Perks and Programs

We asked Kargo to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Professional Development: We offer up to $1,000 per year toward outside coursework relevant to your role. Many of our employees take classes through SVA, General Assembly and Parsons.
  • Lifelong Learning: We all have passions outside of the office that inspire us. Kargo provides tuition support for employees to take personal-growth classes like language lessons, stand-up comedy and illustration.
  • Cellphone Stipend: We give every employee $70 a month to use towards their cellphone bill.
  • Flexible PTO: We offer unlimited vacation.
  • Employee Referral Program: We give a bonus of up to $5,000 to any employee who refers a job candidate who is hired. Payout happens once the newly hired candidate hits the 3-month mark.
  • Basic Life Insurance: Automatic enrollment of every employee for free, up to $50,000 in coverage.
  • Monthly Book Club: An employee-led group that votes on what to read and meets once a month to discuss a title. Novels, biographies, treatises, how-tos—the group is game for any genre. Book purchase and meeting sponsored by Kargo.
  • Kargo Night Out: Every month we throw an in-office mixer to get our teams interacting away from the screens. From potluck Thanksgiving to Drinko de Mayo, these themed evenings are all about food and fun.
  • Mystery Lunch: A popular quarterly lunch event that—true to its name—doesn’t reveal who you’re dining with or where you're going until the very last second. It’s a great way to get employees to mix with people across teams and departments.
  • Company Retreat: Every year, all of Kargo heads somewhere exotic (Costa Rica, for example) to talk shop and take a break together. This tradition began when Kargo was a 5-person company and we are committed to keeping it going as we grow past 300.

How to Get Hired

We asked Kargo for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Yes, we want to know where you studied and where you’ve worked. But we also want to be sure you possess the key characteristics that will help you thrive here. Among them: the adaptability needed to keep up with fast-evolving technologies and teams; the flexibility to give/take constructive feedback and jump on opportunities to improve processes; and the ability to collaborate constantly.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Kargo is all about team players, and we notice when prospective candidates highlight past experience as a collective effort rather than an individual feat. We look for results-driven collaborators who want to be involved, like to produce, enjoy camaraderie, and are open to the change that comes with an industry that is constantly evolving and innovating.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

The teams that are growing the most by headcount are engineering and software development. Additionally, we are always looking for programmatic, direct sales and revenue operations candidates.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

We love hearing from prospective candidates that would like to join our team. An open-door policy is essential to Kargo’s collaborative environment and success. Prospective and current employees alike are always encouraged to reach out to management.
