Perks and Programs

We asked Inspirien to share a few programs they feel really capture what's unique about their workplace. Here is what they had to say.

  • Board Meetings: We have begun including employees in the Board Meetings. This is done on a rotation basis. However, all employees are invited to attend lunch after each Board Meeting with all of the Board Members. We recently did a round robin to do introductions, and it was amazing. We have Board Members and Employees who have been with the company since its inception and they had never met before. The Board and the Employees have overwhelmingly shared how much they appreciated this time together to listen and share.
  • Coffee Talks: The President and CEO does monthly Coffee Talks with 2-3 employees in different roles within the company. This is done on a rotation so that all employees get a chance to attend. Once all employees have experienced a coffee talk session, the rotation begins again. The goal of these informal meetings is to get to know each other. There is no formal agenda, but we tend to focus on strategy and input from the employees. This is where the employee input came from in the development of the Vision. When new insights or strategies arise in those meetings, it is called out by telling the participants to "gossip around the water cooler".
  • Bonus: 2015 was the first year that employees received a bonus. We where able to give all employees a meaningful bonus for 2016. This was a passion for the Board and leadership to ensure that employees were recognized and thanked for their contributions to a successful financial year even in the midst of the major organizational restructuring efforts.
  • Continuing Education: We offer a wide range of opportunities at no cost to employees in order to help them gain accreditation and continuing education credit reimbursement to retain it. We also cover the expense of the materials and testing as long as the employee passes. We have several individuals with licenses, and Insperien pays for their renewals. They are critical to our industry and include clinical, legal, and professional licenses. We also provide a tuition reimbursement program for employees seeking higher education.
  • Seasonal Celebrations: Fall Tailgating - Inspirien is in the heart of Alabama and SEC football. We had a celebration on the Friday before College Football started. Employees were encouraged to show support of their teams by wearing their favorite team gear. We had a potluck and grilled burgers and hot dogs. Thanksgiving - We have a tradition of having one employee make breakfast for the staff around Thanksgiving. We recorded a home video of all the staff wishing all of our customers a Happy Thanksgiving and we sent it out via email. Christmas - We had a wonderful holiday party with a nice catered lunch. We played games and gave gift cards to all employees.
  • Yoga Fridays: All employees are invited to join in participating in yoga every Friday. We have a licensed yoga instructor come onsite to conduct a one hour yoga class at no cost to employees during working hours. Coastal Insurance Company covers the cost in full and allows employees to bring a guest to the weekly classes. When class is complete employees are allowed to leave for the day.
