The Office

Perks and Programs

We asked Lemonly to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Work Anywhere: People at Lemonly can work from wherever they want. We currently have remote employees in New York City and Vancouver. This benefit isn’t just for remote workers either. HQ folks can work at home, a coffee shop, or do a workation — wherever they get their work done.
  • Summer Hours: The concept is simple — from Memorial Day through Labor Day we shut down the office early on Fridays. We work a 2/3 day and many folks start their summer weekends by 3 PM.
  • 5-year Adventure Bonus: In April 2017, our then five and a half-year-old company had our first employee reach five years at the company. We highly value loyalty, and in accordance to one of our core values of Adventure, we now give each employee $2,500 and an extra week of vacation to travel internationally as an adventure bonus on their five-year anniversary.
  • Company retreat: Lemonly covers an all-expense paid trip for our annual company retreat each fall. We fly the remote employees in and head to a cabin, or lake, or other location away from HQ to share ideas on how to improve the company and to get to know our co-workers even better with team outings, hikes, cooking dinner.
  • Annual 3/2/1 charity donation: At the end of the year, we set aside $6,000 to be donated to local charities. Each employee nominates a charity of their choice, then the team votes for their favorite three. Based on those votes, we make donations of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 to the top picks.
  • Monthly lunch and learn: Each month, we bring in a local presenter, feature a Lemonly team member with an expertise, or visit a location to learn about a topic relevant to our team––ranging from mortgages and investing to making sushi and yoga basics. Lemonly provides the lunch and the time to learn during the workday.
  • Vacations and paid holidays: Lemonly offers 3 weeks of paid vacation and 8 national holidays every year. Employees who’ve worked five years at Lemonly get to bump their PTO up to 4 weeks. On top of this, we offer flexibility for folks who want to take extended trips (honeymoons, trips abroad, extended time with family) by letting them either go into negative PTO and make it up or take unpaid days.
  • Continuing education allowance: If folks want to take an online course, buy a book for the Lemonly library, or attend a conference, they simply need to ask. We want our employees to continue to learn and grow.
  • Revenue goal distribution: We set team goals for each quarter that are shared and measured. If we beat those goals, Lemonly shares every dollar above the goal 50/50 (half back to the company to reinvest and half to the team).
  • Paid parental leave: 2016 was a big year for parents at Lemonly with four new Lemonhead babies being born. We adjusted our policy at the start of 2016 to accommodate for these current and future parents. Lemonly now offers four weeks of paid leave for new moms and two weeks of paid leave for new dads. We also have three current mothers in the office that work four-day weeks to allow them to have more time at home.

How to Get Hired

We asked Lemonly for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

If you have the skills the job takes, a great attitude, bring a superpower to the team no one else has and can align with our core values of Collaboration, Integrity, and Adventure, you have an awesome shot at becoming a Lemonly employee. The degree to which you jive with the Lemonly culture will serve as a multiplier to how quickly we need to hire you to join the Lemonly team - AKA culture fit. All employees here are excited to make Lemonly better day by day and appreciate the art and science behind working with clients to make the best projects. If you're passionate yet humble and enjoy our quirks as a company, that's a good indicator you may be a fit.

(Skills + Attitude + Super Power  / divided by Core Values) x Culture Fit = Lemonly Employee

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

We're all about prospective employees reaching out whenever they have questions or just to say hi, following us and engaging with us on social media, and sending us sweet stuff they've made our way. Regardless of how people reach out to us, we want their interactions to be personalized. Truly great companies want the best people on board the ship, and sometimes the best people come along at times when you’re not expecting them. That's why we encourage people to reach out whenever they see fit.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We're excited to expand our design team with another designer in the coming year as well as adding a Lemonhead to our content team to help our clients tell their story in new ways.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?
