Perks and Programs

We asked JM Family Enterprises, Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Celebrating 50 Years of Family: In honor of JM Family’s 50th anniversary, the company launched a year-long campaign that included commemorative merchandise for associates, $50,000 charitable donations in their major business locations, tree planting volunteer events and more. This fall, it culminates with the Route ’68 Tour – an exclusive party for associates and their guests with private performances from Wayne Brady, The Illusionists and Jon Bon Jovi!
  • Under Construction: JM Family broke ground on a three-year $150 million construction project to transform its headquarters into a modern, pedestrian-friendly and collaborative workspace. Major highlights include a state-of-the-art conference and training center, an outdoor amphitheater for associate events, LEED-certified office buildings infused with technology, and a sports complex.
  • Anniversary Celebration Weekend: JM Family treats associates celebrating milestone service anniversaries and their guests to an all-inclusive weekend retreat at a five-star resort in Florida. Guests enjoy deluxe accommodations, a gala dinner and first-class service with complimentary excursions such as snorkeling, golf, spa treatments and more. This annual tradition is “the most important weekend of the year for our company.”
  • Company Wide Internal Minimum Wage: JM Family has a minimum wage of $16 per hour. When the increase went into effect in 2015, more than 400 associates received a pay increase and salaries for more than 620 additional associates increased to account for compression; provide equity between jobs; and to recognize tenure, experience, and performance.
  • Commitment to Health & Well-being: Nine onsite Health and Wellness Centers keep JM Family associates and their dependents feeling their best. Company doctors can also be reached 24/7 through a dedicated help line. In addition, associates and spouses can earn up to $500 in annual incentives for participating in wellness activities, including preventive care, regular exercise and smoking cessation programs.
  • Preparing for Retirement: JM Family contributes up to 15% of associates’ compensation into retirement savings programs every year, including 3% automatic 401(k) and 12% Profit Sharing contributions. The company also provides a defined pension plan and retiree medical benefits. In addition, associates are enrolled in an automatic increase program that boosts individual 401(k) contributions by 1% annually up to 10%.
  • Assistance for Growing Families:   JM Family’s Parental Leave Policy provides 12 weeks fully paid maternity leave, 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave, 12 weeks fully paid leave for primary adoptive caregivers, and 4 weeks fully paid leave for non-primary adoptive caregivers. In addition, our adoption benefit is $10,000 per child.
  • Vehicle Purchase Plans: All JM Family associates and their family members may purchase or lease new Toyota or Lexus vehicles at deep discounts. They can also score deals on parts, accessories and warranties and take advantage of free SirusXM radio.
  • Associates Helping Associates: Associates Helping Associates brings us together in times of need. Funded by the company and associates, the program provides tax-free financial support when someone experiences a significant hardship – like the loss of a home, passing of a relative or unexpected emergency. To date, 540 associates have received $1,047,000 in assistance.
  • Making Spirits Bright: All associates receive a percentage of JM Family's profits through generous bonuses handed out by management on the first Friday of December, affectionately known as "FFID". Depending on company performance, second and sometimes third bonus checks are distributed!

How to Get Hired

We asked JM Family Enterprises, Inc. for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

Understanding how we achieve results within the JM Family culture is what makes our associates successful. We look for individuals who demonstrate the attributes that will support and drive our organization forward. We keep our culture at the center of the recruiting process, and we employ techniques that enable us to evaluate what skills and experience candidates can develop. We also use behavioral interviewing to gain a better understanding of whether individuals have demonstrated characteristics that align with our core values. Our goal is to hire and retain people who can develop in their careers and also positively contribute to our unique culture and organization as a whole.

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

People stand out when they show a dedicated interest in our company and culture. When their core values and beliefs align with ours, the transition to an associate is seamless and sets both parties up for long-term success. Candidates who have researched JM Family and understand our history, mission, and focus on giving back will put themselves ahead of the competition. Individuals who demonstrate a sincere interest in who we are and what we do will have a head start when seeking opportunities to join our family.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are always seeking talented candidates who have diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and we also focus on those who are bilingual and have served in our Armed Forces. Some positions we anticipate filling this year include Data Science, Information Technology Infrastructure, Finance, Automotive Service and Sales.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

JM Family is proud of our company history, culture and the many accomplishments of our associates - both at work and within the community. Interested candidates can research our company on www.jmfamily.com or through our social media accounts such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. We also host and attend job fairs where individuals can learn about how we do business and our commitment to always "do it better!" In addition, JM Lexus welcomes walk-in applicants and will even schedule tours of the facility for those interested.
