry to succeed here; as long as you bring passion to your work you will fit right in.

It’s important to remember that we’re more than music; as the world’s leading live entertainment company we cover the action from stage to field, and touch many industries from technology, marketing, operations, hospitality, customer service, sales, film, advertising and beyond. Our Concerts group needs tour managers and marketers to fuel our core touring business. Ticketmaster is always looking for top tech talent to help innovate our platforms and improve the ticket buying experience.  And Media & Sponsorship needs analytical brains to help manage our 900+ clients as well as creative gurus to continue developing award-winning brand integrations for world-class partners. We keep our corporate team very lean to prevent becoming too bureaucratic, which means our central business services (Finance, HR, Legal, M&A, Communications, IT, etc.) are looking for the best of the best.
