We asked Intradeco to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Employee Loans: Intradeco supports employees in their time of need by providing an employee loan, interest free of up to $2,500.00. The employee pays back the loan through $25 payroll deductions. For some employees that cannot afford the $25 a $15 payroll deduction is made instead.
  • Bonus Program: Intradeco has a robust bonus program that is paid out from 91% to 100% of the employees performance. Due to the stability of the company during good and bad times the employees have yet to feel any economical changes in their benefits (paid bonus). A $500.00 Christmas bonus is given in appreciation for all their hard work throughout the year.
  • Breakfast & Lunch: Intradeco provides free lunches every Monday and free breakfast every Friday. The variety of the menu the employees choose from changes on a weekly basis. Intradeco's kitchen is stocked with the following: condiments, milk, cereal, ice cream, peanut butter, jelly, butter, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salsa, hot sauce, oil and vinegar, salt & pepper, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice, salad dressing, juicer, panini press, toaster oven.
  • Benefits: Intradeco offers several benefits such medical, dental, vision, FSA and H S A, life insurance $50,000, accidental death and dismemberment, long term disability, EAP, and travel insurance. The company pays 80% of the single premium for medical insurance along with an advocacy program to assist employees with health related issues. Additional life insurance, AFLAC supplemental insurance, and short term disability is available for employees to purchase at their discretion. There is a program called Abraham Siman Scholarship fund named after one of the founders of the company which pays high school tuition. To qualify the household income should be $50K or less, student should have passing grades and community involvement. Once the student graduates from high school they are offered an internship at Intradeco.
  • Communication: All employees in Intradeco have a voice that can be heard through several channels. For example, we offer an Open Door policy where employees can reach out to their immediate supervisor or upper management including HR anytime; National Sales Meeting where the status of the company, goals for the coming year are presented; performance evaluation progress report between manager and employee to discuss performance and YTD goals; 360 degree survey where an employees and co-workers can provide feedback to managers.
  • Training and Development: The employees are able to develop their career through useful links available through the self-service portal. Mind Tools and Coursera are examples of online trainings that can help the employee in efficiency, leadership, problems solving, etc. Onboarding is an excellent resource for the new comers to learn and familiarize themselves with company culture, values, policies and procedures and specific training tied to the position. We have the buddy system where a new hire is trained by an assigned mentor and sits with each department to learn the different functionalities and how it ties to their position.
  • Celebrations: Intradeco celebrates several festivities throughout the year. For example, for Mother's Day & Father's Day they are given a $25 gift card along with a gift. Every month birthday announcements are sent company wide, cake is cut, two movie tickets, $20 restaurant gift card, and $5 Cold Stone gift card are gifted to the employee. Heritage Fest is where employee's share their favorite dish and highlights their culture. For Earth Day, a relay race was prepared for all employees to bring a recycled item. A feast is prepared for Thanksgiving and senior management serves all employees.
  • Recognition Program: All employees are recognized on their anniversary date with various theme gifts. For example, a 5 year theme is S'More of You. An s’ more kit, e-card, anniversary t-shirt, and Bose speakers are given to the employee. We have an Impressions program through the employee self-service portal where employees at all levels can recognize their colleagues for their excellence, achievement and commitment. The different impressions that can be awarded support the organizations goals and values. We also have another recognition program that is based upon the concept of promoting a meritocracy culture. Nominations may be made for superior performance and/or contribution.
  • Wellness Program: An annual company sponsored health fair is celebrated with various vendors. For example, we had BJ's Wholesale Club come and offer annual memberships at a discounted price. Our medical insurance provided the bio metric screening, dietitian, and a company representative. All employees loved the 10 minute massages. Other vendors that came were a local gym, a healthy caterer, and a chef that made healthy delicious smoothies along with great recipes. On a quarterly basis we offer the employees a brown bag lunch with a speaker that provides information on different topics. Topics include financial budget, nutrition, weight & stress management. The smoothie chef will return towards the 3rd quarter by popular demand.
  • Maternity/Paternity Leave: Expecting a child is one of life's most memorable times. Intradeco would like to assist transitioning into parenthood by giving the employee a paid six week leave. During this time the employee can disconnect from work and welcome their new bundle of joy.

We asked Intradeco for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

We look for candidates that share the same values as Intradeco such as teamwork, honesty, integrity, and respect.   We have more involvement in the interview process by having peer interviews, panel interviews and developing interview questions that are related to the department’s goals and values. The recruiter works very closely with the hiring manager/ department in coaching and interview questions.  It’s important the individual works well within the department and organization.  The candidate goes on a facility tour where they learn about our brands, products, services, and awards located in our showroom.   We want individuals to be here long term.  We consider their current skills for the current opening but we also recognize that they may have other competencies that can be used in task forces, and other projects.  This year we introduced the employee referral program which has helped us in placement of open positions,  

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

  Perspective employees catch our attention when they follow up from a networking event or they send us LinkedIn invites.  Many reach out to us through Facebook and Twitter.  Our HR department is very active with local colleges and the Greater Miami Society of Human Resources.  Our VP of Human Capital has participated in some career development programs where she has coached undergrad and graduate students.  The students then follow up with her for employment and mentoring.  Friends of our employees also catch our eye.

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

Candidates that bring innovation and have a proactive mindset with solution findings.  We are also growing our Ecommerce department, therefore, we are looking for individuals that have strong social media skills. We want people that understand our strategy and are proactive in producing new ideas and becoming leaders in their areas as well as cross functional.
