We asked Intradeco Apparel Inc. to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Employee Loans: Intradeco cares about their employees, especially in their time of need. When an employee needs financial support, Intradeco provides an employee loan, interest free of up to $2,500.00. The employee pays back the loan through $25 payroll deductions. For some employees that cannot afford the $25 a $15 payroll deduction is made instead. 
  • Bonus Program: Intradeco has a robust bonus program that is paid out from 91% to 100% of the employee’s performance. Due to the stability of the company during good and bad times the employees have yet to feel any economical changes in their benefits (paid bonus). An additional, $500.00 Christmas bonus is given in appreciation for all their hard work throughout the year. Also, a $150 gift card is given for Thanksgiving.
  • Breakfast & Lunch: Intradeco provides free lunches every Monday and free breakfast every Friday. The variety of the menu the employees choose from changes on a weekly basis. Intradeco's kitchen is stocked with the following: condiments, milk, cereal, ice cream, peanut butter, jelly, butter, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salsa, hot sauce, oil and vinegar, salt & pepper, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice, blender, panini press, toaster oven.
  • Benefits: Intradeco has several benefits such medical, dental, vision, FSA and H S A, life insurance, AD&D, LTD, EAP, and travel insurance. The company pays 80% of the single premium for medical insurance along with an advocacy program & telehealth to assist employees with health related issues. Additional life insurance, AFLAC and STD is available for employees to purchase. A program called Abraham Siman Scholarship fund named after one of the founders of the company which pays high school tuition. To qualify, students should have passing grades and community involvement. Internships are offered at any off our 3 locations. Once on FMLA all time off is paid leave. 401K is offered with 3% matched at 100% and the next 2% at 50%.
  • Communication: Intradeco welcomes employee voices to be heard through several channels. For example, we offer an Open Door policy where employees can reach out to their immediate supervisor or upper management including HR anytime; performance evaluation progress report along with an annual performance appraisal between manager and employee to discuss performance and YTD goals.
  • Socia Responsibility: Intradeco is committed to our employees, the environment, the community and our country. Every year fundraising begins for several organizations such as SAHF, Toys for Tots, Breast Cancer awareness. The department that fundraised the most is awarded with a lunch. Fundraising ideas include department lunch competition, bake sale, and silent auction. In the past years over $5,000 have been raised. This year for Earth Day, we partnered with securethecall.org. They give away free phones to over 425 community-based organizations around the US including Senior Citizen Centers, Domestic Violence Shelters and Police and Sheriff’s Departments.
  • Celebrations: Intradeco works hard but also plays hard. Several festivities are celebrated throughout the year. For example, for Mother’s & Father's Day they are given a $25 gift card along with a gift. Every month all employee anniversaries are celebrated. Each month a theme and gifts are given accordingly. Birthday announcements are sent out, cake is cut, 2 movie tickets, $25 restaurant gift card are gifted to the employee. Heritage Fest is where employees share their favorite dish and highlights their culture. A feast is prepared for Thanksgiving and a $50 gift card is given to all employees. Intradeco concludes the year with a Year End Celebration, where employees are recognized, relax, and enjoy the comradery among their peers.
  • Recognition Program: All employees are recognized on their anniversary date with various theme gifts. For example, a 10 year theme is We DONUT know what we would do without you. An e-card, balloons, plaque, a box of doughnuts, and an Amazon Echo are given to the employee. We have an Impressions program through the employee self-service portal where employees at all levels can recognize their colleagues for their excellence, achievement and commitment. The different impressions that can be awarded support the organizations goals and values. We also have another recognition program that is based upon the concept of promoting a meritocracy culture. Nominations may be made for superior performance and/or contribution. These awards are given during the Year End Celebration.
  • Wellness Program: Intradeco sponsored the annual health fair with various vendors. For example, we had LA Fitness gym, smoothie chef, yoga & meditation classes, and 15 minute massages, dental & medical insurance representatives. We also had a farmers market, where Intradeco gave $10 to each employee to purchase organic fruits & vegetables. Raffle prizes were awarded to the employees, including an Amazon Echo Dot, Mountain Bike, Ninja Blender, Fit Bits, and 3 Publix $50 gift cards. We continue to offer on a quarterly basis a brown bag lunch with a speaker that provides information on different topics. Topics include financial budget, nutrition, weight & stress management. A quarterly newsletter is sent out with all sorts of health topics.
  • Maternity/Paternity Leave: Intradeco is very supportive of expecting parents, since it’s one of life's most memorable time. Intradeco would like to assist transitioning into parenthood by giving the employee a paid six week leave. During this time the employee can disconnect from work and welcome their new bundle of joy.

What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?

 A potential new hire needs to identify with our core values: Integrity, team work, willingness to change, commitement, quality, social responsibility, respect, accountability and empowerment, and sustainability.  We want to make sure that they are setup for success, since many of these things are relationship driven. We also value, education, work experience, and technological skills.  We also believe in humbleness and have a service type attitude.          

What can prospective employees do to get your attention?

Speak to our employees, reach out to our Human Resources department.  Send your resume, call, or email.  Usually referrals turn out to be great new hires. 

Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?

We are growing our E-commerce department.  We are lookiing for people with this background: textile, social media, sales.

What should interested candidates do to find out more and get started?

Interested candidates can reach out to executives on an individual basis.  They can become part of their social media network.  They can reach out to them and ask questions, even going as far as asking to be mentored.  Attend networking events where they have a chance to meet.  Keep in contact with them. Also, attend fundraising events, and they can follow their interest.  For example, if they know an executive loves to run, they can attend the same running event. One of our recent hires, kept up with one of our executives for years.  He was living in Korea and wanted to move back to the USA.  While visiting NY, he stopped by our office.  He learned of an open position.  Coincidently, our CEO was in the office and got to meet him as well. There was an immediate job offer and now he is part of our family.
