  • Leadership Training: There is no greater responsibility than equipping our employees with leadership development skills. We host monthly workshops for everyone to participate in which supports the development of behavior-based competencies in addition to specialized programs for our managers and other leaders. Strong, compassionate leaders have a broad organization impact. Their success is our success and we're committed to their growth and development.
  • Company-Wide Awards: We recognize those who go above and beyond their own job duties and embody our values. Our awards recognize those who see a problem or opportunity and, exercising exceptional judgment, go out of their way to address the issue. Another award recognizes employee(s) and teams who identify ways to create value through cross-functional collaboration. There are also miscellaneous Sales awards for meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Wellness Program: We've partnered with one of our customers to provide onsite massages, yoga, and meditation sessions to promote overall wellbeing. Our Director of Employee Success (our HR equivalent) also conducts individualized career coaching sessions in order to provide support for individuals transitioning into new roles, managing difficult situations, and building new skill sets. We conduct Wellness Days where we partner with local vendors, health coaches, and other professionals in the wellness space in order to bring unique services to the workplace.
  • Dog Friendly Environment: We value an open, casual and fun environment. Having a dog-friendly office is one way we can do that while providing flexibility. It's also a nice way to relieve stress.
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off: Enough said!
  • Unlimited Snacks & Drinks: We offer an abundance of snacks and drinks in an attempt to create a space where everyone feels cared for and nourished.
  • Company Retreats: We make the time to connect outside of the workplace. One way we do this is through our annual retreats which is the intersection of having fun while building relationships. We typically hold these retreats on beautiful campgrounds outside of NYC.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We look for alignment with our core values above and beyond anything else: https://justworks.com/why-justworks/our-values While skills are important, core values trump skills every time for us.  We can teach and develop skills, but grit, integrity and the other values cannot be taught. We also look for alignment with our mission of helping small businesses grow and scale.  When candidates are in tune with or have a connection to our mission, that tells us they will be successful here.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Candidates get our attention when they are passionate about our mission and can share a personal connection - maybe their family ran a small business, or their first job was in a small business, or their best friend in college started a small business.  Finding that connection is key for someone to get our attention. We also appreciate it when candidates have done their homework about Justworks and prepare relevant questions.  When they can go beyond the role and ask questions about the business, that gets out attention in a positive way.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are focused on hiring for Sales, Customer Success, Software Engineering, Operations and Marketing roles. We want candidates who align with our core values and our mission of helping small businesses succeed.
