We asked Intradeco for some inside information on how to get hired at the organization. Here is what they had to say.
What key characteristics tell you a prospective employee will be a great fit for your company?
We look for candidates that share the same values as Intradeco such as teamwork, honesty, integrity, and respect. We have more involvement in the interview process by having peer interviews, panel interviews and developing interview questions that are related to the department’s goals and values. The recruiter works very closely with the hiring manager/ department in coaching and interview questions. It’s important the individual works well within the department and organization. The candidate goes on a facility tour where they learn about our brands, products, services, and awards located in our showroom. We want individuals to be here long term. We consider their current skills for the current opening but we also recognize that they may have other competencies that can be used in task forces, and other projects.
This year we introduced the employee referral program which has helped us in placement of open positions,
What can prospective employees do to get your attention?
Perspective employees catch our attention when they follow up from a networking event or they send us LinkedIn invites. Many reach out to us through Facebook and Twitter. Our HR department is very active with local colleges and the Greater Miami Society of Human Resources. Our VP of Human Capital has participated in some career development programs where she has coached undergrad and graduate students. The students then follow up with her for employment and mentoring. Friends of our employees also catch our eye.
Are there any positions or types of candidates you are particularly focused on hiring in this coming year?
Candidates that bring innovation and have a proactive mindset with solution findings. We are also growing our Ecommerce department, therefore, we are looking for individuals that have strong social media skills. We want people that understand our strategy and are proactive in producing new ideas and becoming leaders in their areas as well as cross functional.
