Perks and Programs

We asked Limeade to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • LimeMates: Our internal employee well-being platform (our own well-being technology) serves as our hub for culture, health, well-being and performance. All employees receive a free FitBit on their first day so they can immediately participate in our steps challenge. LimeMates can also invite a family member, friend, etc., to join the program.
  • Unique + Fun Office Space: Energetic, fresh and inviting, our space promotes ingenuity, collaboration, relaxation and creativity while offering perks like standing desks, yoga balls, bike desks, healthy snacks, drinks, ping pong table, scooters, puzzles and games. Remote employees receive a $250 stipend to take care of their well-being or create a home office space that is comfortable for their work style.
  • Leadership Development: We invest in the development of all employees regardless of level or tenure. For example, all employees go through a training called Leadership is a Choice. In addition, employees can work with their manager to determine a development opportunity outside of Limeade they'd like to pursue.
  • Rewards and Recognition: Employees are recognized and rewarded for living our Limeade values, fostering our culture of improvement, going above and beyond as a LimeMate, referring awesome new LimeMates and even through daily "Cheers for Peers" that we feature through a live feed on a TV in the office! Additionally, each quarter we offer a “We’re A Team!” award given to one member of each team who demonstrated this value. Every year we give out six value awards (one for each of our values) to outstanding LimeMates voted by the leadership team.
  • Intentional Communication: We're focused on communicating frequently and intentionally with employees. This includes our internal newsletter "The Squeeze" and our monthly company meeting. At Limeade, people grow, collaborate, learn and play together in regular company meetings as well as annual events that bring everyone together from across the country. The time is used for fun and recreation, but also important for company alignment, employee development, planning, and communications.
  • Anything is Possible Day: Our annual all staff onsite event is intentionally named after one of our values. We believe in uniting our employees around our values, and aligning on business goals is critical to our success. We recognize there is a limited time when our employees are all together, so we incorporate fun team-building activities like scavenger hunts throughout our HQ city, bowling, etc.
  • Limeade Kaleidoscope: Kaleidoscope is our common language for what it means to welcome, respect and recognize the unique perspectives and experiences that make Limeade awesome. From formal programs to social events to a fun brand, Kaleidoscope is all about making Limeade an inclusive place to work. One example is our Women in the Workplace program. The mission of the group is to develop well-rounded leaders, advocate for more women in positions of influence, and build a culture in which men and women alike can grow their careers and make an impact. The group holds quarterly social events, guides discussion circles, leads book clubs, shares spotlights on diverse employees who live our values and hosts events to gather feedback.
  • Flexible Work: We actively encourage employees to take their vacations, find days to work from home, have flexible work hours and take well-being breaks during the day.
  • Well-Being Resource Room: We offer a private space in our office for people to take personal calls when needed. We also provide information on our Employee Assistance Program and a Financial Advisor. We believe in creating spaces that encourage employees to take care of their whole self at work and the Well-Being Resource Room is one example of this.
  • LESS Speaker Series: LESS — Limeade Expert Speaker Series — is a chance for LimeMates to hear from experts outside of Limeade. We’ve welcomed researchers from large institutions to executives at other fast-growing companies to share their stories and expertise with our employees.

How to Get Hired

We asked Limeade for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

First, we look for people who are passionate about our mission to measurably improve well-being in the world. Then we look for people who are aligned with our values. Those who fit the best at Limeade wake up thinking “how can I delight my customers today?” They believe anything is possible and are always thinking big and bold about ways to innovate and take risks to improve our product, process and customer experience. We look for people who are life-long learners. They are curious about problems and always looking to learn new ways to approach, solve and improve. They strive for excellence in everything they do. We look for people who are authentic & likable and live & breathe teamwork. We have a strict “no jerks” policy.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Should a prospective employee want to get our attention, they should thoughtfully answer the two questions asked in the online application process: “What drew you to Limeade and why?” and “provide an example of a time you demonstrated excellence in work or life.”  We are looking for people who are passionate about Limeade and our mission. We also want people who are passionate about going above and beyond to do great work or achieve amazing things in life.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

In this coming year, we are hiring all across our organization including development, customer success, sales, marketing and operations.
