We asked Intuit Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Parental Leave, Family Support: Moms and dads get eight weeks off – with pay – following the arrival of a new baby. That's in addition to the up to 24 weeks of paid time off afforded by state and federal laws, for a total of up to 160 days off. Adoptive parents get eight weeks off, too, and we provide $5,000 to support them through the adoption process. Our back-up childcare and elder care program provides access to in-home care specialists and childcare centers at subsidized rates. Through a flexible spending account, employees can contribute up to $5,000 in pre-tax money. Intuit matches the first $650 to cover day and dependent care.
  • Fitness Pays Off: Our state-of-the-art fitness centers, individualized health exams and subsidized, well-balanced meals, encourage employees to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Employees can also receive up to $650 a year to cover fitness expenses, including gym memberships, personal trainers, life coaches and sleep programs. Employees, spouses and domestic partners who complete biometric screenings can earn $2,080 in paycheck credits per year. A new, optional wellness program includes comprehensive DNA, blood and saliva tests to create a complete picture of participants’ health.
  • Commuting Made Easy: Getting to work shouldn’t be work. We provide up to $100 per month to encourage employees to use public transportation. In the San Francisco Bay Area, we pay Caltrain fares, and subsidize passes for shuttle buses that bring employees to and from campus. Working late and miss your ride? We’ll pay for five guaranteed rides home per year. We also provide more than 40 bikes for cycling commuters. Drive an electric car to work? Charge your car for free at one of our 149 charging ports in the U.S. We’ve eliminated an estimated 285,000 kilograms of pollutants from employee vehicles.
  • Time to Do Good: Our We Care and Give Back program gives employees up to four days off with pay annually to volunteer and support their favorite nonprofits. We’ve rebuilt schools in the wake of disasters, collected Hot Wheels toys (earning us a Guinness world record!) and made the holidays brighter for those in need through food, gift and clothing collections. Last year employees logged 30,400 volunteer hours in the community. We doubled our matching gift contribution program this year, matching up to $5,000 in employee donations to nonprofits. We also think employees deserve time to celebrate themselves. Our new holiday policy lets you take your birthday off – with pay!
  • Promoting Financial Fitness: Intuit's compensation package goes far beyond the paycheck. We offer employees a generous 125 percent match on their 401(k) contributions, up to $10,000 annually, or 6 percent of their annual salary. Stock options and restricted stock units are also available based on performance. Employees participating in the company's stock purchase program can contribute up to 15 percent of their pay to purchase Intuit stock at a minimum 15 percent discount.
  • Breathe In, Breathe Out: Intuit’s Well Minds resources help employees and their families find focus, reduce stress and strengthen relationships. Our suite of emotional well-being programs includes Headspace, eMindful. Lantern and Whil, All programs are available online, making it easy for employees to get the support they need at any time.
  • Spotlight on Performance: Employees can recognize each other for their above-and-beyond work through our Spotlight award program. Awards range from $10 to $1,000 and can be redeemed for gift cards, travel or charitable donations. Outstanding achievement can earn you a weekend for two anywhere in the continental U.S.  In addition, top performers in leadership, sales and customer care enjoy multi-faceted recognition programs that can include all-expenses paid travel to resort destinations, time to work on projects they’re passionate about and face time with executives.
  • Back to School: Our tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs help employees and their families beat the high cost of education. Full-time employees can get up to $5,000 per calendar year to attend pre-approved courses, while part-timers are eligible for up to $2,500. We help put kids through school, too. The Intuit Scholarship Program offers private secondary school, college-level, and vocational and technical educational scholarships of up to $10,000 for students whose parents have worked at Intuit for at least one year. Through College Coach, employees and their families are guided through the college admissions and financial aid process.
  • Meeting Children’s Needs: Intuit offers several programs to help families with special needs. Rethink supports parents and caregivers of children with developmental disabilities, such as autism or Down Syndrome, by helping them with skill building, positive reinforcement and care coordination. We also offer applied behavioral analysis, equine and music therapy. Cognition Builders helps families learn to help themselves with behavioral, emotional, social, cognitive and intellectual areas.
  • Creature Comforts: Pets are family too. Looking for a pet sitter during the day? Or someone to walk Fido before you get home? We can help. We’ll also help you find affordable insurance to keep vet bills down. And we're there to support employees when beloved pets pass and cross the rainbow bridge. Our new bereavement policy provides a day off with pay to mourn the loss of a furry or feathered companion.
